Get Ready For Toyota Start Your Impossible Outrun 2025, Set For 27th July In Putrajaya!

Get on your marks, fam! UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) has announced the return of the Toyota Start Your Impossible (SYI) Outrun 2025, an inclusive charity run that goes beyond physical fitness to celebrate human resilience, unity, and compassion. Set for Sunday, 27th July 2025, at Dataran Wawasan, Putrajaya, the event continues to shape lives and inspire progress under Toyota's global Start Your Impossible initiative. SYI Outrun is a key part of Toyota's global Start Your Impossible campaign, a movement initiated by Toyota Motor Corporation to mark its transition from an automotive company to a mobility company — one that enables freedom of movement for all. UMWT adopted this campaign in Malaysia to reinforce its commitment to social responsibility and to strengthen its position as a leader in innovative mobility solutions. More than a run, the Toyota SYI Outrun 2025 reflects the brand's belief that movement whether physical, emotional, or social — can drive change. As part of Toyota's global initiative, this event inspires individuals to overcome barriers, support one another, and move toward a better, more inclusive tomorrow. 'At Toyota, we believe movement isn't just about machines — it's about people progressing as a society. The Outrun reflects our belief that movement can lead to connection, healing, and change,' said Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMW Toyota Motor. 'For the first time ever, we're introducing a 21KM Half Marathon — an exciting new challenge that symbolises how far we've come together, and how much further we can go. It's a powerful step forward for the event, one that celebrates endurance, determination, and community spirit. The Outrun brings people together across communities, uniting personal goals with a greater purpose. That's what Start Your Impossible is truly about' Since it was first introduced in 2019, the Outrun has raised over half a million ringgit for causes championing accessibility and wellness, including the Paralympic Council of Malaysia and the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM). The 2025 edition continues this legacy by focusing its support on Malaysians affected by cancer, while fostering an environment of strength, support, and community. Participants can register for one of three categories designed to cater to all levels of runners: 5KM Fun Run: A non-competitive, family-friendly run open to participants aged 5 and above 10KM Competitive Run: Open to various age groups and categories 21KM Half Marathon: Introduced for the first time ever in 2025, this new category challenges seasoned runners to push their limits and marks a bold new chapter in the Outrun's evolution The debut of the 21KM Half Marathon underscores the Outrun's growth as a platform not only for health and inclusivity but also for personal breakthroughs and athletic aspiration. It represents Toyota's drive to go further, enabling individuals to start their impossible and test their endurance in a meaningful way. Each competitive category includes divisions such as Men's Open, Women's Open, Veterans, and Malaysia-specific classes, encouraging diversity and inclusivity across all races. A record-breaking RM138,000 prize pool awaits the top 10 finishers in both the 10KM and 21KM runs, Toyota's way of honoring both competitive spirit and community engagement. This year's run introduces a new route at Dataran Wawasan, Putrajaya which provides a scenic course designed to uplift and inspire both physical and emotional journeys. Beyond medals and race bibs, every participant receives a performance running kit. Finishers of the 21KM category will also earn a special edition finisher's jersey. The true reward of the Outrun lies in the stories that emerge with every step, from families running in memory of loved ones, to survivors pushing beyond their limits, and first-timers embracing a new beginning. These deeply human moments are what give the event its heart. Over the years, it has grown into a gathering that brings Malaysians together not just in the name of health, but in the spirit of hope. Talking Heads celebrate 50th anniversary with new video

Talking Heads have released a new music video to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their first show. The band - who haven't performed together since 1984 and officially disbanded in 1991 - had been teasing an announcement and on Thursday (05.06.25), they shared the first video for their 1977 single Psycho Killer, which features Saoirse Ronan. The new clip is directed by Mike Mills and shows a young woman moving through her daily routine at her home, office and car, each day becoming a different version of herself, and the Outrun actress was delighted to be involved. She said in a statement: 'To simply be mentioned in the same breath as Talking Heads is hands down one of the coolest things that has ever happened to me, let alone making a video with the singular Mike Mills to accompany one of their most iconic songs – Psycho Killer. "I have grown up listening to their music, so this truly is a childhood/teenage/lifelong dream come true. Mike, myself and the rest of the creative team had so much fun making this, and I can't wait for Talking Heads fans to see it!' Mike declared the video to be one of "the best" projects he's been involved with. He said: 'This album literally changed what was possible in life for me, so to get to play with the subversive, uncategorisable beauty of Talking Heads, and to play with Saoirse who brought so much surprise, power, vulnerability and mischief to the party, it's one of the best things I ever got to be a part of – still can't believe it actually happened.' And Talking Heads - David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Jerry Harrison, and Chris Frantz - are delighted with his work. They said in a statement: 'This video makes the song better- We LOVE what this video is NOT – it's not literal, creepy, bloody, physically violent or obvious." The group reunited for their first full reunion in 20 years in 2023 to mark the 40th anniversary of their concert film 'Stop Making Sense'. During their promotional commitments at the time, they all insisted there were no plans for a full reunion. Chris told NME at the time: 'I did try it a couple of times and the last time was about 20 years ago, and after that, David just said: 'I never want you to ask me that question again. I'm not going to address that matter.' It's a shame and it is what it is.'

Hollywood star Saoirse Ronan 'expecting first child' with Scots actor Jack Lowden

The Brooklyn actress, who married actor Jack Lowden last year, appeared to confirm her baby news on the red carpet. Hollywood star Saoirse Ronan is reportedly expecting her first child with Scots actor Jack Lowden. The four-time Oscar nominee, 31, appeared to confirm the exciting news on the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival. The Outrun actress showed off her blossoming baby bump in a sheer black gown while posing for photographs at the Louis Vuitton Women's Cruise 2026 show on Friday May 23, according to the Irish Independent. ‌ Saoirse wore a strapped black silk dress, which featured sophisticated lace detailing across the chest. Saoirse had her first breakout role in Atonement where she starred alongside James McAvoy and Kiera Knightley in 2007. ‌ The talent married BAFTA-winner Jack, 34, who grew up in the Scottish Borders, in a secret Edinburgh ceremony last year. The intimate function included only a few select friends and family members. The pair were first romantically linked after starring in Mary Queen of Scots in 2018. Saoirse played Mary while Jack played Lord Darnley, Mary's second husband, but the duo have remained private about their personal lives. However, speaking to British Vogue last year, Saoirse said she had "always wanted" to marry and have children alongside her career. "I became successful when I was quite young, she explained. "So it meant that, actually, by the time I found my partner, I'm now at the stage where if it happened, I would like to have a kid. "I feel fortunate enough that if I step out of this for a minute, I'm hopefully not giving it up forever. ‌ "But, yeah, I've always wanted that." The couple produced the 2024 film adaptation of The Outrun where Saoirse played Rona, a Scottish woman who returns to her roots on the Orkney Islands after rehab in an evocative tale of battling addiction. ‌ Saoirse described her husband as "a lot calmer" than she is as a collaborator. "He's my voice of reason," she told USA Today. "But as a duo, we've both been on film sets our whole lives, so we have an appreciation of what we're asking actors to do. We always want them to feel safe." On whether the pair would appear on screens together again, she said: "Jack didn't want to for a long time, but I've now convinced him that's a great idea. I'd really like to do something together on stage." ‌ Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. Fellow actor Jack grew up in the Scottish Borders and attended Scottish Youth Theatre in Edinburgh where he fell in love with the art. Earlier this year, there was even speculation he could be in line to take over as James Bond. With Amazon now in control of the Bond franchise, speculation over Daniel Craig's successor is at an all-time high, and while the betting market has seen plenty of contenders come and go, a new Scottish frontrunners appeared to be emerging in Jack. His odds surged to 8/1 in February 2025, making him a serious player in the race for 007.

Saoirse Ronan shows off baby bump at Louis Vuitton Women's Cruise Show 2026

Saoirse Ronan appears to confirm she is expecting her first child. The Outrun actress, who married actor Jack Lowden last year, confirmed her baby news on the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival, where she showed off her blossoming baby bump in a sheer black gown. Saoirse wore a strappy black silk dress, which featured sophisticated lace detailing across the chest, at the Louis Vuitton Women's Cruise 2026 show. In October last year, the Brooklyn star admitted that she does want to have children at some point. "I became successful when I was quite young. So it meant that, actually, by the time I found my partner, I'm now at the stage where if it happened, I would like to have a kid," she explained. "I feel fortunate enough that if I step out of this for a minute, I'm hopefully not giving it up forever. But, yeah, I've always wanted that." Saoirse and Jack married in a private ceremony in Edinburgh last summer, with just a handful of close friends present. Neither of them ever confirmed their marriage but wear their wedding rings. Speaking about her relationship with Jack, she enthused about how supportive they are to one another. He has previously described working with Ronan as "remarkable". "The woman is a force of nature, on- and off-screen, and utterly fearless and a brilliant leader as well," he said. A rep for Saoirse has been contacted for comment.
