Attorney-General tops King's birthday honours list

(Bernama pic) KUALA LUMPUR : Attorney-General Dusuki Mokhtar topped the list of 104 recipients of the 2025 federal awards, medals and honours in conjunction with the official birthday of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim today. Dusuki, 58, was conferred the Panglima Mangku Negara (PMN) award, which carries the title 'Tan Sri', at a ceremony held at Istana Negara. Also receiving the PMN was armed forces chief Nizam Jaffar. The Panglima Setia Mahkota (PSM), which also carries the 'Tan Sri' title, was awarded to Chief Judge of Malaya Hasnah Hashim, navy chief Zulhelmy Ithnain, and deputy inspector-general of police Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay. Five individuals received the Panglima Jasa Negara (PJN) award, which carries the title 'Datuk'. Among them were the Prime Minister's Department senior deputy secretary-general Abd Shukor Mahmood and the Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) legal division head Donald Joseph Franklin. The other three were public service deputy director-general (development) Bakhari Ismail, Treasury deputy secretary-general (management) Ramzi Mansor, and Sultanah Aminah Hospital (Johor Bahru) cardiothoracic surgeon Dr Simon Jerome Vendargon. Recipients of the Johan Mangku Negara (JMN) award include Education Service Commission secretary Radzi Hashim, National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN) director-general Abdul Shukur Abdullah, and digital ministry deputy secretary-general (digital development) Ma Sivanesan Marimuthu. Also honoured were Matrade deputy CEO (export acceleration) Abu Bakar Yusof, UiTM deputy vice-chancellor Sazili Shahibi, and EPF equity department head Lim Tze Seong. Four individuals were awarded the Johan Setia Mahkota (JSM) title, including senior officials from UKAS, the science and higher education ministries, and the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA). Malaysia's ambassadors to China and Indonesia, Norman Muhamad and Syed Md Hasrin Tengku Hussin, as well as Dewan Rakyat secretary Nizam Mydin Bacha Mydin, received the Johan Setia Diraja (JSD) honours. Paralympic badminton champion Cheah Liek Hou, who delivered Malaysia's first gold medal at the Paris 2024 Games, was among 14 recipients of the Kesatria Mangku Negara (KMN) award. The Bintang Kesatria Setia Diraja (KSD) was awarded to Istana Negara's chief security officer Fairouz Hamdi Yamin and the ceremonial division's principal assistant secretary Syed Zaqwanariff Zainudin. Sixteen others received the Ahli Mangku Negara (AMN), including Federal Court sign language interpreter Tan Lee Bee, while 45 were awarded the Pingat Pangkuan Negara (PPN), and three received the Pingat Bentara Setia Diraja (BSD). The only recipient of the Bintang Jasa Perkasa Persekutuan (JPP) was Royal Malaysian Navy lieutenant commander Firdaus Arbaain, who rescued four people, including two children, from drowning in a Teluk Batik boat incident last August.
