Brittany Hockley reveals her wedding was 'fake' and the shocking moment her husband was 'denied entry' into Australia

Former Bachelor star Brittany Hockley married her Swiss footballer fiancé Ben Siegrist during a 'three-day extravaganza' clifftop ceremony in Bali last week. But there is just one 'minor technical detail' about the spectacular 'song and dance' that Brittany, 37, revealed to listeners of KIIS FM's The Pick Up on Monday — the marriage is not legal. 'Britt, you just got married in Bali,' Brittany's long-time best friend and co-host Laura Byrne said. 'We obviously can talk about how amazing that is, but now that we're here, we're also going to talk about how it's not legally binding yet.' 'It's a big show really,' the bride admitted, joking that the wedding 'was fake'. 'It's a bit too complicated to be honest. My husband Ben is fully Swiss, but he lives in Italy. I'm Australian living in Australia and we got married in Bali. There were way too many technicalities going on to make it legal, so we are just going to legally do it back here in Australia. 'The paperwork gets signed shortly - but let's not focus on that.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral The couple's wedding took place at Pandawa Cliff Estate which promises a 'dramatic and romantic clifftop setting overlooking the Indian Ocean' and stunning views of Bali's Bukit Peninsula. The 37-year-old was ever the blushing bride on her big day, walking down the aisle in a strapless dress by Steven Khalil which featured a lace corset with dramatic long train. Brittany and Ben gave followers a glimpse into the nuptials, sharing a duo of loved-up snaps from the big day to Instagram. One showed Ben romantically embracing his new bride as he leaned in for a newlywed kiss. The second showed the happy couple beaming as they held hands and hugged each other close. 'From the very first day, it was you,' Brittany captioned the images. 'Across any ocean, it is you. For the rest of our lives, it will always be you. Mr and Mrs Siegrist 4.6.2025,' she added, augmenting the sentiment with love heart emojis. Brittany also revealed on Tuesday that the couple hit a second snag upon their return to Australia to start married life. 'What I will say is [Ben] almost didn't join us,' Brittany said. 'We got to the airport late last night and [the airport worker] was like, "visa, sir?" 'He was like, "What do you mean visa? I didn't have a visa to get to Australia". She's like, "You can't enter the country".' Laura explained that Ben has visited Australia many times on a work visa, which was organised for him by his football club and did not realise he was on a visa. 'So, he's been coming back and forth and that visa expired,' she said. Ben is prone to these kinds of adulting hiccups, the two women agreed, as Brittany called out her groom for winding up without a pair of pants to wear down the aisle, 20 minutes before the ceremony. 'Ben decided to wear his wedding suit the week before to someone else's wedding,' she sighed. Sourcing a suit for the big day was the footballer's one task to complete for the elaborate wedding. 'Yes, my pants shrunk,' he confessed sheepishly on the podcast. Brittany had instructed Ben to send his suit off for dry cleaning in Bali at least three days before the wedding. He forgot to and then 'splashed money around' to get a last minute clean done, which left his suit pants like a pair of 'jeggings'. 'He couldn't get the zipper up,' Brittany said with a laugh. 'Which is not ideal when your legs are the size of my legs,' Ben added. 'But it was all fine. Nobody noticed. I'm not sure how you got this information because it was very secret with my groomsmen. 'But yes, there were some safety pins in my pants. But it's all fine. Nobody got stung. Nobody noticed except for you, Laura.' The Life Uncut podcast announced Brittany's engagement to Ben, 33, last year. Brittany, who formerly described herself as 'the perpetually single host', had been dating Ben long-distance for eight months when he popped the question. The duo met in November 2022 on the celebrity dating app Raya. At the time the goalkeeper's soccer team, the Glasgow-based Celtic FC, was playing in Australia against Sydney FC.

Brittany Hockley marries Swiss footballer in lavish Bali wedding

Brittany Hockley and Ben Siegrist have officially tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in Bali. Hockley, 37, said 'I do' to her partner, Swiss footballer Siegrist, 33, at the romantic Pandawa Cliff Estate on Wednesday. The luxury resort overlooks the stunning Bukit Peninsula, providing a breathtaking clifftop backdrop for their nuptials. The Life Uncut co-host, who first rose to fame as a contestant on The Bachelor in 2015, took to Instagram on Thursday evening to share the first photos from their wedding. 'From the very first day, it was you. Across any ocean, it is you. For the rest of our lives, it will always be you. Mr and Mrs Siegrist. 4.6.2025,' she captioned the post. In the first photo, the newlyweds share a swooping kiss, looking completely loved up. Hockley wore an ethereal custom gown by designer Steven Khalil, featuring a strapless lace corset and a floral embroidered skirt, paired with a matching floral neckpiece. Her hair was styled in a sleek low bun, adorned with a long, whimsical train. A second photo shows the couple holding hands, hugging, and beaming for the camera. The comments section was quickly filled with messages of support and excitement from friends and fans alike. Hockley's podcast co-host and close friend Laura Byrne wrote, 'THERE SHE IS!!!!! The most stunning bride and groom ever. What a day'. Zoe Marshall replied, 'Ahhhhhh beautiful'. Radio presenter Mitch Churi said, 'I'm still crying (and picking firework shrapnel from my quiff) '. Married At First Sight star Tahnee Cook commented, 'Congrats my love – you look absolutely beautiful'. Designer Steven Khalil commented, 'Absolutely incredible! So thrilled for you!' In November last year, Hockley shared a selfie with Khalil in the moments after she said 'yes to the dress'. She described the gown as 'magical, dreamy and beautiful' and said she was 'obsessed' with it. Hockley's dramatic wedding look followed her equally as eye-catching hen's party outfit. She celebrated the pre-wedding bash with friends on a yacht on Sydney Harbour, wearing a miniskirt and a structured one-shoulder crop top. Fans said the influencer looked 'hot', 'glowing' and 'gorgeous' at the event. The Life Uncut podcast announced Hockley's engagement to Siegrist last year. At the time, Hockley – who once described herself as 'the perpetually single host' – had been dating Siegrist long-distance for eight months when he popped the question. In her engagement post, she shared her excitement, writing: 'In any lifetime it's a YES! Just two people loving each other for the rest of our lives'. Hockley went Instagram official with the European goalkeeper in January last year. The pair first met in November 2022 on the celebrity dating app Raya.

'Brittany has chosen to keep her wedding intimate, inviting those she's closest to.' Adding to the intrigue, Brittany recently shared a lighthearted anecdote about her wedding invitations causing confusion among guests due to Aussie slang. On her Life Uncut podcast, she recounted how the phrase 'no thongs' led to some hilarious misunderstandings among international invitees. Brittany travelled to Bali in September to plan her destination wedding and wedding planners clamoured into the former Bachelor star's comments section after the bride-to-be joked about how she hadn't planned much for the big day. 'No date, no venue, no dress, no food, no alcohol, no photographer,' Brittany wrote - prompting wedding planners, wedding dress boutiques, and all sorts of other companies to offer up their services to the beautiful brunette.
