I've been to every hotel on the Las Vegas Strip — but there are just 5 that I'll always revisit.
Mandalay Bay has some of the best pools in Las Vegas. Mandalay Bay may be a bit south on The Strip, but it's still worth a visit. I love that it offers plenty of activities, like the on-site Shark Reef Aquarium. This hotel's 11-acre "aquatic playground" is also one of the coolest pool complexes in the entire city. You'll find a lazy river, wave pool, and more — but my favorite is the Moorea Beach Club, an adults-only, tops-optional pool complex with cabanas and daybeds for rental. The real draw for me, though, is that even the most basic-level rooms feel big and bright, with 550 square feet of space and floor-to-ceiling windows. I love that NoMad has a sleek aesthetic and a quiet, private pool. A luxurious "hotel within a hotel," NoMad spans the top four floors of Park MGM. Compared to Park MGM's cheery and bright decor, NoMad has a darker, moodier aesthetic. The rooms include original artwork, hardwood floors, and beautiful small touches throughout. Whenever I stay here, I feel like I'm in a luxe, big-city apartment instead of a hotel room. One of my favorite amenities is the quiet pool reserved for NoMad guests, who can enjoy all of Park MGM's pools and cabanas even when the pool is closed. Vdara is a great casino-free pick for families. Vdara is a rare Vegas resort without any casinos, making this a great option for non-gamblers, families, and business travelers. (Still, if you're looking to visit a blackjack table, you can easily visit the nearby casinos at the Aria, the Bellagio, and Cosmopolitan.) The modern suites with full kitchens provide an apartment-style experience. Plus, Vdara offers large windows with the best views of the Bellagio fountains and bright Vegas sunsets. My favorite budget hotel is the Flamingo. This is the best of the budget options on The Strip — and it's located right in the middle of all the action. Whenever I'm here, I can easily walk to the monorail, High Roller Ferris wheel, and shopping hubs, like the LINQ Promenade. When it comes to the hotel itself, I love the Flamingo's outdoor garden and Wildlife Habitat (which, yes, features real Chilean flamingoes). I also enjoy visiting the adults-only GO Pool. Offering the atmosphere of a day club, pool enthusiasts line up well before it opens to claim chairs and daybeds. Music blasts all day and there are waterfalls, small lounging islands, and even outdoor craps tables. Finally, the Flamingo has several stellar restaurant options. One of my favorites is Bugsy & Meyer's, a steakhouse with vintage decor and a facade that resembles an old general store. Out of all the hotels I've visited, the Wynn is my favorite. The Wynn Las Vegas (and its sister hotel, Encore) is my absolute favorite hotel complex in all of Las Vegas. The rooms are modern, spacious, and comfortable. Plus, I love that they include thoughtful touches like nice stemware and tablets for room controls, room service, and more. I'm also consistently impressed by the Wynn's food options. You'll find tons of high-quality restaurants here, including one of the few buffets on The Strip. Personally, I always look forward to having a sumptuous dinner at SW Steakhouse — and then, visiting the lakeside patio for a quirky light show.

It's good, but it'll send your arteries straight to hell
Going for dinner at a hotel is A Very American Thing To Do. Most Brits will only eat at a hotel if they are actually staying there and can't be arsed to leave the building in order to get fed. It's fitting then, that the NoMad's newly revamped in-house restaurant is a high-octane tribute to the big, ballsy American brasserie. Previously known as the slightly more descriptive 'Atrium', the roomy, well, hotel atrium's rebrand as Twenty8 NoMad also reeks of flashy New York, utilising the kind of chaotic jumble of letters and numbers that brings to mind Manhattan staples Bungalow 8 and Eleven Madison Park. It's brash, even grating, but we'll give it a pass, as it fits the aesthetic bang on, which is all Manhattan-by-way-of-the-Marais, an extravagant Yank take on the French brassiere, complete with excessively high ceilings, balustrades and balconies. 'Intimate' it is not, but cosy is overrated, and we're struggling to think of anywhere else in London that seems at once like peak Studio 54 and the ideal date spot for Romeo and Juliet. Into this truly special space steps a lavish 'raw bar', supersized-steak frites and an entire menu devoted to the martini. Our dirty vodka offering comes with a whole second helping, courtesy of a sidecar on ice, as well as three blue-cheese stuffed olives. It's the first in a carnival of oversized (read: American) offerings. A starter of crispy artichokes, which, though deep fried, are surprisingly light, and also very big boys. It's easy to see why our prawn cocktail doesn't arrive in a bowl; it's their sheer size. Veritable baby arms of seafood (even with the heads taken off), and served with a pot of humming horseradish cocktail sauce. Then comes a bowl of mussels (all of them fastidiously turned face up), in a creamy green curry sauce accessorised with bubbly, burnished roti. It might seem inconspicuous on a menu dedicated to brassiere classics, but it works through sheer dint of its deliciousness - and yes, they also seem larger than your average bivalve. Mains too are mighty, and a glossy lobster pasta is almost demonic in its execution. Using what we can only assume is an entire block of butter, a hearty grind of black pepper, smattering of chives and huge lumps of lurid lobster, the chef has created a dish worthy of beelzebub's own dinner party. It's good, but it'll send your arteries straight to hell, is what we're saying. Did we have room for dessert? Did we heck. A minty grasshopper cocktail stood in for an actual pudding, and, in true bountiful American style, we were packed off with a small box of chocolate bon-bons. Bigger isn't always better, but it certainly seems to be when you're at Twenty8 NoMad. The vibe A very good-looking hotel restaurant. The food Epic portions of French/American bistro classics. The drink There's a whole martini menu as well as classic cocktails and high-end, high-price wine. Time Out tip Far be it from us to intentionally undercut a restaurant, but the starters here are sizable. If there's two of you, it wouldn't be out of the question to order one each and then a main to share along with a side.

Michigan Central to bring new NoMad Hotel to Detroit
Hilton's first luxury lifestyle hotel in the United States, NoMad Detroit is set to open in 2027, part of Ford Motor Company's visionary plan for the former train depot turned tech and culture hub. DETROIT – NoMad Hotels has announced its debut in Michigan, following an agreement with Ford Motor Company to open a nearly 180-guest room hotel in Detroit. The hotel will be housed within The Station at Michigan Central, a 30-acre tech and cultural hub. This is part of an ambitious effort to revitalize Detroit's historic, once-abandoned passenger rail station. NoMad Detroit closely follows the announcement of the brand's Asia debut in Singapore, after Sydell Group and Hilton partnered together last year in a joint venture to grow the NoMad brand. The NoMad brand was founded in 2011 and is led by CEO Andrew Zobler, an industry veteran in the lifestyle hospitality space. NoMad's legacy in creative place making is unmistakable, with its brand becoming a namesake for the New York neighborhood it helped revitalize. 'NoMad has built a reputation for developing hotels that take inspiration from the history, art, design and culture that make a place unique, and NoMad Detroit is poised to be no exception,' said Andrew Zobler, Founder & CEO, Sydell Group. 'A city steeped in history with an incredibly bright future, NoMad Detroit is part of an ambitious project that is transforming The Station at Michigan Central into a center for commerce, innovation, community and culture. As we continue the international expansion of NoMad from the iconic London location, with plans to launch in Detroit and Singapore and more in the works, we look forward to giving travelers a chance to experience our unparalleled luxury in the most vibrant destinations.' Expected to open in 2027, NoMad Detroit will anchor the west side of The Station and the top five floors of the building's tower. Nearly 180 guest rooms, including 30 suites, are slated for the upper floors, marking the first time in the building's history that floors 14-18 will be occupied. Visitors will also enjoy luxury wellness facilities and additional amenities. Originally opened in 1913, The Station was designed by architects Warren & Wetmore and Reed & Stem, the same team behind New York's famed Grand Central. NoMad, a globally recognized hospitality innovator, will reimagine The Station's historic restaurant and carriage house with its signature restaurant and bar concepts. The interior design will celebrate the work of Detroit artists and makers throughout public and guest spaces, continuing NoMad's tradition of working with local collaborators to make its hotels at once global and very rooted locally. 'A year after we opened Michigan Central Station to the world, our vision to create a global innovation hub and a destination symbolizing Detroit's future is well underway,' said Bill Ford, Executive Chair, Ford Motor Company. 'Together with NoMad and Hilton, we are now announcing the next phase of our ambitious vision offering visitors and the community a unique hotel destination and memorable food and beverage experiences in this iconic landmark. The new NoMad Detroit hotel will not just be a place to stay, but an energetic and exciting gathering place for years to come.' Detroit is the only U.S. city to be designated by UNESCO as a City of Design, making it the perfect home for NoMad's Michigan debut, while The Station's storied past leaves deep wells of inspiration for the hotel's design. Initially opened in 1913 and replacing the previous Detroit Union Depot, The Station's more than 110-year history will ground the hotel's design. Restorations of historic architectural details are important, not just to the aesthetic of the hotel, but to make sure that each guest's stay helps them connect to their environment. NoMad's careful renovation of the space will connect the rich history of Michigan Central Station and the City of Detroit with NoMad's global spirit. NoMad Detroit's design will be borne out of a collaboration with local artists and makers to create a compelling concept that engages with the community. 'Michigan Central is proud to welcome the NoMad brand to Detroit, bringing world-class hospitality to one of the country's most iconic buildings,' said Josh Sirefman, CEO, Michigan Central. 'NoMad's track record of thoughtfully integrating into culturally significant places and for creating spaces that celebrate local character made them a natural fit. This partnership is a continuation of our work of turning The Station at Michigan Central into a global destination that serves residents and attracts visitors as well as inspiring entrepreneurs, industry, and creatives.' The announcement of NoMad Detroit comes nearly one year after Michigan Central and Ford celebrated The Station's reopening last June and propels the project forward to its next phase of reactivation as a global destination. As the centerpiece of Michigan Central's 30-acre district, The Station supercharges the growth of Detroit's technology ecosystem by accommodating larger tenants and established companies, attracting technology talent, drawing in diverse businesses and integrating youth training. Since launching in April 2023, Michigan Central has grown into a diverse innovation ecosystem with nearly 240 companies. Michigan Central and Ford opened The Station in June 2024, after a meticulous six-year restoration, as the centerpiece of the 30-acre district. Today, The Station has become home to multinational corporations and small businesses as tenants and has welcomed nearly 300,000 visitors to experience unique cultural programming and historical tours. NoMad Detroit will deliver accessible luxury experiences to Detroiters, Michigan Central's network of startups and industry partners, and visitors while treating guests to unparalleled views across the neighboring Corktown and Southwest neighborhoods, downtown Detroit and Canada. 'This project is one of many new locations for Hilton's luxury brands, following announcements in Turks & Caicos, Egypt, Singapore and India,' said Kara Randall, Vice President, luxury and mixed-used development, Hilton. 'With our existing NoMad footprint in London and NoMad Singapore in the pipeline in Asia, we chose to announce our next NoMad project with Ford, who, like Hilton, represents iconic American companies at this quintessential crossroads for U.S. travel in the historic renovation of Michigan Central Station. This project champions Detroit, rejuvenates a historic landmark and marks Hilton's luxury debut in Michigan, part of Hilton's aim to serve every stay occasion in every location.' Detroit anchors one of the largest regional economies in the United States, with significant contributions from the automotive industry, healthcare, finance, and technology sectors. The city attracts more than 16 million visitors per year and, as a UNESCO 'City of Design,' Detroit continues to be a vibrant and culturally rich destination. This signing is a significant addition to Hilton's luxury portfolio worldwide, which now boasts more than 500 properties, thanks to significant growth for Hilton's luxury brands as well as an exclusive partnership with Small Luxury Hotels of the World. Recent luxury openings include Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique, Waldorf Astoria Osaka, Sax Paris, LXR Hotels & Resorts, and Signia by Hilton Amman. Hilton has nearly 100 luxury hotels under development worldwide. NoMad hotels participate in Hilton Honors, the award-winning guest-loyalty program for Hilton's 24 distinct hotel brands. Hilton Honors members who book directly through preferred Hilton channels have access to instant benefits, including a flexible payment slider that allows members to choose nearly any combination of Points and money to book a stay, exclusive member discounts, and the Hilton Honors mobile app.

Video shows crane delivers Jeff Bezos' furniture to penthouse after billionaire closes down 5th Ave
Must be a perk of Prime. A stretch of Fifth Avenue was closed for a massive delivery to Jeff Bezos' sprawling NoMad penthouse, according to a mind-blowing video shared on TikTok. A huge piece of wrapped furniture dangled from a rope as a crane last week slowly hoisted it above the intersection of Fifth Avenue and 26th Street, which was lined with caution tape, barricades, machinery and moving company trucks. 4 Dozens of workers milled about, directing traffic and joining passersby in watching as the item neared the top of 24-story 212 Fifth Ave., where Bezos reportedly owns five apartments spanning the top four floors worth $119 million. Raffi Arslanian, the owner of luxury candle company Thompson Ferrier, caught the commotion on camera Saturday. 'You want to see how Jeff Bezos delivers his furniture? Let me show you,' said Arslanian, whose office is a block away. 'I think we all can relate to this,' he joked. 'Now back to reality, where, when we move, we get a U-Haul and we do it ourselves, or at best, we get a company to do it — but we don't close the street,' Arslanian quipped. His video has garnered more than 970,000 views and thousands of comments, some speculating about what giant object the crane was transporting. 4 4 'It's a hot tub,' said one commenter. A grand piano, suggested another. Others were more interested in how much the operation cost. 4 Large-scale moves using cranes can cost upwards of $20,000 a day, according to reports, and require permits to shut down the streets. 'Amazon prime delivery, billionaire subscription,' one TikToker joked. 'We would all do the same if we had 100 billion dollars,' another remarked. Bezos, worth an estimated $223 billion, according to Forbes, between 2019 and 2021 plucked up one unit after another in the former office tower overlooking Madison Square Park.
