KUCHING (June 23): The late Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma'ani Tuanku Bujang was a pillar of strength and steadfast support to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, said Works Minister Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi.
Nanta said her passing is a profound loss not only to the Abang Johari's family but also to the people of Sarawak, who cherished her warmth and compassion.
'She was truly the Premier's source of strength. As the saying goes, 'Behind every successful man is a woman' and this rang true in her case,' he said.
Nanta said this when met by reporters after launching the Periodic Works Balloting Ceremony for G1 to G4 Bumiputera Contractors under the Federal Road Maintenance Contract for Sarawak 2025 at a local hotel here today.
The Kapit MP also recalled seeing Juma'ani frequently accompany Abang Johari to official functions, including in remote rural areas like his constituency, which was a testament to her commitment to the people's welfare.
'We have lost someone we held in the highest regard,' he added.
In a Facebook post, Nanta extended his condolences to the Premier and his family, describing Juma'ani as a generous and humble figure who was close to the hearts of many.
'Her passing is not only a loss to the family but to all Sarawakians who knew and respected her for her kindness and people-oriented nature.
'May her soul be blessed, her sins forgiven, and her place among the righteous,' he wrote.
Juma'ani, 76, passed away at a private medical centre in Kuching at 3.34am today.
She was the daughter of Sarawak's second Yang Dipertua Negeri, Tun Tuanku Bujang Tuanku Othman.
