FAMU football releases kickoff times for 2025 home schedule; will play two night games

Details continue to be released about Florida A&M football's 2025 schedule. On Thursday, June 12, the Rattlers announced the kickoff times for their five home games on Ken Riley at Bragg Memorial Stadium. Advertisement On Saturday, Sept. 13, FAMU's Week 3 home opener versus Albany State will be a nighttime kickoff, starting at 7 p.m. The Rattlers versus Golden Rams is a homecoming for Albany State head coach Quinn Gray, a record-breaking quarterback at FAMU and a member of the school's sports hall of fame. The Rattlers' Southwestern Athletic Conference home opener versus the Alabama State Hornets, a Week 5 matchup, will begin at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27. The following week, FAMU hosts North Carolina Central, a team it last faced in a 28-21 victory in 2019, at 3 p.m. FAMU's awaited homecoming football game versus Alcorn State will get a 4 p.m. kickoff. FAMU versus Alcorn State's Week 8 game on Saturday, Oct. 18, will be the teams' first meeting since 1987, a game the Braves prevailed in 17-15. Advertisement FAMU's home finale will be under the bright lights against the defending Black College Football National Champions, Jackson State, starting at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1. Since the Rattlers joined the SWAC in 2021, the winner of the FAMU-Jackson State has moved on to claim the league title and advance to the Celebration Bowl, which is the de facto Black College National title game. Last year, the Jackson State Tigers hosted and defeated the Rattlers 35-21 en route to a 12-2 record and a Celebration Bowl victory over South Carolina State. Albany State names Nescotia Harrison director of football operations

Staff Reports ALBANY — Albany State University has announced the hiring of Nescotia 'Scotty' Harrison as the new Director of Football Operations, effective May 12. Harrison, a rising star in football administration, brings a wealth of experience in collegiate football logistics, NCAA compliance, and student-athlete support to the Golden Rams program. Advertisement 'Joining the Albany State RAMily is an incredible honor,' Harrison said. 'I look forward to contributing to the HBCU legacy of excellence and supporting our student-athletes both on and off the field. This program holds something truly special, and I'm proud to be involved.' Harrison arrives at Albany State following a successful tenure as the Director of Football Operations and NFL Liaison at North Carolina A&T State University, where she managed team travel, recruitment logistics, budgets, and compliance efforts. A recent graduate of Wingate University with a Master of Business Administration in Data Analytics, Harrison also has experience in operational leadership at both NCAA Division I and II institutions. Her resume includes key roles at Wingate University and participation in high-profile events such as the College Football Playoff National Championship and the Las Vegas Bowl through the Dream Foundation. Albany State head football coach Quinn Gray Sr. expressed confidence in Harrison's ability to make an immediate impact.'We are excited to welcome 'Scotty' as our Director of Football Operations,' Gray said. Her hands-on experience and passion for HBCUs make her a valuable addition to the Albany State athletics department. Harrison is no stranger to the SIAC. A 2022 graduate of Allen University, she was a dual scholar-athlete, excelling in volleyball and track and field while also serving as the football team manager. Harrison demonstrated leadership on campus as the founding president of the Sports Management Society and represented her HBCU proudly as the 89th Miss Allen University. With her extensive background in operations and student-athlete support, Harrison's appointment marks a significant step for Albany State football as the Golden Rams continue to build a program rooted in excellence and community engagement.
