Scarborough dealer of 'dangerous' synthetic opioid jailed

A North Yorkshire drug dealer has been jailed for 11 years for attempting to distribute a potentially fatal synthetic seized by police from Brian Hollywood, 30, in January were initially thought to be class C Xanax, however further tests discovered they were class A of Spring Bank, Scarborough, previously admitted three counts of possession with intent to supply a class A drug and was jailed at York Crown Court on Tuesday. A person has been taken to hospital after a crash on a key route in North Yorkshire, the ambulance service has said. The eastbound carriageway of the A64, heading towards the coast, had been closed near Malton but has now re-opened, according to National Highways. A spokesperson for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service said they were sent to a single-vehicle collision at 06:51 BST, and one person was taken to York Hospital. It is the second road incident in the area this week, after a motorcyclist died in a crash on Tuesday. Appeal after human remains found in burnt-out vehicle in Yorkshire

POLICE in Yorkshire have said they are supporting a family in Ireland following the discovery of human remains in a burnt-out vehicle. North Yorkshire Police said formal identification of the remains is yet to take place following the discovery on Marishes Lane, around 15 miles from Scarborough, at around 4am on Monday. The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are at an early stage to establish the full circumstances. Detectives are investigating a possible link to an earlier collision, which occurred at around 11.10pm on Sunday, June 15 on the A169 Malton Road between the A64 interchange at Malton and Marishes Low Road. This incident involved a black Vauxhall Astra and an unknown vehicle. The occupants of the Astra were not injured. Anyone who may have seen either incident, or who has relevant information or dash-cam footage from the area at the time, is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101.
