Denver weather: Afternoon storms, staying warm
DENVER (KDVR) — More warm temperatures are in Denver's weather forecast, alongside the chance for afternoon thunderstorms. Showers and thunderstorms will wrap up Wednesday evening, followed by clearing overnight. Low temperatures will fall to the upper 50s, which is about 5 degrees warmer than normal for this time of year. Then, as highs climb into the upper 80s, clouds will build in by the afternoon ahead of a few showers and thunderstorms. Some storms could become strong to severe in the eastern plains, producing large hail and damaging wind gusts. Friday will follow the familiar trend of morning sunshine, followed by high temperatures getting capped in the upper 80s as clouds roll in ahead of afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Sunshine and hot temperatures dominate the forecast for Father's Day weekend. Saturday is on track to be Denver's first day of the season in the 90s, ahead of an isolated chance for afternoon thunderstorms. Sunday will be the hottest day of the week with high temperatures climbing to the low to mid-90s alongside plenty of sunshine. Temperatures will stay above normal for the start of the workweek, topping off in the upper 80s on Monday, before falling to more seasonal levels in the mid-80s on Tuesday and Wednesday. DENVER (KDVR) — A Pinpoint Weather Alert Day has been issued for Thursday evening as more thunderstorms are in Denver's weather forecast Thursday evening and again on Friday. Because of the risk for storms, a severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for areas along and east of the I-25 corridor until 8 p.m., and a tornado watch has been issued until 8 p.m. for far southeastern Colorado. Denver weather: After days of rain, how do totals compare to last year? Strong to severe storms will continue Thursday evening, before drying up Thursday night. Low temperatures will fall toward 50 degrees, which is seasonal for this time of year. Denver weather: Sunny skies over weekend before showers next week
DENVER (KDVR) — Mostly sunny skies return to the Denver weather forecast this weekend as highs make their way into the 70s and 80s. Public's help asked to give RiNo rhino a name Most of the rain that will come on Saturday remains to the south with the potential of an isolated storm or two in the metro after 2 p.m.. Most will remain dry, however. High temperatures return into the upper 70s and lower 80s with winds out of the north and west. There will be lots of sunshine in the first half of the day, with clouds building in the afternoon. Showers and storms will bubble up mainly to the south of Denver, though the city could get swiped with some rain by Saturday evening. The clouds that will linger Saturday afternoon will clear out overnight. Overnight lows will drop into the middle to lower 50s with winds shifting out of the north and east. There could be another round of late-day storms on Sunday. Again, the chance is low, meaning most places will not see the showers. Rain chances will quickly increase on Monday through Wednesday, with Tuesday bringing the best chance for rain. There is the possibility of getting more than an inch to an inch and a half of moisture over the three days. May brought above normal rain and is responsible for everything being so green! So, it looks like that trend may continue for the start of June next week. Denver weather: Warm Friday, but rain for the holiday weekend
DENVER (KDVR) — Friday will be the warmest and driest day of the extended Denver weather forecast. The long Memorial Day holiday weekend is unfortunately looking fairly grey, cool and wet, especially on Sunday. Some thunderstorms will be possible Saturday afternoon, some of which may be on the strong to severe side. More widespread and steady rain is expected for Sunday, but severe weather is not forecast. FOX31 Newsletters: Sign up for weather alerts from the Pinpoint Weather team Friday afternoon will see June-like temperatures with highs climbing into the middle 80s across northeast Colorado. Parts of southeast Colorado will climb into the lower 90s with middle 90s also possible. The high country will also be unseasonably mild. Denver will be mostly dry overnight Friday, although one or two light showers will be possible. Lows will also be slightly above normal when we cool into the lower 50s. Winds will be lighter. Sunday looks to be the wettest day of the next seven. Rain may be heavy at times. Those spotty areas of rain and thunderstorms will continue through Memorial Day Monday. Rain totals may exceed one inch in some communities through Monday night. Temperatures will also be cool Sunday and Monday with highs only in the lower to middle 60s. A gradual warming trend will see us back in the 70s Tuesday through the rest of next work week, but daily opportunities for rain will persist into the final days of May.
