Stunning gymnast Suni Lee gives two-word response to taunt about OG Anunoby dating rumors
Gymnast Suni Lee gave a hysterical response on Saturday to a heckle referencing the rumors of a relationship between her and Knicks star OG Anunoby. The lighthearted suggestions of a romance between the pair began back in April, when Lee was spotted sitting courtside for a Knicks-Suns game in which Anunoby ultimately scored 32 points. Actress Anne Hathaway was also present at that game. From there, some Knicks fans became convinced that Lee (who attended several playoff games too) was something of a good luck charm for Anuboby, with his teammate Josh Hart even saying on his 'Roommates Show' podcast that the Knicks 'need' Lee and Hathaway at every playoff matchup. Lee was talking about her Knicks fandom this weekend at Fanatics Fest when a fan interrupted her by shouting out Anunoby's name. 'OG!', he yelled. Lee looked a bit stunned as she laughed the comment off, before telling the fan that the comment was 'out of pocket.' Fan: 'OG!' Suni Lee: 'Outta pocket.' 💀 (via @FiresideKnicks, @FanaticsFest) — Legion Hoops (@LegionHoops) June 21, 2025 And some fans were on the gold medalist's side as they reacted to the remark. 'She was so embarrassed,' one wrote on X. 'Why they gotta do that,' a second said. And a third joked: 'OG finna hit her up after this.' Lee and Anunoby posed for some pictures after the Knicks beat the Magic on December 3, though the fellow athletes have not actually been spotted outside of Madison Square Garden together. Nonetheless, Lee became a Knicks fan favorite as they had their best postseason run in 25 years and went to the Eastern Conference Finals. Unfortunately, the Knicks lost to the Pistons in the first round on April 21 when Lee was seen sitting on Celebrity Row. Anunoby had a modest 10 points and shot 0-4 from three in that game. The Knicks also lost with Lee in attendance in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals vs. the Pacers, as Indiana pulled off a stunning comeback to win 138-135 in overtime. Anunoby performed better in that game, as he scored 16 points in the loss. While London-born Anunoby had an impressive year for the Knicks, Lee captured her second Olympic gold medal for Team USA last summer. After previously winning an all-around gold at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, she claimed another in the team event in Paris

Jalen Brunson has 'the most confidence' at Knicks' ability to make a title run next season
On Saturday, the Indian Pacers picked up the Game 6 win in the Eastern Conference Finals, finishing off the New York Knicks' season and dashing any hopes of winning its first championship in 50 years. But despite the loss, Knicks guard Jalen Brunson feels strongly that this group can take it all the way next year. Postgame, Brunson was asked if he believed that this Knicks team could make a championship run next season. In his response, the guard was incredibly clear about his faith in the team. Advertisement "The most confidence. Overconfident. Seriously," he said. "There's not an ounce of any type of doubt that I'm not confident with this group." Brunson gave it everything he got, averaging 33 points and 33:50 minutes per game throughout the series against the Pacers. Throughout the playoffs as a whole, Brunson averaged 30.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, seven assists and 37:59 minutes per game. But the ECF loss was, on the whole, a disappointing ending for a Knicks team that had so much potential. New York made a number of key offseason moves to build a strong contender heading into the 2024-25 season. The team re-signed starting forward OG Anunoby, the second most expensive player on the team, to a new 5-year, $212.5 million extension in July. In September, the Knicks sent Julius Randle, a three-time All-Star, to the Minnesota Timberwolves, receiving veteran center Karl-Anthony Towns in return as part of a three-team trade. Advertisement While neither the Pacers or the Thunder had to pay the luxury tax this season, the Knicks did put a lot of money on the line. New York had the fourth-highest payroll in the league with $188,877,651, going more than $18 million over the tax threshhold. Towns was the most expensive player on the team, earning $49.2 million this season; Anunoby was the second most expensive, earning $36.6 million this year. Along with Mikal Bridges, the team's four star starters all had good seasons: Brunson lead the team, averaging 26 points per game, while Towns averaged a double-double. Anunoby and Bridges both averaged double-digit points, while putting up more than 36 minutes per game. Advertisement The Knicks finished third in the East with a 51-31 record, and got well-fought series wins over the Detroit Pistons and Boston Celtics in the postseason before falling to the Pacers. But in the end, it wasn't enough. New York will once again be watching the NBA Finals from home. Still, though, if you take Brunson's word for it: There's always next year.

OG Anunoby led the scoring with 24 points on 55.6% shooting, and Karl-Anthony Towns added 22 points and 14 rebounds. While both showed up offensively, their combined efforts weren't enough to close the gap, especially with the team struggling from deep, shooting just 28.1% from three. Jalen Brunson added only 19. Landry Shamet gave the bench a spark, knocking down four threes for 12 points. But beyond him, New York got little production from its second unit. The Knicks shot well overall at 47.7% from the field but left points on the line, hitting only 65.4% of their free throws. Costly turnovers, 17 total, and poor ball security made it tough to stay in the game. Knicks offseason outlook: New York's top-heavy roster could really use some support
It took the Knicks less than a year to acquire OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns. The mission was clear: Put significant talent around the scoring proficiency and playmaking acumen of point guard Jalen Brunson. Advertisement For the most part, it's worked. They wouldn't have made the Eastern Conference finals if it hadn't. Yet, in the process of gathering this All-Star team of starters, the Knicks relinquished depth — virtually all of it. That lack of depth ultimately put them at a disadvantage against the Pacers, who kept throwing bodies at the stretched-out Knicks and wore them down in six games. In the middle of it all stands Tom Thibodeau, the highly competent yet superbly stubborn head coach who played all of his starters more than 35 minutes per game in the regular season. (Before you ask, no he did not scale down those minutes in the playoffs. To the surprise of absolutely no one, he went in the opposite direction.) Advertisement As New York now heads into the offseason, it at least has its ducks in a row in regard to its collective talent level. The Knicks' best players are in place, and they are dangerous when applied accurately. What the organization needs now is a heightened focus on the bench and to identify role players who can help the starters get more rest and perhaps elevate them to a higher level in pursuit of a title. (AP Photo/Michael Conroy) (ASSOCIATED PRESS) 2024-25 finish Record: 51-31, third in the Eastern Conference. Lost to the Indiana Pacers in six games in the East finals. Highlight of the season The nine-game winning streak in December, when the Knicks played like a well-oiled machine. Some will argue they beat up on bad teams, but that's what they were supposed to do, and during that stretch it seemed near impossible for them to play down to the level of competition. Players signed for next season Karl-Anthony Towns OG Anunoby Jalen Brunson Mikal Bridges Josh Hart Mitchell Robinson Miles McBride Tyler Kolek Pacome Dadiet Key free agents Precious Achiuwa (UFA) Landry Shamet (UFA) Projected salary $194,354,847 Draft picks No. 50 Advertisement Draft focus: Look, at No. 50 it's hard to find someone to crack the rotation. But it's not impossible. If the Knicks target the best defender left on the board, that player stands a reasonable chance of endearing himself to Thibodeau, potentially leading to minutes. Due to New York's expensive roster, it doesn't have a lot of leeway financially. It could use the tax MLE, but that would hard-cap it, possibly preventing the Knicks from making additional moves. Needs and goals Obviously, the Knicks are looking to build on this season. They've fully embraced a win-now approach, and that's not changing anytime soon. If they succeed in adding some quality depth, they could be a powerhouse next season.
