Play on 3 RSS chiefs ‘Sangh Ganga Ke...' to be flagged off today

1 2 Nagpur: As the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) commemorates its centenary year, a special drama titled 'Sangh Ganga Ke Teen Bhagirath' on its first three chiefs is set to be staged across Maharashtra. The two-act play will be staged starting from June 22, offering a compelling and dramatic retelling of the Sangh's century-long journey or Shatabdi Sangh Yatra. This initiative will be formally inaugurated with a Flag Ceremony on Saturday, June 21 at 1pm, at Jamnalal Bajaj Hall, Barrister Abhyankar Smarak Trust, Dhantoli. The ceremony will feature city leaders and RSS affiliates, including MLAs Pravin Datke and Mohan Mate, MLC Sandeep Joshi, and Prasanna Hardas, national committee member of Krida Bharti. Starting June 22, the two-and-a-half-hour play will be performed at multiple cities across Maharashtra, highlighting the rich legacy of the RSS through the lives of its first three Sarsanghchalaks — Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, visionary founder; MS Golwalkar, affectionately known as Guruji, who expanded the Sangh nationally; and Balasaheb Deoras, who introduced significant organisational reforms and broadened public engagement. Blending narration, dramatization, music, and audiovisual elements, the play aims to vividly showcase key milestones in RSS history while bringing to life its foundational ideals of seva (service), discipline, and nation-building. Entry to these events is free for all. The event is coordinated by the Tararani Foundation and supported by Vishwaraj Environment Ltd. (By Krisha Panchmatia)

Datke demands urgent drain cleaning in Central Nagpur

Nagpur: Central Nagpur MLA Pravin Datke on Tuesday criticised the civic administration for its failure to complete desilting of key drains ahead of monsoon. The BJP leader, accompanied by former corporators and party functionaries, reviewed flood-mitigation efforts in a high-level meeting with Municipal Commissioner Abhijeet Chaudhari and civic officials at Nagpur Municipal Corporation's headquarters in Civil Lines. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Datke directed NMC to prioritise cleaning operations in areas like Hatti Nala, Rahatekarwadi Nala, Jamdar School vicinity, Lendi Talao stretch, and the drain near Raman Science Centre. "Water stagnation and garbage blockages in these drains have become a recurring nightmare for citizens. Immediate action must be taken before heavy rains arrive," he told officials, warning of public backlash if negligence continues. The meeting also exposed broader civic failures. BJP city president and former Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari criticised the administration for disbanding a zonal desilting team that earlier handled stormwater drains in narrow Central Nagpur lanes. "Now a centralised team is overburdened, and our zones are neglected," he said. Tiwari also criticised the delay in procuring a Rs1.5 crore 'octopus' sewer machine sanctioned during his tenure, lamenting that NMC continues to rent equipment instead. "Public suffering has peaked, and there's no grievance redressal in the absence of elected corporators," said Datke. "For three years, civic basics are being ignored. If issues aren't resolved within a month, we will take to the streets," he warned.

Road to competitive exams, govt jobs runs through NMC libraries

Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation-run libraries are giving wings to the ambitions of youngsters aspiring to crack competitive and recruitment exams. Sources said, around 150 aspirants successfully land government jobs every year for about a decade given the resource material, accessible study rooms and reading halls available at these well-equipped libraries. Students preparing for undergraduate and postgraduate entrance exams in medicine, engineering, law, and central universities also extensively use the e-libraries , libraries, and study rooms. A modest initiative, which began to promote reading, has now evolved into a city-wide academic support system that is driving tangible career outcomes. "Considering the evolving nature of competitive exams and increasing future demands, the civic body has intensified its efforts to expand both the number of study centres and the range of available facilities," said a senior NMC official. The NMC's initiative aims to nurture intellectual growth, encourage reading habits, raise awareness, and cultivate an educated society through a wave of ideological transformation. To meet the needs of students preparing for competitive exams, NMC ensures availability of essential resources such as magazines, newspapers, current affairs content, exam guides, college textbooks, and literature, including poetry, stories, novels, dramas, and reference books for general readers. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Yogyakarta Jw: AI guru Andrew Ng recommends: Read These 5 Books And Turn Your Life Aroun...
