Barack And Michelle Obama Share Rare Photo With Daughters
At just 10 and 7 years old, Malia and Sasha Obama's lives were flipped upside-down when their dad became the president of the United States in 2008. And so, it's hardly surprising that they've both opted for privacy as adults.
For context, both Barack and Michelle have talked about their daughters' shared desire to keep out of the 'limelight' since leaving the White House in 2017, with the former president saying last year that the girls 'go out of their way to not try to leverage' their famous last name.
While promoting her book, The Light We Carry, in 2022, Michelle also said she's extra conscious of how much she talks publicly about her daughters in order to protect their privacy. 'You have to pull back on how much you share about their lives and how much you put them back out in the public eye because they're not looking for the attention,' she told People En Español.
While the sisters are occasionally photographed by paparazzi, they don't use public social media accounts, and it's not often that we get new pictures of them together with their parents.
Which brings us to now, and Barack and Michelle have each posted a sweet family photo on Instagram in honor of Sasha's 24th birthday — and don't they look great?!!??
Barack captioned his post: 'Happy birthday, Sasha! Watching you grow into the incredible woman you are has been a true gift. I'll always be proud of you and will always be here for you.' While the former first lady wrote: 'Happy birthday to my sweet girl, Sasha! Can't believe how quickly time has flown. I'm so proud of the woman you've become. Love you always! 💕🥳🎉'
It seems the girls are thriving in life! And looking incredibly stylish while they do it.
