Hyd man held for flying drone near Gateway

Mumbai: A 23-year-old man from Hyderabad, Abraham Lincoln, was arrested for allegedly flying a drone near the Gateway of India and Taj Mahal Palace Hotel , a high-security zone in Colaba, without official permission on Tuesday morning. Around 4am, a Quick Response Team (QRT), including Sudhakar Raosaheb Patil and API Sudhir Kamthe, was patrolling near P Ramchandani Road, when they spotted the drone overhead. The QRT officers traced the drone's signal to a vehicle parked near Jetty No. 5 and caught Lincoln with the remote control. He allegedly admitted to flying the drone without official authorisation. Police seized the drone, a grey DJI Air 3S, along with the remote control marked 'CNS', worth around Rs 2.7 lakh and arrested him. He was then taken to Colaba police station where a case was registered against him.
