Thai actor Prom Ratchapat Worasarn accused of having sex with young female fans

The Thai actor has been accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women on social media. Photo: Prom Ratchapat Worasarn/Instagram Following serious allegations of sexual misconduct, Thai actor Prom Ratchapat Worasarn has been dropped by his management agency, YWPB Official. Since June 14, screenshots have surfaced on social media, allegedly showing the actor coercing women into having unprotected sex. Some of these encounters were supposedly with his teenage female fans. Prior to these private meet-ups, he would request that they consume alcohol beforehand. In one instance, Prom allegedly refused to use a condom, calling it a 'waste of plastic'. In another, he supposedly urged a woman to abort a child that he had fathered. When she asked if he could sign the child's birth certificate if she were to keep the child, he was said to have replied: 'Sorry, I can't do that.' Another user claimed she had to pay for the cost of emergency contraceptive pills and subsequently getting pregnant out of her own pocket. YWPB Official released a media statement on June 15, saying: 'YWPB has conducted a thorough inquiry with Prom Ratchapat and has reviewed all related content, including images and conversations circulating online. 'As a result, YWPB and Prom Ratchapat have mutually agreed to terminate his contract with the company, effective immediately, to allow him the time and space needed to address the situation appropriately.' Prom has yet to respond, but has since unfollowed everyone on Instagram. He has 1.3 million followers on the platform. The actor has appeared in Thai series such as Jack & Joker: U Steal My Heart! (2024) and En Of Love (2020). – The Straits Times/Asia News Network

Cwmbran High School bans 30 from year 11 leavers prom

The students at Cwmbran High School have been excluded from their year 11 leavers prom because they did not accumulate enough 'prom points' to attend. Many parents received an email from the school, which stated: 'Good afternoon parent/carer, as you are aware we have been waiting as long as possible leading up to May half term to make a final decision on students who are invited to attend Prom 2025. 'We have left it until this point to allow every student the opportunity to accumulate the necessary Prom points and meet the criteria to attend. 'Unfortunately, your child will not be invited to prom as a result of not meeting multiple set criteria that was outlined at the beginning of the year.' Posting in online group Cwmbran Community, Cheryl wrote: 'Really questionable decisions from Cwmbran High advising 30 kids during exam season that they are not allowed to attend prom? 'What a way to crush their spirit during the most stressful time of their childhood.' She told the Argus: 'We moved from London in August, medication was hard to get hold of, so Dylan struggled in the beginning. 'I requested a meeting with the head as they kept excluding Dylan for ADHD behaviour. 'I sent multiple emails to the head, all ignored, once support was in place Dylan settled better. He has been doing so well in his exams and was so looking forward to prom. 'For two days after Dylan was told he could not go, he was upset, deflated and depressed, said there was nothing to look forward to.' 'I'm so angry as they seemed to have picked 30 kids out from nowhere.' Cheryl Berry mother of 15-year-old Dylan who has been banned from his leaver's prom (Image: Cheryl Berry) Head teacher Matthew Sims said: 'Our Year 11 Prom is a long-standing tradition and a highlight of the school year. It's an opportunity for our school community to get together to celebrate the pupils' hard work, positive attitude, and commitment to our shared values. 'All pupils are invited to attend the prom at the start of Year 11, on the basis of good attendance, punctuality and behaviour throughout the year. The criteria is explained to pupils and parents throughout the year. 'Unfortunately, if a pupil's behaviour and attendance consistently falls below acceptable levels, they are no longer able to attend. We understand this can be very disappointing for those pupils and their families, but maintaining standards is an important part of our commitment to fostering a respectful and responsible school culture.' The decision has promoted a reaction on social media, with some locals are even calling for a rival community prom. Keri Bates said: 'Everyone else should refuse to go too. Start standing together against the powers that be at a young age. 'Someone should arrange an alternative prom where everyone is invited.' Jeanette Marilyn Finch wrote: 'Rotters let these teenagers have some fun.'

Orchard Park High School creates car crash simulation before prom

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) — An annual demonstration of a simulated car crash was held at Orchard Park High School Friday morning to warn students about the dangers of driving while intoxicated after prom. 'The message we want students to take from this is to make memories, and to make good memories, to make good decisions that go along with those memories, and realize that every single choice that they make in life can have consequences, good and bad,' said Chief Patrick Fitzgerald. Though the demonstration is fake, the lessons learned are real. 'Don't drink and drive, don't commit these crimes,' said senior Juliana Place. 'Be careful, think before you act, understand that these are very heavy metal machines that can, and will kill you, if you are not careful.' Nearly 35 people a day die in the country in drunk-driving crashes, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation. Thirty percent of drivers between the ages of 15 and 20 who died in car crashes in 2023 had a Blood Alcohol Content of .01 or higher. The school has partnered with first responders for more than twenty years to hold this demonstration. 'It's super impactful, every year we get a good amount of kids that say they were really influenced by it in a good way,' said Amanda Mohler, a social worker at the school that planned the event. 'I feel like a lot of kids think they're invincible and they're untouchable at times, and it's important to know that there are consequences. Just because you think you're driving safe doesn't mean the next person behind you might be.' Months go into planning the event. High school students created a storyline and a video of the events leading up to the crash, and then the consequences. This year they named the project an acronym of 'P.R.O.M.' 'Prom stands for 'Please Return on Monday, so with this idea in mind, our message is just really be responsible,' said senior Maddy Shurtliffe.
