A Very Honest Review Of Sol De Janeiro's New Body Lotion

I have a confession: I've never fully identified with the cult of Sol De Janeiro's Brazilian Bum Bum Cream. I'm not saying there aren't enough reasons to love it, there are indeed plenty – read: the dopamine-inducing sunshine yellow tub, the sugary beach holiday scent, the skin-perfecting formula and that rich unctuous texture, the list goes on. But my personal, and rather pivotal, gripe has long revolved around the latter. When temperatures are soaring outside, the last thing I want to do after a shower is coat my skin in a thick, heavy cream that requires some dry down time before getting dressed, no matter how deliciously fragranced it is. For those, like me, who have been too afraid to speak any ill of this cult classic, whose cultural cachet spans the run of beauty editors, A-listers, tweens and TikTokers the world over, it is time to rejoice as Sol De Janeiro has answered our secret prayers with its newest offering: the Badalada Vitamin Infused Body Lotion, £32. The latest launch from the now billion dollar beauty brand marks a return to its body care origins. Sol De Janeiro launched in 2015 with the Bum Bum Cream, but ten years on the Brazilian-born beauty brand has reimagined its inaugural release with a lighter, more spreadable iteration of the OG, which is understandably already causing a stir online. Sameeha Shaikh, beauty writer, testing Sol De Janeiro's new Body Badalada™ Lotion Perfect for lazy girls (guilty as charged), the new Badalada Vitamin Infused Body Lotion promises 24-hour weightless hydration with an airy, non-sticky formula that sinks in on contact to quickly reveal soft, supple, silky-smooth skin. While it bears some of the same key hallmarks as its older relative – namely that sunshine yellow packaging and the iconic Cheirosa 62 scent – there are clear distinctions between both. Described as being 'more like cousins than twins,' according to the brand literature, the differences between the original Brazilian Bum Bum Cream and the new Badalada Vitamin Infused Body Lotion are down to texture, ingredients, packaging, and even price – so quite a lot then. The OG is packed with a high concentration of emollient oils and butters which lends it a rich, creamy texture that bodes well for dry skin. Plus, it's enriched with caffeine-rich guaraná extract and cupuaçu butter to firm and tighten. On the other hand, the new upgrade is loaded with a higher water content, which makes it featherweight, malleable and ideal for oily skin types. It also boasts humectant like hyaluronic acid and Brazilian sugarcane to attract water and retain moisture in the skin. Both are also bottled up in their own unique ways making the user experience totally different (more on that further on). And while the Cream retails for a fairly pocket-denting £48, the Lotion comes in at £32. Sol De Janeiro's new Body Badalada™ Lotion (L) and Brazilian Bum Bum® Cream Sameeha Shaikh, beauty writer, says: 'This summer-ready lotion arrived just in time for the soaring temperatures London has been enjoying of late, a time when my body care craves a light and refreshing all-over hydrator even more than usual. As someone who hasn't been totally overcome by the force of Sol De Janeiro's original Brazilian Bum Bum Cream (I rarely use it outside of winter), I was keen to see how I would get on with its new modern counterpart and I can confirm it did not disappoint. Straight off the bat, its pump applicator makes it much easier to dispense the lotion when I'm pressed for time, plus I can control how much I want to use without wastage. It also means I don't need to dip my fingers into a tub, which usually awakens the germophobe in me and leaves the tub a slippery mess. The formula itself glides on like a dream, no thanks to the humectant-rich, watery content, which makes it spread like water (not butter) and leaves my skin feeling quenched (not drenched), sans that heavy, sticky feeling. It sinks in with impressive speed, too, so I'm not sat there waiting for my skin to dry before I can get dressed. That all too familiar, addictive holiday-in-a-bottle scent is ever bold and present, which means those of us who haven't yet found the breathable body care products that you can layer to make the brand's pistachio, salted caramel and vanilla loaded Cheirosa 62 scent really last (thanks for the hack TikTok), can now finally get stuck in.' Sameeha Shaikh, beauty writer, testing Sol De Janeiro's new Body Badalada™ Lotion 1. Sol De Janeiro Badalada Vitamin Infused Body Lotion Price: £32 What the brand says: 'Quench thirsty skin with 24-hour weightless hydration. This fast-absorbing, irresistibly scented body lotion is infused with Brazilian sugarcane to actively boost surface hydration, seven-hyaluronic-acid blend to draw moisture deep into the skin's layers, and the iconic scent of Cheirosa 62™.' What we know: The cult of Sol De Janeiro's Brazilian Bum Bum Cream has helped the brand to become the billion dollar empire it is today which churns out quick-to-go-viral products that become the go-to for fashion editors, A-listers, tweens and TikTokers everywhere. This upgrade features moisture drawing Brazilian sugarcane, seven different molecular weights of hyaluronic acid to reach deeper layers of the skin, and antioxidant-rich cactus pear extract to offers a new way to enjoy the OG body cream. Sameeha Shaikh, beauty writer, says: 'Straight off the bat, its pump applicator makes it much easier to dispense the lotion when I'm pressed for time, plus I can control how much I want to use without wastage. It also means I don't need to dip my fingers into a tub, which usually awakens the germophobe in me and leaves the tub a slippery mess. Pros Lightweight, fast-aborbing, 24-hour hydrating formula Loaded with the brand's iconic Cheirosa 62 scent Cons Bulky packaging is not ideal for travel Sameeha Shaikh is Grazia's beauty writer, covering all categories to bring you insights on the latest trends, industry news and the products you need to know about, viral or not (most probably viral).

5 GTA 6 easter eggs Rockstar can include in GTA 6

(Image via Rockstar) If there's one thing Rockstar always delivers besides chaos and controversy, it's easter eggs. Whether it's Bigfoot in San Andreas or the UFOs in GTA 5, the devs are known for stuffing their worlds with cheeky secrets, spooky nods, and pop culture throwbacks. And with GTA 6 shaping up to be the biggest game in the series yet, you know Rockstar's gonna go wild. Here are 5 easter eggs we absolutely expect to see in GTA 6, either because they're iconic, long overdue, or just so Rockstar-coded it hurts. 1. Another Bigfoot Cameo They teased us with Bigfoot for years, and finally gave us a full-on encounter in GTA 5. But let's be real: Bigfoot's basically family now. With Leonida's swamps and backwoods, the setting is perfect for a creepy cryptid comeback. Expect grainy sightings, spooky shadows, or even a mission that makes you question if Bigfoot's real or just some guy in a ghillie suit. Why Tommy Vercetti Must Return in GTA 6 2. A Tommy Vercetti Tribute Somewhere in Vice City Vice City isn't Vice City without the original legend: Tommy Vercetti. Whether it's a mural, a statue, or an old abandoned mansion full of 80s memorabilia, we're betting Rockstar throws in a tribute to the OG kingpin. They have to. Fans will lose it if there's even a 'Vercetti Enterprises' office somewhere. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Hasta 8 meses de protección Seresto Encuéntralo Undo Bonus points if it's hidden and only accessible during a specific time of day. Classic Rockstar. 3. Aliens Again, But Weirder Aliens have been a GTA staple since forever, indicated by crop circles, crashed UFOs, and even secret government bases. But Leonida's strange mix of wetlands, beaches, and sketchy redneck zones gives Rockstar room to take it further. 4. A GTA 5 Farewell Hidden in the World GTA 5 ran for over a decade. That's longer than some friendships. Rockstar has to give it a send-off. Maybe a broken-down car that looks like Franklin's Buffalo. Or a shrine to 'three legends from Los Santos.' Something emotional, subtle, and 100% Rockstar. You might laugh. You might cry. You'll definitely screenshot it. Why CJ Must Return in GTA 6 5. CJ or Grove Street References ' Ah s **, here we go again*.' You just read that in CJ's voice, didn't you? Grove Street and San Andreas left a cultural dent, and Rockstar knows it. Whether it's graffiti tags, a track on the radio, or some old NPC muttering CJ's iconic line, a San Andreas nod is guaranteed. We'd bet our last in-game dollar on it. GTA 6 is already looking stacked, but let's be honest — the easter eggs are the real cherry on top. Rockstar's gonna flex hard on the nostalgia, the inside jokes, and the WTF moments. And we're 100% here for it. Keep your eyes peeled, because Leonida isn't just packed with crime — it's packed with secrets. Game On Season 1 kicks off with Sakshi Malik's inspiring story. American Love Story: Carolyn Bessette Kennedy's hair colourist says Ryan Murphy got Sarah Pidgeon's hair 'totally wrong'

There are a lot of little elements, let alone the final cumulative impact of the roulette of pictures, via which tragedy maestro Ryan Murphy introduced Sarah Pidgeon, the actor who will be portraying Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, wife to John F Kennedy Jr, and the ultimate understated it-girl of the 90, in the producer's new anthology series, American Love Story. Now while such mammoth casting moments may take a beat to settle into the audience's conscience — if you aren't already aware, JFK Jr and Carolyn were one of America's most beloved couples, their tragic deaths further cementing the sentiment — Ryan's vision of JFK Jr and Carolyn, is managing to achieve quite the opposite. A post shared by Ryan Murphy Productions (@ryanmurphyproductions) Recently, footage and on-set snaps of Sarah, running around New York City, decked in what we are assuming is one rendition of Carolyn's street-strut looks, made their way on to the internet. And everyone is either cringing or scrunching up their eyebrows, just not giving. As though the latex leather, and the assertively sheen-ful gold satin skirt (Carolyn groupies know being loud was NOT her aesthetic) wasn't enough, the fact that Sarah was running around in a pair of Converse, is a pretty crisis-ridden point for the fashion community. The final straw? The hair, oh the hair. Carolyn's sharp, minimal dressing always stood accentuated by her soft cascading, and more importantly, warm-toned blonde locks, though her pale skin and occasional all-neutral fits may have made her hair seem lighter than it was. Sarah on the other hand, has a head full of near-platinum blonde locks. And people aren't having it. In a chat with Vogue, Carolyn's former hair colourist, Brad Johns, who was quite the hot stuff in the 90s — the best in his field — didn't mince any words at all. Firstly, Brad wasn't even aware the Carolyn was being brought back to life for the screens. So when he saw the pair launch, Brad's unfiltered reaction went, "No one would believe that Carolyn in the '90s would ever have that color from me. It's too 2024". Now if you think achieving that level of icon-hood came with a simple global dye job, you're sorely mistaken. Brad signed, "We worked really hard to get right". He built up her natural light brown locks to a "toffee" shade reminiscent of a "child-of-the-beach" vibe. The toffee shade was worked in with his signature chunking technique, "I went in and put the highlight chunks in three foils around the front of her face, and then two underneath for when she wore her hair up". And what did Brad have to say about Sarah's hair for American Love Story? "Totally wrong, the opposite of what we were going for", he shared promptly, adding, "If you show that on TV and fashion people see it, they are going to think, why is she all ashed out with her hair only one color?". With the OG expert on the matter having doubled down on the bone of be its time for Ryan to reconsider the hair and costume department for American Love Story?
