Sarojini Nagar: 3 beat boy, held under Pocso Act
Three men, all vendors at Sarojini Nagar market in south Delhi, were arrested on Tuesday and booked under various provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act and the Juvenile Justice Act after two disturbing videos emerged of them assaulting, stripping, and threatening a nine-year-old boy at the market on Sunday. The assault occurred on Sunday after the vendors allegedly suspected the boy, a Class 3 student and a native of Nepal, of petty thefts in the market, police said. The incident came to light after two videos—reportedly recorded by the accused themselves—were widely circulated on WhatsApp. The accused—identified as Pankaj Kumar, Pradeep Kumar, and Vishal Singh—were booked under Section 12 (sexual harassment) of Pocso Act, Section 75 (cruelty to children) JJ Act, and various criminal charges, including assault and wrongful confinement. In the first video, one of the men is seen forcibly unzipping the boy's pants while another films the act. The child, stripped of his shirt, is heard crying and pleading as the accused hurl abuses and attempt to remove his trousers. One of them is heard saying, 'Show me your underwear,' while another pours a liquid into the boy's pants. The second clip shows the boy being shoved into a car, where one of the assailants slams his head against the steering wheel, triggering the horn. A voice in the background taunts, 'He will die inside the car because of the summer.' Another threatens, 'I will kill you.' Deputy commissioner of police (southwest) Amit Goel confirmed that the videos were brought to their attention through WhatsApp. 'We identified the victim, a nine-year-old boy whose mother works as a cook in the market. After recording his statement, we registered a case under POCSO, the Juvenile Justice Act, and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS),' he said. 'We called the family and took the statement of the boy. We identified all the accused and arrested them' said the DCP. The three accused—Pankaj Kumar (a clothes vendor) and his aides, Pradeep Kumar and Vishal Singh—were swiftly arrested. A senior police officer stated that while this appears to be their first such offense, the brutality of the act warranted strict legal action. 'We don't think they have done this before. On Sunday, they suspected the boy of committing some small thefts and grabbed him. They assaulted him for some time and tortured him before threatening him,' the officer said.

3 held for assault on 9-year-old in Sarojini market
New Delhi: After a disturbing video showing a nine-year-old boy from Nepal being assaulted in south Delhi's Sarojini Nagar market surfaced online, Delhi Police nabbed three men in connection with the incident. The video, which circulated widely on social media on Tuesday, showed the boy crying and begging to be left alone while being slapped, abused and humiliated by a group of men. One of the men poured water into the boy's pants, while another used his foot to taunt and assault him. Police said the boy was a Class III student. The assault took place both inside a shop and a car. "One man is seen holding the boy's arms and waistband, slapping and threatening him, while another pours water down his pants. A third man is seen touching him with his foot and verbally abusing him," a senior police officer said. On the basis of a complaint filed by the victim's mother, a case was registered under sections 115 (voluntarily causing hurt), 127 (wrongful confinement) and 351 (criminal intimidation) of BNS, along with sections of Juvenile Justice Act and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act. Police identified the three accused as Pankaj (35), a resident of Shahdara, who runs a pant-shirt stall at Sarojini Nagar Market; Pradeep Kumar (29) of Mohammadpur village, who works as a helper at Pankaj's stall; and Vishal (30), also of Mohammadpur, who assists at the same stall in the market. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 임플란트, 지금 시작하세요 [자세히 보기] 임플란트 더 알아보기 Undo All three accused were nabbed, cops said. Sarojini Nagar Market Shopkeepers Association issued a clarification, distancing itself from the accused. In a joint statement by Group IV representatives Ashok Kalra and Ashok Randhawa, the association said none of the individuals involved was part of the registered market community. "These individuals are roadside vendors and not recognised members of Sarojini Nagar legal shopkeeper community. We strongly condemn any act of abuse or harassment, especially involving children, and support lawful action taken by authorities," the statement read.
