Oman reaffirms commitment to anti-personnel mine ban treaty
Geneva, Switzerland – Oman has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the principles of the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention and its continued cooperation with the international community to safeguard civilians and enhance human security. This pledge was reiterated during Oman's participation in the 12th Preparatory Session of the convention, held in Geneva, Switzerland, with broad participation from State Parties and representatives of international and humanitarian organisations. Delivering Oman's national statement, H E Idris bin Abdul Rahman al Khanjari, Permanent Representative of Oman to the United Nations and International Organisations in Geneva, underscored Oman's steadfast support for the convention's core principles. He also announced that Oman has fully met the requirements of Article 5 of the convention, highlighting the sultanate's firm commitment to implementing its provisions and actively engaging with its executive mechanisms. HH Sayyid Asa'ad arrives in Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur: HH Sayyid Asa'ad bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan arrived at Malaysia to chair the Sultanate of Oman's delegation at the GCC-ASEAN Summit and the GCC-ASEAN-China Summit, scheduled to be held on Tuesday in Kuala Lumpur. Upon HH Sayyid Asa'ad and his accompanying delegation's arrival at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, they were received by Fahmi Fadzil, Malaysia's Minister of Communications, Dato Yubazlan bin Haji Yusof, Malaysia's Chief of Protocol, Sheikh Al Abbas Ibrahim Al Harthy, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Malaysia, several members of the embassy and a number of Malaysian officials.

HH Sayyid Asaad to represent Oman at Kuala Lumpur twin summits
Muscat: On behalf of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, HH Sayyid Asa'ad bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan, will head the Sultanate of Oman's delegation to Kuala Lumpur for two summits which will begin on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. Oman News Agency (ONA) reported, "On behalf of His Majesty the Sultan, His Highness Sayyid Asa'ad bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Special Representative of His Majesty the Sultan, will head the Sultanate of Oman's delegation to the GCC-ASEAN Summit, and the GCC-ASEAN-People's Republic of China Summit, scheduled to be held in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, the day after tomorrow, Tuesday."

HH Sayyid Shihab returns home
Muscat: HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs returned home coming from the Republic of Iraq after leading the Sultanate of Oman's delegation at the 34th Arab Summit andthe Fifth Arab Economic and Social Development Summit, which were heldin Bagdad. It should be noted that HH Sayyid Shihab and his accompanying delegation left Baghdad earlier on Saturday. They were seen off by some Iraqi officials and members of the Omani Embassy in Baghdad.

Baghdad: HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs arrived in the Republic of Iraq on Friday evening, to lead the Sultanate of Oman's delegation at the 34th Arab Summit and the Fifth Arab Economic and Social Development Summit. HH Sayyid Shihab and his accompanying delegation were received at Baghdad International Airport by Fuad Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, Dr. Hamid Al Ghazi, Secretary-General of the Iraqi Council of Ministers, Qais Saad Al Amri, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Sultanate of Oman, Abdullah bin Nassir Al Rahbi, Ambassador of Oman to Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the Arab League, the Charge D'affaires of Oman's Embassy in Iraq, some members of the embassy and a number of Iraqi officials
