Hartanah Kenyalang debuts flat on ACE Market
KUALA LUMPUR: Sarawak-based construction services company Hartanah Kenyalang Bhd made its debut on Bursa Malaysia's ACE Market today, opening at 16 sen, unchanged from its issue price. The stock remained flat at 16 sen, with a total of 14.55 million shares traded as of 10:28 a.m. Hartanah Kenyalang's initial public offering (IPO) raised RM19.34mil. The company is allocating RM3mil from the proceeds to purchase new machineries and IT related hardware and software; RM10.5mil for project working capital; RM2.1mil for loan repayment and RM3.8mil for listing expenses. In the first quarter ended Jan 31, Hartanah Kenyalang posted a net profit of RM1.9mil, or earnings per share of 0.38 sen on revenue of RM44.8mil.

Hartanah Kenyalang remains upbeat
PETALING JAYA: Hartanah Kenyalang Bhd expects its prospects to be favourable in view of the positive outlook for the construction industry in Sarawak. The company planned to grow its building and infrastructure construction activities and secure design as well as build projects from prospective clients. For the first quarter ended Jan 31, 2025, the construction company saw a net profit of RM1.9mil, translating to an earnings per share of RM0.38 a share. It registered a revenue of RM44.8mil for the quarter mainly attributed to its building construction services segment which contributed RM32.1mil or 72% of the group's total revenue. The revenue attributed to the building construction services segment mainly consisted of revenue recognised from the state archive project, Yayasan International School Sibu project, Yayasan International School Kuching project, Sekolah Daif Tambay project and Sekolah Daif Tebedu project.

Melaka outlines five priorities for Sungai Udang under new initiative
MELAKA: The Melaka state government is prioritising five key focus areas in the Sungai Udang state constituency under the "Wakil Rakyat Untuk Rakyat" (WRUR) initiative. Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said these include public infrastructure, healthcare, education, community welfare and development, as well as the Digital Village initiative. Among the infrastructure projects was the RM44.8mil upgrade of the water reticulation system at Kem Terendak, scheduled to begin in May 2026 and be completed within two years. "Additionally, four road resurfacing projects valued at RM1.24mil are being implemented by local authorities, with one completed and the remaining three currently in progress," he said after officiating the closing of the WRUR programme here on Saturday (May 31). Senior state executive councillor and Sungai Udang constituency coordinator Datuk Rais Yasin was also present. In the healthcare sector, a RM325mil Armed Forces Hospital project under the Defence Ministry was expected to be completed by January 2029. Upgrades to the Sungai Udang Health and Dental Clinics, with a combined cost of RM450,000, are set to begin later this year and be completed by March 2026. For education, the computer lab at MRSM Terendak would be upgraded for RM400,000 by October. The government was also acquiring land for a new building at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Udang, estimated to cost RM2mil, and plans to prioritise the construction of a new religious school (SRA JAIM Sungai Udang) in 2025. Ab Rauf said immediate repairs would also be carried out at SRA JAIM Bertam Ulu and SJK(C) Bertam Ulu. On community welfare, the Social Welfare Department was disbursing RM1.21mil monthly to assist 554 eligible recipients in the Sungai Udang area. Under the Digital Village initiative, two villages - Kampung Sungai Udang and Kampung Bukit Mentangau - involving 357 homes have completed the digital address sticker installation.
