Forget Likes, Finance Cares about Results, Says GroundTruth In First Brand Campaign

Punchy campaign comes from the marketer who made Wendy's famous for social clapbacks NEW YORK, June 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- In a world where marketers are too often cornered into presenting meaningless vanity metrics to skeptical finance teams, GroundTruth is shifting the narrative. With the help of Austin-based creative agency Bandolier Media, GroundTruth has launched "Real Business Results," a sharp, no-nonsense campaign that ditches likes, shares, and impressions in favor of what actually matters like foot traffic, sales lift, and market share. GroundTruth's platform is built around real-world consumer behavior, using location and purchase data to deliver media campaigns that connect digital ads to real business outcomes. But even with those capabilities, the company saw a disconnect between what marketers often measure and what drives boardroom decisions. That's where Bandolier Media came in. Comedy With a Finance POV To bring this concept to life, Bandolier cast actor Oscar Nuñez, best known for his role as the sardonic accountant on The Office, as the face of reason in a series of humorous spots. The campaign's five creative executions—"Likes," "Equation," "Impressions," "Budget," and "Like-Liker"—feature Nuñez in mock Zoom calls or meetings where he hilariously dismantles the flawed logic of marketing teams still clinging to vanity metrics. "Oscar delivers the message marketers need to hear: CFOs don't care about likes," said Brandon Rhoten, CMO at GroundTruth. "In billions of dollars of media spend, I've never had a finance team ask about engagement. They want results tied to revenue, not retweets." Rhoten rose to prominence as the architect of Wendy's trailblazing digital and social strategy, where he transformed the fast-food chain into a cultural icon known for its razor-sharp social clapbacks and fearless online voice. But even for a marketer fluent in social, Rhoten's message now is crystal clear: likes don't pay the bills, results do. Creative Built for Conversion, Not Clapbacks The campaign runs across LinkedIn, YouTube, digital out-of-home, streaming audio, and programmatic mobile, targeting agency and brand-side media buyers who are increasingly under pressure to tie spend to impact. It's B2B marketing that dials up the relatability while driving home a serious point: if your media doesn't move the needle, it's just noise. "Too much of B2B creative still assumes humor or emotion is off-limits. Not here," said George Ellis, Creative Director at Bandolier. "We built this campaign to feel like something marketers would actually want to watch, and, most importantly, act on." A Brand Platform That Lives Its Promise GroundTruth isn't just selling smarter media with built-in measurement, they're living it. With observed real-world behavior as their core differentiator, this campaign is a meta-demonstration of their value proposition. Every spot is a rejection of marketing vanity metrics, and a push toward media accountability. The launch marks another milestone for Bandolier, named one of Ad Age's Small Agencies of the Year for three consecutive years. Their work spans major national brands and homegrown DTC efforts alike, always with a sharp creative edge and a refusal to settle for bland. About GroundTruthGroundTruth is an advertising platform that drives in-store visits and other real business results. Using observed real-world consumer behavior, including location and purchase data, GroundTruth creates targeted advertising campaigns across all screens for advertisers. GroundTruth then measures how consumers respond to the campaigns, including if they physically show up to a store location or website, to understand the real business results generated by a brand's advertising. Learn more at About Bandolier MediaAn established Austin-based creative agency, Bandolier has been recognized three years in a row by Ad Age as a Small Agency Of The Year. Current and previous clients include national names like TikTok (also a B2B client), Scotts Lawn Care, Tito's Vodka, Duck Tape and Honeywell, plus local clients in the CPG space. The agency is also known for creating their own social media properties such as The Unemployed Wine Guy (600k followers), and the team also created and run Roasty Buds Coffee, a growing brand with $1M in revenue over the past two years. Who Is In 'The Office' Spinoff Cast? All About 'The Paper', Including How It's Connected to Dunder Mifflin

The Paper is hot off the presses! In May 2024, NBC announced a spinoff of The Office, but don't settle in for Scranton, Pa., just yet. The new show, The Paper, takes place in the world of The Office, moving the action to a newspaper in Toledo, Ohio. The Paper is from Greg Daniels — who adapted the original U.K. version of The Office — and Michael Koman, co-creator of Comedy Central's Nathan For You. "It's about this struggling Midwestern newspaper that's much reduced from its glory days," Daniels previously told The Hollywood Reporter. "It's a fruitful premise." He continued, "There's a tremendous history for local papers. The villain here is the internet and the ability to look at everybody's news for free, and all the ad revenue going to Google." So how is The Paper connected to the classic NBC sitcom? Here's everything to know about the highly anticipated spinoff, including the release date, which Office star is returning to reprise their role and where to watch. The same camera crew that documented the employee antics at Dunder Mifflin is now focused on the team at The Truth Teller, a dying local newspaper in Toledo, attempting a revival with the help of volunteer reporters. The Office fans will instantly recognize a familiar face who made their way to Ohio: Oscar Nuñez, who played the beloved Oscar Martinez on the original NBC series. According to Variety, Oscar won't be a central character on the series, but he has been part of the script since the beginning. 'I told Mr. Greg Daniels that if Oscar came back, he would probably be living in a more bustling, cosmopolitan city,' Nuñez said at NBCUniversal's Upfront in May 2025, per Entertainment Weekly. 'Greg heard me and he moved Oscar to Toledo, Ohio — which has three times the population of Scranton. So, it was nice to be heard," he added. Nuñez is the only Office alum confirmed so far, but don't be surprised to see other returning actors. Former Office stars Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey — who host the Office Ladies podcast — revealed they stopped by the set of The Paper for a visit. "[Co-creator] Greg [Daniels] had invited us," Kinsey said during an appearance on the Today show in April 2025. "We showed up, and not only was Oscar there, but our crew, so many of these wonderful people — cause the crew was our extended family, and we're still really close with them." "And that was really moving to see," she added. In addition to Nuñez, The Paper will star Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore. Other members of The Paper newsroom include Melvin Gregg, Chelsea Frei, Ramona Young, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman and Tim Key. During a June 2024 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Steve Carell revealed that before Gleeson accepted the role, he reached out to him for advice. "He's an excellent actor. And he actually called me and asked, 'Should I do this? ... Did you enjoy it?' I said, 'Of course,' " Carell recalled. That same May, the Four Seasons actor told The Hollywood Reporter that he was "excited" about the spinoff and no plans to return as Michael Scott. 'I will be watching but I will not be showing up. It's just a new thing and there's really no reason for my character to show up in something like that,' Carell said. The Paper will be released in September 2025, over a decade after The Office ended its nine-season run in May 2013. 'It's been more than ten years since the final episode of The Office aired on NBC, and the acclaimed comedy series continues to gain popularity and build new generations of fans on Peacock,' Lisa Katz, the President of NBCUniversal Entertainment, said in a statement when the spinoff was announced. "This new series set in the universe of Dunder Mifflin introduces a new cast of characters in a fresh setting ripe for comedic storytelling: a daily newspaper," she continued. A trailer for The Paper has not been shared, but NBC gave a first-look from the series. The picture features Gleeson, standing on a desk in the newsroom, as he tries to galvanize his team of reporters. Meanwhile, Nuñez, who is an accountant at The Truth Teller, sits at his desk in the background. Another shot from the spinoff was also posted on social media, featuring the outside of a building, presumably The Paper offices. The Paper will be available to stream on Peacock, joining both the U.K. and the U.S. versions of The Office, which are already on the platform. Read the original article on People

The Office Spin-off Show The Paper Gets Release Date Window, First Pic

Peacock's upcoming spin-off of The Office, titled The Paper, has been given a release date window. The Paper comes from co-creators Greg Daniels and Michael Koman. The cast includes Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore, Oscar Nuñez, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, and Tim Key. Per Variety, The Paper will premiere at some point in September 2025. An exact release date has not yet been set. The first official image from The Paper, however, has been revealed and can be viewed below via an X post from DiscussingFilm: The logline for The Paper reads, 'The documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch is in search of a new subject when they discover a historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it.' Variety's description of a trailer for The Paper that was shown at the NBCUniversal upfront presentation in New York further states, 'It was revealed that the show takes place in the offices of the Toledo Truth-Teller. The documentary crew makes their way around the room, revealing that Oscar (Nuñez) is now working as an accountant for the paper. He is none too happy to see the doc crew again. Impacciatore plays the managing editor, while Gleeson plays an idealistic new employee.' Koman and Daniels both serve as executive producers on The Paper alongside Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman, and Banijay Americas. Universal Television is the studio. Whether or not any cast members from The Office besides Nuñez will be returning for The Paper is unclear at this time. Ed Helms, who played Andrew Bernard on The Office, recently said he hopes to be part of the spin-off show but hasn't received an official call about the matter as of yet. All nine seasons of The Office are currently available to stream on Peacock. The Office fans have spotted a legendary character from the popular sitcom in a first look at the new spin-off series The Paper - and they are absolutely thrilled. The much-loved mockumentary aired on NBC between 2009 and 2013. Despite wrapping up 12 years ago, the show - which boasts nine seasons - is still streamed on various platforms for fans to enjoy. The Paper is set to air on Peacock this September and a sneak peek at what to expect has sent fans wild. In the programme's new promo poster, Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore can be seen in an office. But many rushed to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share one star that they spotted in the background - Oscar Nuñez as Oscar Martinez. One asked: 'Is that Oscar??' 'I see Oscar in the back, but I'm curious if they'll bring back Jim or Dwight for this spinoff.' 'OMG OSCAR.' 'I see Oscar.' Oscar played his alter-ego between 2005 and 2013 on The Office. He's also starred in various other TV shows and films. Some include The Italian Job, Baywatch, Disenchanted, Malcolm in the Middle, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, NCIS: Los Angeles and The Goldbergs. Others were quick to share their excitement over the news. Many rushed to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their excitement over seeing Oscar AND the fact the show is coming soon One said: 'Oh, this is exciting.' 'That's amazing.' 'We will be watching!' The Paper was created by Greg Daniels and Michael Koman. The show will star Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore, Melvin Gregg, Chelsea Frei, Ramona Young, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Tim Key and Eric Rahill. They will be joined by Duane Shepard Sr., Allan Havey, Nate Jackson, Mo Welch, Nancy Lenehan, Molly Ephraim and Tracy Letts. Due to premiere in September, The Paper will follow the hilarious trials and turmoil of an office in a different kind of paper business. 'The crew is in search of a new subject when they discover a historic Toledo newspaper, The Truth Teller, and the eager publisher that is trying to revive it,' Peacock said. The American version of The Office was based on the classic UK series of the same name created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. The Office aired on BBC Two between 2001 and 2002, and moved to BBC1 in 2003. There were a total of 14 episodes across two series.

A First Look At The Office's Sequel Series, ‘The Paper,' Which Actually Exists

The Office NBC I am not sure how many people actually know this project exists, but there is going to be a follow-up series to the famed The Office, the almost decade-spanning NBC comedy that ended in 2013. That show is called The Paper, and now we have our first look at the series ahead of when it airs on Peacock, NBC's streaming service, as that's the era we occupy now. This is 'the universe of The Office,' which could not be more of a parody of the connected cinematic universe trend in film and TV today if it tried. I'm not 100% sure it's even being ironic. The Paper Peacock The crossover concept is that this is the same camera/documentary crew that followed Dunder-Mifflin around for ten seasons, and at least so far, has one character crossover that we know about, The Office's Oscar Nuñez, with his character Oscar Martinez now apparently an accountant at this new, struggling paper, which is the concept of the show. The paper is called The Truth-Teller, and takes place not in Scranton but Toledo, Ohio. It is in fact from former Office showrunner Greg Daniels. Here's him describing the series: 'It's about this struggling Midwestern newspaper that's much reduced from its glory days. A lot of the story lines are about how this guy, Domhnall Gleeson's character, is trying to restore this paper, and he just doesn't have the budget for hiring reporters, and he has to use all the staff that work there on a volunteer basis to be reporters. They're completely untrained and don't know what they're doing,' Daniels said. 'It's a fruitful premise. There's a tremendous history for local papers. The villain here is the internet and the ability to look at everybody's news for free, and all the ad revenue going to Google.' The boss this time around is played by Domhnall Gleeson, generally not thought of as a comedy actor across roles in Black Mirror, Harry Potter and most recently, the new Star Wars trilogy. I'm curious if he will keep his Irish accent or go full American for this, as he's done in some past projects. Probably the latter. The White Lotus HBO The series also stars Sabrina Impacciatore, whose name you might not know, but I'm certain you'll remember her as the concierge in season 2 of The White Lotus, where she made a significant impression. Again, curious about her accent given the show's location in Ohio. As someone who lives in Ohio, I can safely say there not many Irish or Italian accents around. There is a long list of other actors confirmed to be joining the series but I don't recognize any of them. Though The Office of course created classic characters featuring previously unknown actors. I am more than willing to bet other Office mates besides Oscar will show us cameos here. The idea of a paper trying to compete with free news and Google eating up all ad revenue certainly hits close to home in my business, so even if this sounds like something of a cash-in, I will be checking it out when it releases this September.
