SAT Results 2025: The results for Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) 2025 held on June 7, are expected to be released today, June 20. The SAT results are usually released within 2-4 weeks from the exam date. Hence, candidates who had taken the exam on June 7, can expect the results on June 20. Candidates who took the exam before June 7, whether at school or independently, may already have access to their scores. The College Board handles and releases the SAT scores. Here are the steps through which students can check their results: Visit the official College Board website. Log in with your username and password. Go to the SAT Scores section. View your scores: Click on 'View Details' or 'Score Report' to see the breakdown for Reading & Writing and Math scores. You can also download a PDF of the scores if needed After receiving the SAT scores, students need to sent them to colleges using their respective College Board account. In case an applicant did not select the colleges or recipients for the SAT scores to be sent to, or wants to add more, the student can send scores to additional institutions once they are available, mentions the College Board's website. SAT scores are valid for a period of five years from the date of the exam. For instance, for those candidates who took the exam on June 7 2025, the SAT scores will be valid approximately till June 7, 2030. A SAT score reports consist of the following information for its test takers: Total score: It is the sum of the two Section Scores, and this score ranges from 400 to 1600. Sectional score: The sectional score ranges from 200-800 and is based on the candidate's performance in various sections of the paper. STATEWIDE, Colo. (KREX) – The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) released the preliminary results of the CMAS, PSAT, and SAT exams given to students in grades three through 11 in Colorado public schools this spring. There was a balanced performance across the state in English Language Arts (ELA). For the CMAS exams, besides grades four and eight, all scores are at or above where they were before the pandemic. In regard to the SAT, 11th graders showed improvement in reading, writing, and math. PSAT 9 scores have stayed steady besides in math, which declined. PSAT 10 scores rose in math but declined in writing and reading. 'We wanted families to have early access to their students' results so they could celebrate areas of strength and seek support where needed,' said Colorado Education Commissioner Susana Córdova. 'We're encouraged to see improvement in statewide scores in several areas. However, this release includes only limited data—we don't yet have information about how different student groups performed, which has historically been an area of concern for Colorado.' For families to access scores and results, they will need their student's State Assigned Student Identifier (SASID) and can go to the Family Score Report Portal. Growth information, disaggregated results, state, district and school-level data will all be released to the public in August. 'Providing timely access to assessment results gives families a clear view of year-end academic progress and helps identify summer support needs,' said Chief Assessment Officer Christina Wirth-Hawkins. 'By releasing preliminary state-level data now and making individual scores available through the Family Portal, we're reinforcing our commitment to informing families, educators and the community about Colorado student achievement before heading into the new school year.' The Colorado Department of Education released preliminary results Wednesday outlining the overall success and progress made by Colorado students over the last year. Colorado public school students in grades three through 11 took the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS), PSAT and SAT assessments this spring. In most areas of study, students reached or surpassed pre-pandemic levels, with the exception of fourth-grade and eighth-grade English Language Arts and eighth-grade math. Changes reported in the state-level scores include: Steady student performance in English Language Arts (ELA), with slight increases in the percentage of students meeting grade-level expectations in grades five, six, and eight, and a more substantial gain in grade seven. In math, Colorado's elementary and middle school students continue to demonstrate strong progress, with notable year-over-year gains in grades four through eight and an upward trend since 2021. Overall, CMAS scores are at or above pre-pandemic levels in all grades except grade four (ELA) and grade eight (ELA and math). SAT results for 11th-grade students improved in both reading and writing and math compared to last year. PSAT 9 scores remained steady in reading and writing but declined in math, while PSAT 10 scores increased in math and decreased in reading and writing. Although final results will be released in August, including state, district and school-level data, the CDE decided to release the preliminary scores this week to help families identify areas their students need support in over the summer. "We wanted families to have early access to their students' results so they could celebrate areas of strength and seek support where needed," said Colorado Education Commissioner Susana Córdova. Individual students' CMAS scores are available through the Family Score Report Portal. Parents and guardians must have their child's State Assigned Student Identifier (SASID) to access the student's information.

U-46 plans to cover cost of high school juniors taking the ACT in fall

School District U-46 will pay for high school juniors to take the ACT test in the fall in an effort to familiarize students with the exam, meet dual-credit application requirements and potentially boost scores. The standardized tests will cost $121,862 according to a proposal endorsed Monday by the U-46 school board and to be formally approved June 16. 'This is a new initiative to stay in alignment with the Illinois State Assessment for 11th-graders,' said U-46 Assessment Director Matthew Raimondi, who spoke about the plan prior to the meeting. The state requires all 11th-grade students and any untested 12th-grade students take the ACT with Writing exam as part of the spring state assessment in order to graduate. That test features a 40-minute written essay session, according to the ACT website. 'For many years previously, the SAT was part of the graduation requirement in Illinois,' Raimondi said. 'Now, by offering the ACT to juniors in the fall, it provides students the opportunity to get familiar with the format before the mandatory ACT in the spring.' The district had considered offering the PreACT to juniors in the fall but opted against it because Elgin Community College and other community colleges do not accept its scores for admitting qualifying dual-credit students, he said. PreACT scores also aren't considered for scholarship opportunities, such as those offered by the National Merit Scholarship Corp. 'The actual ACT does count for dual credit, directly aligns to the state test, is college reportable and allows for students to submit a 'Super Score,'' Raimondi said. A Super Score lets students to submit their highest score from each test subject from different test dates when applying to college, he said. According to a memo provided as part of the Monday meeting agenda, 'a student who performs best in English and reading in the fall and in math and science in the spring may submit an ACT superscore combining their top section scores for college admissions.' After taking the ACT test in the fall, based on their performance, students will have access to targeted activities to build their subject skills in preparation for taking the mandatory ACT in the spring, the memorandum said. 'We are excited to offer this new opportunity for our students and help them prepare for the spring test,' Raimondi said prior to the meeting. The district has been providing the PSAT, which aligns with the state test, and offers dual-credit opportunities, both of which can lead to scholarship opportunities through the National Merit program, he said. 'We are planning to continue to offer the PSAT to 10th-graders and 11th-graders in the fall,' Raimondi said. With the state and the federal government requiring high school students to take so many tests, Superintendent Suzanne Johnson said staff would provide school board members with a calendar of when during the 2025-26 school year U-46 will be offering the various assessments.

Megha Vemuri, the president of Massachusetts Institute of Technology's class of 2025 called out Israel in her speech during the institute's graduation ceremony. Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday reposted a post by the news channel Drop Site which showed class president Megha Vemuri condemning the university's ties with Israeli military and the defence industry. She said that last spring MIT's undergraduate body and student union voted to cut ties with the 'genocidal Israeli military'. Students stood in solidarity for the pro Palestine activist on the campus. She also said that suppression was faced by pro Palestine supporters especially from university officials. Speaking on the university's ties with Israel she claimed that Israel is the only foreign military with which MIT has active research ties with. Born and raised in Alpharetta, Georgia, Megha Vemuri has been a prominent figure in student life at MIT. She recently completed her undergraduate degree in computer science, neuroscience, and linguistics from MIT and served as president of the graduating class. According to her Linkdin account, in 2021 she began her Bachelor's degree at MIT and was also a part of class council. She did her high school from Alpharetta High School in Georgia and passed out in 2021. Beyond her academic achievements, she also has experience as a research assistant at McGovern Institute for Brain Research. She is also a part of Written Revolution, which is a MIT student group and provides a platform to revolutionary ideas. Before that she worked as a research intern with the UCT Neuroscience Institute in South Africa. At MIT she was also artificial Intelligence teacher and helped create a curriculam related to neuroscience for high school students in Jordan. In 2021, she received the National Merit Scholar award, that recognises high school students for their strong PSAT. She has also published two research articles based around bird species and their social behaviour.
