Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office Day 1 Prediction: Aamir Khan starrer gets off to a slow start, earn Rs…
Superstar Aamir Khan's most anticipated film, Sitaare Zameen Par , has finally hit the theaters. Helmed by R.S. Prasanna, this film is a sequel to the 2007 blockbuster, Taare Zameen Par . As per the early reviews, the film is receiving a positive response from audiences and critics, which can be a game-changer for Aamir Khan. Early estimates predict that Sitaare Zameen Par is expected to open with big numbers. Early Prediction For Sitaare Zameen Par As per India Today, Trade analyst Taran Adarsh has mentioned that the film can show its huge growth on the word of mouth. He said, 'The box office run currently depends on word-of-mouth. Since the promotion for the film is very light, now the film's success depends only on Aamir Khan's face value. For the opening weekend, it could be around Rs 30 crore.' He further added, 'Since it's a sequel to Taare Zameen Par, and the 2007 film did really well in its time, I hope Sitaare Zameen Par works well for Aamir. While the film's numbers won't go beyond Taare Zameen Par, it should at least touch a success limit, unlike his recent movies,' Meanwhile, as per early estimates shown by trade website Sacnilk, by this time, Aamir Khan's starrer has earned Rs 1.68 crore (more to be earned). As per Sacnilk the film has received booking worth Rs 1.09 crore till 11 AM and if one adds block bookings the collection jumps to Rs 3.7 crore, selling a respectable 42,021 tickets across 6,834 shows nationwide. Not surprisingly, the Hindi version leads the tally, raking in nearly Rs 99.4 lakh from 32,781 tickets across 6,470 shows. The film's average ticket pricing (ATP) in the Hindi belt stands at Rs 243, indicating a slightly premium ticketing strategy — possibly targeting urban family audiences. Interestingly, the film has also found takers in the southern markets. In the Telugu-speaking regions, it managed to sell over 8,200 tickets for Rs 8.14 lakh, while its Tamil version clocked Rs 1.27 lakh through 1,007 tickets. While modest, these numbers reflect Aamir Khan's lingering pan-India appeal. For Aamir Khan, Sitaare Zameen Par isn't just another film — it's a critical test of his box office credibility after the underwhelming performance of Laal Singh Chaddha. While advance booking numbers may not be record-shattering by Aamir's own past standards, they suggest cautious optimism, with decent family and emotional drama audiences likely to turn up for weekend shows. Moreover, the emotional connect of the film's subject — centred around acceptance, love, and familial bonds — combined with R.S. Prasanna's sensitive direction and Genelia's long-awaited comeback, could give Sitaare Zameen Par the walk-in boost it needs to find its word-of-mouth set to play a decisive role, all eyes will be on its weekend trajectory.
