Orwell takes steps to put two renewal levies on ballot
ORWELL — Village council voted to place two renewal levies on the Nov. 4 ballot during a Tuesday afternoon meeting. A three-mill, five-year operating levy and a one-mill fire levy were approved for placement on the ballot. Council approved a $188,475 paving project on Penniman Road. The contract is with Ronyak Paving, and will be enacted after July Ohio Public Works Commission approval. Members of the Orwell Parks and Recreation Board asked council how they could carry over money they raise for future projects in the village. Orwell Village Manager Sean Ratican suggested another meeting take place to review options. He said a possible solution would be the creation of a foundation that could house the money instead of the general fund, where accounts are emptied at the end of the year. Board members said one of the their goals is to do more with Christmas decorations, and the $4,000 village allotment provided annually cannot handle the financial needs of the project. Village council heard concerns about traffic speeds near Chaffee Park, as people try to cross Route 45 for the village concert series, which takes place each Wednesday through the summer. Ratican suggested a separate meeting with those involved to try and come up with a solution. He suggested a different parking area as one possible solution.

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard leave Adam Scott 'deeply flattering,' 'deeply insulting' voicemails about 'Severance'
Severance-heads, please welcome Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard into the fold. Adam Scott recently discussed his mind-bending Apple TV+ show with the Nobody Wants This actress, and Bell revealed that she and her husband are among the sci-fi series' most obsessed —and vocal — fans. "Now seems like a good place for you to maybe officially apologize for the voicemails that you and Dax leave me," Scott said during their new conversation for Variety's Actors on Actors series. "I would try, but I'm not that good of an actor," Bell responded. "The endings to every episode of Severance are so biologically frustrating that I don't know how you guys expect anyone to sleep after an episode with that level of a cliffhanger." Bell then confirmed that she and her husband blow up Scott's voicemail after episodes finish. "What Dax and I tend to do is, when we see someone whose work we love or whose work frustrates us — as in your case — we leave you a nice, long, detailed, unedited voice memo," she said. "And you got a lot of those." Scott, who worked with Bell on Party Down and Parks and Recreation, confessed that he's saved the furious messages. "I've kept all of them," he said. "They're hilarious and deeply flattering, but also deeply insulting." Bell recalled her favorite of her husband's impassioned voice notes. "[He] pretty much screamed into the voice memo, 'Hey, Adam! Kristen just fell out of a two-story window,'" she said. "'I bet you'd like to know how she's doing. I'll tell you next week!'" Scott also revealed that Bell and Shepard pestered him about Severance's shooting schedule, as the show took three years to return after its first season wrapped. "You guys called while we were in the midst of shooting season 2 and just said, 'Hey, just curious, are you guys shooting this one minute per week?'" he remembered the couple asking. "'Why is it taking so f---ing long?'" The actor joked that season 3 will be delayed even more solely to spite Bell and Shepard. "Just because you guys left that message, it's now going to take seven years for the next season," Scott fact, shortly after the series was renewed, Severance creator Dan Erickson told Entertainment Weekly that he's striving to deliver the third season more swiftly than the previous one. "Having done it twice now, there is more of a sense of understanding procedurally what works and how to streamline it," he said. "So our goal is never to draw out people's pain for three years. Donald Trump showed up for a performance of "Les Misérables" at the Kennedy Center on Wednesday night. In case you're unfamiliar, since being in office, Trump fired the Kennedy Center's director and board, replaced them with his own supporters, and made himself chair. He now has significant control over the center's leadership and decisions. Let's just say, some people in the audience weren't thrilled about his attendance. Trace Cyrus's Scathing Instagram Post About His "Evil" Dad, Billy Ray, Is So Wild That You Have To Read It
Trace Cyrus is really at odds with his dad. On June 10, Miley Cyrus's older brother posted an Instagram calling out their dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, with a fairly heartbreaking accusation, claiming that he skipped their grandmother's funeral to attend a fashion show in Italy. "This man is so hungry for fame it's pathetic," Trace wrote with a photo of his dad. "He really flew to Italy for a fashion show but wouldn't come to LA for Mammie's funeral while he was still married to my mom." Billy Ray and Tish were married for almost 30 years before they split in 2022. Trace is one of Billy Ray's five kids with Tish Cyrus, along with Brandi Cyrus, 38, Miley Cyrus, 32, Braison Cyrus, 31, and Noah Cyrus, 25. "Even after his daughter got him a 60k private jet like he demanded," Trace continued, "then he still didn't come even after the plane was paid for." "I'm past the point of even caring if I ever speak to him again," he said. "I've surpassed him in every metric as a man on this planet," Trace continued. "There's nothing left to learn from his [sic] except from his mistakes. I had hope at one point but I'm convinced he's finally a lost cause." "I'll continue to thrive and as the oldest son of the family the Cyrus last name will continue through me and my many children I plan to have. I will raise them the right way and be a part of their life no matter what the circumstances are." On the same day as Trace's posts, Miley revealed on an episode of Monica Lewinsky's Reclaiming podcast how she fixed her "hard" family feud with Billy Ray. "Half of us weren't speaking to each other at one point," Miley said, "and we cleaned all that up." She said of her parents' divorce, "In that situation, I watched what happens when you don't clean things up as they're happening. They really do stack, and then all of a sudden you go, 'Oh my god, it's been 10 years, and this is a mess that I barely even know how to start. This is emotional hoarding.'" "I just kind of bust through the pile that's stacked and just go, 'I'm here. You're here. Let's start by having a good time together,'" Miley shared. "And then as we start bringing some happiness and joy into each other's life, then we'll just be in a better place to have these conversations. 'Cause I'd rather get it balanced first." "We're so messy we didn't even do any of that," Miley said, responding to Monica's question about family therapy. "To get each other in a room to even get to counseling would have been a war. So, it was easier to just go, 'White flag,'" she continued. "I always wanted my family to feel like I was the safe place that I always had the white flag when they came to talk to me."
