Housemaid among three arrested for theft in Seeb
Muscat: The Police Command in the Governorate of Muscat has arrested a Filipina housemaid along with two Pakistani nationals for attempting to steal jewellery and large sums of money from a house in the Wilayat of Al Seeb. According to a statement issued by the Royal Oman Police (ROP), the suspects were caught in possession of stolen gold items and cash during the operation. Authorities confirmed that legal procedures are currently underway. The Royal Oman Police urged residents to remain cautious and to report any suspicious activity, reaffirming their ongoing efforts to safeguard communities across the Sultanate.

ROP arrest several in theft and narcotics cases
Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) continues its efforts to combat crime across the Sultanate, with several significant arrests made in recent days involving theft and drug trafficking. In North Al Batinah Governorate, the Police Command arrested a citizen and a Pakistani expatriate in connection with the theft of a vehicle parked in the Muwailih area of Sohar. Legal procedures are currently underway. In a separate case, the same police command successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle over 95 kilograms of crystal meth and morphine by sea. Three Omani citizens were arrested for possession of the narcotics with intent to traffic. The suspects are currently undergoing legal proceedings. Meanwhile, in Dhofar Governorate, the Police Command apprehended two Jordanian nationals accused of stealing cash, gold jewelry, and electronic devices from several homes in Salalah and Seeb. Legal action is being taken against the suspects. The Royal Oman Police reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining public security and called on residents to report suspicious activities through official communication channels.

Al-Sulaymaniyah Police on 'Eid al-Fitr': readiness, strict plan
Shafaq News/ Al-Sulaymaniyah Police Command announced on Friday that a heightened security plan will be in place during the upcoming Eid al-Fitr holiday. The Police Command added that the plan will focus on securing public areas and high-population zones, including ongoing search and inspection operations to apprehend wanted individuals and lawbreakers. In a statement, the police confirmed that the plan encompasses protecting citizens, places of worship, and religious shrines. Additionally, increased security will be provided for markets, commercial centers, restaurants, parks, and amusement areas, which typically see a surge in visitors during the holiday. Protection will also be intensified around cemeteries and burial sites, which attract significant numbers of visitors during this time. The police command noted that senior security leaders would be on the ground, leading their units in direct supervision of the plan's implementation. In addition, the plan will include field inspections to track criminals and lawbreakers, with an emphasis on enhancing efforts to combat organized crime. Furthermore, emergency response units, including patrols, fire crews, and ambulances, will be stationed near public and recreational areas to ensure a swift response to any emergencies. Plainclothes intelligence teams will also be deployed to monitor negative behaviors and address them according to legal procedures. Al-Sulaymaniyah Police Command confirmed that all security forces have been on alert since Thursday, and will maintain the heightened security measures until after the holiday to ensure the stability of the province.

Deadly dispute claims one life in Dhofar; expat arrested
Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has apprehended an expatriate following the murder of a person of the same nationality in the Wilayat of Salalah, Dhofar Governorate. The arrest was made in response to a fatal altercation that occurred due to ongoing conflicts between the two individuals. In a statement released by the ROP, it was confirmed that the Police Command in the Governorate of Dhofar has arrested an expatriate of Asian nationality for the murder of another individual of the same nationality within the Wilayat of Salalah. The incident stemmed from disputes between the two. The legal procedures are now being completed against the arrested individual.
