RD Baheti Charitable Trust Jaipur District Open Badminton Championship: Jaywardhan Singh wins men's singles; Padmaja Singh triumphs in U-17 girls
Jaipur: Jaywardhan Singh captured the all-important men's singles title, while Padmaja Singh claimed the U-17 girls singles crown in the RD Baheti Charitable Trust Jaipur District Open Badminton Championship at the Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium here on Thursday.
Dominating from the start to finish, Jaywardhan outclassed Ambar Chandravanshi in two straight games 21-12, 21-12 in the men's singles final.
The U-17 girls singles summit clash between Padmaja and Apeksha was an exciting affair that lasted for three games and 48 minutes. Padmaja bagged the opener 21-17 but lost the second game 12-21. However, she regrouped herself quickly to clinch the decider 21-14.
In the U-15 mixed doubles, the pair of Shreyansh Chaudhary and Aradhya Dhingra won the final squeezing past the duo of Manan Sharma and Padmaja Singh 21-18, 12-21, 21-17.
The combination of Abhishek and Kirtiraj Yadav reigned supreme in the U-15 boys doubles with a straight-game win over their rivals.
In the U-15 girls doubles final, the pair of Ojaswi Dubey and Pearl Parikh thumped Kanishka and Khushi 21-12, 21-18.
Advika Agarwal and Garima Yadav dismissed Ojaswinta Dubey and Pearl Parikh 21-14, 21-9 in the U-17 girls doubles final.
According to Jaipur District Badminton Association secretary Manoj Dasot and organizing secretary Atul Gupta, two rounds of matches of U-11 boys and girls singles and opening round of matches of U-13 boys were also played on the fourth day.
