9-Year-Old Boy Slapped, Humiliated In Delhi Market, 3 Arrested: Cops

New Delhi: A nine-year-old boy was allegedly slapped, humiliated and verbally abused in public by a garment stall owner and his two employees in southwest Delhi's Sarojini Nagar market, police said on Tuesday. Two purported videos of the shocking meted out to the boy, who is a Nepalese, surfaced on social media, following which Delhi Police apprehended the three men for the incident, they said. In one of the disturbing videos that has gone viral on social media, a man is seen holding the boy with his unclasped belt to restrict his movement as the child cries for help. Another man steps forward and sprays what appears to be liquid soap or shampoo directly onto the child's hair and head. The same man then forcibly rubs the soap into the child's hair while mocking him. Loud verbal abuse and curses are heard throughout the video, with the child pleading to stop the assault. At one point, a third man intervenes and pokes the child with his foot, further humiliating him. The boy winces and tries to turn away, but is restrained by the man. In another video, a man is seen trying to shove the child inside a tempo while he is seen resisting. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Amit Goel said, "One of them is seen holding the boy by his hands and belt, while another pours water into his pants." Another man can be seen poking the boy with his foot and hurling verbal abuses, Goel said. The victim is a class three student and a native of Nepal. His mother works as a cook in the Sarojini Nagar Market area, he added. The purported video shows the child being slapped, abused, threatened and humiliated by three men, the DCP said. Taking cognisance of the video, police registered a case under sections 115(2) (Voluntarily causing hurt), 127(2) (Wrongful confinement), 351 (Criminal intimidation) of the BNS, Sections 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act (Punishment for cruelty to child) and Section 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act (Punishment for sexual harassment of a child). Pankaj (35), who owns a readymade garments stall at Sarojini Nagar Market, and Pradeep Kumar (29) and Vishal (30), both working as helpers at Pankaj's shop, were apprehended, police said.

Exclusive: Pankaj Vishnu on his brief role in Tenali Rama as Acharya Devomay — ‘Being part of the show was a dream come true experience'

Actor Pankaj Vishnu recently opened up about his special appearance as Acharya Devomay in the historical fiction series Tenali Rama. Though his role was brief, Pankaj shared with Times of India TV how meaningful and enriching the experience was for him as an actor. Talking about his fascination with historical and mythological tales, Pankaj said, 'I have always been fascinated by history and mythology and its characters. These beautiful stories are not only entertaining but have great teachings and learnings in them. So Tenali Rama, our own 'Birbal of South,' was always one of my favorite story characters since childhood. Being part of the show based on him was a dream come true experience. Though my part was limited to a story, it was a lovely experience and left me wanting for more.' Portraying Acharya Devomay, a brilliant scientist caught in a mysterious plot, came with its own set of challenges. Sharing his preparation process, Pankaj said, 'Acharya Devomay feels he has struck a bulls-eye with his invention and believes it to be the greatest of all time. As the genre of the show is light-hearted comedy, it was challenging to showcase his intelligence and wit through body language and dialogue delivery. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 15 Most Gorgeous Women, Ranked BigGlobalTravel Undo Like many scientists, he is a bit whimsical and vulnerable when it comes to his discoveries. Since my story spanned just 3-4 episodes, making an impact in fewer scenes was also challenging as an actor.' The storyline, which revolves around his character collaborating with Acharya Bhaskar before getting entangled in the latter's mysterious disappearance, added a new twist to the narrative. 'The look given to Acharya Devomay also helped to build the character in a way that would appeal to both children and grown-up audiences,' Pankaj added. When asked if he drew inspiration from any real-life scholars or scientists of that era, Pankaj shared, 'He is excited to collaborate with Acharya Bhaskar on a new formula but becomes emotional and panicky when Bhaskar goes missing. What will happen to the collaboration? Will their inventions bring a positive change in villagers' lives with Rama and Laxman's help? These questions unfold in this hilarious story.' Expressing his gratitude, he concluded, 'The actors, director, and creatives all helped me get the character right. Acharya Devomay is hyper and brings lots of energy to the narrative, making it even more fun to portray.'

High spirits, low profile: Nalanda liquor smugglers who dressed down to cash in

Patna: Pankaj and Kanchan, two young men from Nalanda district, led double lives – humble by appearance, but extravagant in lifestyle. By day, they posed as junk collectors and by night, they were liquor barons, ferrying sacks of foreign booze and beer from Uttar Pradesh to dry Bihar, fuelling a thriving black-market empire. The duo's clever disguise – tattered clothes and frayed slippers – fooled many. Few in their hometown knew the secret behind their sudden rise – plush homes, premium bikes and a carefree swagger funded by illicit liquor sales. But their charade unravelled on Sunday when the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Gaya Junction caught them red-handed. "The operation took place at Platform No. 1 of Gaya Junction," said Gaya GRP station SHO Rajesh Kumar. "RPF personnel, who had been maintaining vigilant surveillance of suspicious activities, spotted two people disembarking from a train with suspicious bags. Upon noticing the police presence, the suspects attempted to flee but were quickly arrested by the alert RPF team," he added. Inside the bags – 48 cans of beer and 120 bottles of premium foreign liquor worth around Rs 23,000. During interrogation, the pair admitted to long-running smuggling operations, transporting liquor via train to Gaya, and then on to Nalanda, where they sold it at up to three times the cost. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like I Tried the $0.87 Generic Viagra and Here's What Happened! fridayplans Learn More Undo "The arrested accused wore very simple clothes to represent themselves as being from a poor background," the SHO added. "It was further revealed that they built their own houses and owned premium bikes from the money earned from the liquor smuggling. They further admitted to living a lavish life in their village," he said. From railway platforms to rural riches, their tale is one of audacity and deception until the law finally caught up. Pankaj Tripathi opens up on shooting ‘minimal clothing' scene in public for ‘Metro… In Dino'; Insists 'it wasn't for sensationalism'

Pankaj Tripathi is known for playing bold and unique characters. But in his upcoming film 'Metro… In Dino', the actor has done something he has never tried before—he shot a scene in public wearing very little clothing. Running barefoot… almost! In the trailer of Anurag Basu 's 'Metro… In Dino', there's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment where Pankaj is seen walking through a busy street in broad daylight with almost nothing on. He is only wearing socks and has a piece of cloth covering his private parts. The scene looks funny at first, but it's actually a very important moment in the film. Talking about this daring scene, Pankaj said to Hindustan Times, 'It was a great scene, shot in a real location, and I did it for the first time. I was performing in a way where the clothing was minimal, but it was necessary for the role. It wasn't for sensationalism; it was an important part of the film's story.' Shot in real location with people What makes the scene even more interesting is that it was filmed in a real location, in front of real people. To capture honest reactions from the public, the crew used hidden cameras. This helped make the scene feel natural and more realistic. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Memperdagangkan CFD Emas dengan salah satu spread terendah? I was a bit nervous, but without this experiment, the storytelling wouldn't be complete. I even ran for a few days in preparation.' 'Metro… In Dino' 'Metro… In Dino' is a spiritual sequel to Anurag Basu's 2007 hit 'Life In A Metro'. Like the first film, this one also brings together an ensemble cast and tells different stories about people living in big cities and dealing with modern relationships. The cast includes Aditya Roy Kapur , Sara Ali Khan , Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Kay Kay Menon, Konkona Sen Sharma , Pankaj Tripathi, Neena Gupta , Anupam Kher , and Saswata Chatterjee. The music is composed by Pritam, who also created the much-loved songs of the original film. The film is set to release in cinemas on 4 July. Metro…In Dino - Official Trailer
