Sri Lankan School Muscat shines globally with Edexcel world prizes
Muscat: Sri Lankan School Muscat (SLSM) has once again made history, with two of its students achieving exceptional global recognition in the May-June 2024 Pearson Edexcel examinations. The students secured five world prizes, along with numerous accolades at both the Middle Eastern and Omani levels, reaffirming the school's reputation for academic excellence. Among the outstanding achievers, Sajaan Amrith Bandara emerged as a top performer by securing the highest mark in the world for Edexcel IGCSE Mathematics A, achieving a perfect score of 200/200 across both Paper 1 and Paper 2. This remarkable feat placed him at the top among 43,972 candidates worldwide in the May/June 2024 series. In addition to this, he earned all A grades* across nine subjects, including one Grade 8 and eight Grade 9s, further cementing his position as an exceptional scholar. Alongside him, Yathurshan Manoharan distinguished himself with a perfect 100 percent score in all four International Advanced Subsidiary (IAS) subjects — Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Further Mathematics — earning him the Highest Mark in the World award in multiple disciplines. His dedication and perseverance, coupled with the academic support provided by SLSM, contributed to this phenomenal accomplishment, serving as an inspiration to students worldwide.
