Amritsar: Punjab Police seized seven sophisticated pistols and over 6kg heroin in two operations conducted in Amritsar on Saturday. Amritsar police commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar informed that police busted a Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terror module after the arrest of a local operative, Onkar Singh. During the operation, police seized four Glock-make pistols and two PX5. A preliminary probe revealed that the BKI module was operated by UK-based handler Dharam Singh alias 'Dharma Sandhu', who is believed to be an associate of Pakistan-based terrorist Harvinder Rinda. An FIR was registered, and an investigation is under way to uncover the broader network, said the commissioner. In the second case, police dismantled a cross-border drug-smuggling racket with the arrest of two key operatives—Lovepreet Singh alias Love and Balwinder Singh alias Bobby. Police seized 6.15kg heroin, one PX5 pistol, four live cartridges, and Rs 10,000 in drug money from their possession, informed Punjab director general of police Gaurav Yadav. Punjab Police on Saturday said it has dismantled a Pakistan-backed Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terror module operated by UK-based handler Dharam Singh alias Dharma Sandhu. Police have arrested a local operative of the module and recovered six foreign-made pistols from his possession, DGP Gaurav Yadav said. The accused has been identified as Onkar Singh alias Nawab, a resident of Jalalusma village in Amritsar district. The seized weapons, smuggled via drones from across the border, include four 9 mm Glock pistols and two .30 bore pistols, the DGP said. Dharam Singh, who operated the terror module, is a close associate of Pakistan-based terrorist Harvinder Singh alias Rinda. Further investigation is underway to unearth the broader network of the module, the DGP said. Sharing operation details, Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said the arrest followed precise intelligence inputs and coordination. "During interrogation, the accused disclosed that the weapons delivered via drones were meant for disruptive activities," Yadav said. Preliminary investigation revealed that Onkar Singh was part of a sleeper cell activated by foreign-based handlers to destabilise the state. "The weapons were meant to be distributed among local operatives to execute targeted killings and terror activities Punjab. The BKI terror module was operated by a UK-based hamdler, who was a close associate of a Pakistan-based terrorist named Harvinder Singh Rana. The Punjab Police has also apprehended a local operative named Onkar Singh alias Nawab, a resident of Jalalusma village in Amritsar district. 'In a major breakthrough, Amritsar Commissionerate Police busts a Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terror module operated by UK-based handler Dharam Singh @ Dharma Sandhu, a close associate of Pak based Terrorist Harvinder Rinda and apprehends one local operative, Onkar Singh,' DGP Punjab Police Gaurav Yadav said in a post on X. Police have recovered six sophisticated pistols, our 9 mm Glock pistols and two .30 bore pistols from the accused, he said. Bhullar further revealed that the seized weapons were meant to be distributed among local operatives of the terror outfit to carry out targeted killings and terror activities in Punjab. In a separate operation, Amritsar Rural Police busted an international arms smuggling ring linked to Italy-based Gurpreet Singh alias Gopy. Women to lead Kalash Yatra across Ayodhya ahead of temples' Pran Pratishtha

Lucknow: From Prayashchit Karm Puja in the afternoon, followed by a grand Kalash Yatra—led by hundreds of women—a series of religious ceremonies and rituals would take place on Monday, eve of the Pran-Pratishtha Mahotsav of the newly constructed temples on Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir complex, said officials of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, Ayodhya Dham. According to official of the media centre, Onkar Singh, women will collect sacred Sarayu water in ceremonial pots and move in a Kalash Yatra from the riverbank to the Yagyamandap. The journey will begin from eastern end of the old Sarayu bridge and pass through Veena Chowk, Ram Path, Shringar Haat, Hanuman Garhi, Dashrath Mahal, Ramkot and Rangmahal Barrier, culminating at the Yagyashala by 6:30pm. The Prayashchit Puja will take place from 3pm to 4:30pm. The rituals are being coordinated by prominent Yajnacharyas Jayaprakash Tripathi from Kashi, Chandra Bhanu Sharma from Delhi and Amarnath Brahma from Basti. They will be joined by 101 Ritviks from Prayagraj, Kashi, Devprayag, Haridwar, Jammu, Delhi, Kanpur, Kolkata and Ayodhya. According to Shailendra Shukla, appointed by the temple trust, the Yagyashala has been prepared and all necessary arrangements and materials are in place for the sacred event. The main Anushthan Vidhi will commence at 6:30 am on Tuesday.
