Tears and prayers as pilgrims continue to return

KUWAIT CITY, June 9: In an atmosphere filled with tears of joy and bouquets, Kuwait International Airport warmly welcomed the first group of pilgrims who returned from the Holy Land on Monday, following the successful completion of Hajj rituals. The airport received praise for its seamless organization, reflecting the tremendous efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in serving the guests of Allah. The arrival halls were abuzz with activity, as various airport and governmental agencies worked in unison to ensure a smooth reception for the pilgrims. The atmosphere reflected the coordinated efforts, particularly as the return of the pilgrims coincided with increased traffic due to a large number of people coming back from Eid Al-Adha holidays. In statements to the newspaper, several pilgrims expressed their appreciation for Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for the unwavering support and state-of-the-art facilities provided during Hajj. They affirmed that these efforts ensured the performance of rituals in an environment of comfort, safety and ease. The pilgrims described the Hajj season this year as 'exemplary',; citing the efficient organization, comprehensive services, and smooth movement between the holy sites as standout features. Pilgrims commended the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the efficient management of crowds. They highlighted the early issuance of permits and the 'Nusuk Card', which significantly streamlined access and movement between sacred locations. The journey from Mina to Arafat, Muzdalifah; and finally the stoning of the Jamarat were carried out with remarkable efficiency and minimal delay. They also lauded Kuwait International Airport for its efforts, including the establishment of special counters and fast-track lanes exclusively for pilgrims. From disembarkation to baggage collection and onward travel, pilgrims reported a smooth and trouble- free experience. They expressed deep appreciation for the efforts of Kuwaiti Hajj caravans, commending them for their exceptional organization and close follow up throughout the pilgrimage. They described these campaigns as 'pioneering,' particularly the initiative in collecting luggage prior to departure from the Holy Land. 'This advance handling of baggage streamlined arrival procedures at Kuwait International Airport, allowing pilgrims to bypass traditional baggage claim areas and exit the terminals with ease,' they disclosed. Meanwhile, Mansour Al-Hashemi -- Director of Operations at Kuwait International Airport -- announced that 28 inbound flights from the Holy Land are scheduled over the coming days. He said 12 of these flights are operated by Kuwait Airways, 11 by Saudia Airline and five by Flynas.

Over 23,000 buses deployed while Mashaer Train transports 604,000 pilgrims

Saudi Gazette Report MINA — More than 23,000 buses were deployed across three shuttle routes, supplemented by traditional modes of transportation during this year's Hajj, according to the control room at the Public Transport Center of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites. This effort, part of the largest transport fleet operating in a single area worldwide, achieved a record time for Tawaf Al-Ifadah, demonstrating exceptional professionalism and precise operational coordination. Moreover, the Mashaer Metro Train maintained its efficient performance, transporting over 604,000 pilgrims since its launch of operation for this year's Hajj on Tuesday. These were distributed across three main movements: Movement A with more than 27,000 passengers, Movement B with 283,000, and Movement C—the highest—with 294,000, reflecting the system's strong operational efficiency. In the health sector, the Ministry of Health continued to provide integrated services through its facilities across the holy sites. The number of health services provided exceeded 125,573, including advanced procedures such as 216 cardiac catheterizations and 18 open-heart surgeries, all performed efficiently by qualified Saudi medical personnel. This outcome confirms the high level of health preparedness and the development of national medical capabilities. In the same context, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah reported that it has conducted over 5.5 million electronic readings of the Nusuk Card as part of its technical plans to enhance pilgrim services and improve organizational safety. Meanwhile, the Pilgrims Care Center, through the unified number 1966, has provided more than 310,000 services since the beginning of the season, including inquiries and direct support. Additionally, field teams from the Compliance Centers have carried out over 65,000 inspection tours of service providers to reinforce compliance and improve performance quality. These integrated efforts reflect the strong coordination among various entities involved in Hajj, under the guidance of the wise leadership and in line with the objectives of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, which aims to advance the Hajj system, harness modern technology, enhance the pilgrim experience, and enable them to perform their rituals in a safe, organized environment prepared to the highest international standards.

Saudi Arabia's 'No Haj Without a Permit' ensures a seamless pilgrimage

MINA, Saudi Arabia: Saudi Arabia is reinforcing its commitment to a safe and organised haj through its annual regulatory campaign, 'No Haj Without a Permit'. The initiative remains a cornerstone of the Kingdom's vision for a seamless pilgrimage. Aimed at both domestic and international pilgrims, the campaign highlights Saudi leadership's dedication to ensuring safety, comfort, and order, while preventing disruptions that have historically affected haj. According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), 'No Haj Without a Permit' tackles key challenges such as unauthorised pilgrims, road congestion, and fraudulent haj campaigns that leave pilgrims vulnerable to harsh conditions. For haj 1446 AH, the Kingdom emphasises that a successful pilgrimage is a collective national, security, and organisational responsibility. Measures include proactive awareness messaging, heightened security checkpoints at Makkah's entry points, advanced monitoring technologies, and strict penalties for violations. This year's Arafah Day showcased the campaign's effectiveness, SPA reported. Pilgrims adhered to instructions, arriving at designated camps on time, leading to unprecedented traffic flow and clear roads around Arafat and Namirah Mosque. A sense of tranquillity prevailed as pilgrims performed essential rituals, supported by comprehensive government services. Authorised pilgrims received designated spaces within holy sites, ensuring access to housing, catering, healthcare, and modern transportation. Smart applications further enhanced awareness efforts. Coordinated efforts ensured efficient pilgrim movement via buses and trains. The Nusuk Card and technical supervision systems played a crucial role in regulating pilgrim compliance. Heightened awareness campaigns and cross-sector coordination reinforced adherence to guidelines. The Interior Ministry's Makkah Route Initiative, now in its seventh year across 11 international airports, continues to streamline arrivals, having facilitated over one million pilgrims since 2017. This year's haj achievements align with Saudi Vision 2030's goal of enhancing haj and Umrah services, delivering a safe and seamless experience for all pilgrims.– BERNAMA
