Paisley company helps family as part of DIY SOS with Nick Knowles

Prestige Floors, which is situated on Causeyside Street, previously confirmed on social media that the business WAS helping with a project on DIY SOS. It is understood that the company were supporting the team on the show as they help out a family from Newton Mearns. The family at the heart of the project recently suffered a devastating personal loss, prompting the show's return to Scotland after several years. READ MORE: Calls made for safety cameras to be installed on Renfrewshire road Staff called the experience "humbling" and shared some behind-the-scenes snaps, including one with programme host Nick Knowles. A post on Prestige Floor's social media read: "Glad we could make a difference to this family's life along with hundreds of other companies in the Glasgow area this week. "It was a humbling experience and great to see so many people helping out a family in need. "It's not all about making money. Sometimes it's about trying to make a difference and we can relate to that when you feel the world is against you. "We regularly help with charities, local football teams and community groups as much as we can and it is always an honour. "We hope the family enjoy their renovated home and we wish you all the best for the future and look forward to this episode airing later on TV." The DIY SOS team, known for transforming homes and lives for the past 27 years, issued a public appeal earlier this year for tradespeople, volunteers, and suppliers across Glasgow and surrounding areas to help. The show is set to air later this year.

Lee Cronin, chief executive officer and founder of Chemify, said: "The first Chemifarm is a watershed moment for molecular innovation. "By combining automation, AI and scalable synthesis, we can now move from code to compound faster than ever, fueling breakthroughs in drug discovery, materials science and beyond." (Image: Chris James for Chemify) A 2022 spin-out from the University of Glasgow, Chemify is built on Professor Cronin's research in digital chemistry. Professor Sir Anton Muscatelli, principal and vice-chancellor of the university, said: "Chemifarm's launch exemplifies the transformative impact that emerges when academic excellence translates into industrial innovation. "This is a hugely significant milestone - as a University, we are committed to working with our partners and funders to enable our cutting edge research to translate into successful spin-outs that scale-up and deliver impact on the regional economy creating jobs and strengthening our regional economic clusters." (Image: Chris James for Chemify) The facility includes production suites, research and development labs and secure cloud infrastructure designed to store petabytes of chemical data for AI-powered analysis. The £12 million project is backed by the Glasgow City Region Innovation Accelerator Programme, a UK Government-led scheme delivered by Innovate UK. Scottish Enterprise also contributed £1.1 million in grant funding. Councillor Susan Aitken, leader of Glasgow City Council and chair of the Glasgow City Region Cabinet, said: "Chemify is a stand-out success story within our emerging innovation economy, one that's both enhancing Glasgow's reputation as an international centre of science and ingenuity while transforming the world of chemical production. "The Chemifarm takes the company's presence in Glasgow to a new level, where it can continue to build on the City Region's support to create quality new jobs and leverage in further private investment as its success grows."

Nick Knowles and his new wife Katie pack on the PDA as they are seen for the first time since their wedding at Royal Ascot day four

Nick Knowles and his wife Katie packed on the PDA as they were seen for the first time since their wedding as they led the glamour at Royal Ascot day four on Friday. The presenter, 62, exchanged vows with his lingerie brand boss bride, 34, during a six-figure wedding at Braxted Park, Essex, earlier this month. At Ascot Katie wore a blue and white dress very similar to her wedding dress as she planted a kiss on her husband. She added a smart navy hat to her look and boosted her height with strappy nude heels while beaming for the camera. By her side Nick cut a smart figure in a black suit and light blue silk waist coat as the pair proved they were very much still in their honeymoon period. Also at the racing event was regular Georgia Toffolo who looked the epitome of chic in a red dress with statement sleeves. Royal Ascot, the jewel in the crown of the UK racing calendar, kicked off on Tuesday with the Queen Anne Stakes and will run until Saturday. King Charles and Camilla are likely to arrive in the famous carriage procession along the course and past the stands that will welcome hundreds of thousands of punters during the five-day meet. It is a royal tradition that has reached its 200th anniversary this year after it was first held in 1825 during the reign of King George IV. The festival was founded by Queen Anne in 1711 after she declared Ascot ideal for 'horses fit for kings' and it is now a major social event and sporting attraction. Last week newly-weds Katie and Nick shared a glimpse into their lavish wedding on social media as they partied into the night. The fun continued into the early hours, as the couple shared a series of sweet photos and clips on Instagram from their happy day. Katie wowed in a stunning second white bridal dress for the reception while Nick looked dapper in a pink blazer. The couple showed off their fun side as they posed in a photo booth wearing costume hats and Katie held a wired telephone. In another clip, the couple danced while Katie jokingly shook her head at her new husband's moves as he whipped off his pink suit jacket flinging it around his head. As guests made their arrival for the nuptials, they were greeted with a cheeky nod to Nick's TV success, as a huge sign boasted the words: 'Welcome to Katie's wedding... ft TV's Nick Knowles.' Earlier in the evening, Katie wore her quirky floral print wedding dress, which she wore for the ceremony, for the couple's first dance and cutting their huge cake. The couple pulled out all the stops for their guests with a live band providing the music whilst a carnival dancer bedecked in feathers took to the floor at one point. The couple began dating in 2021 after they met when their children became friends at a play centre and got engaged in 2023. The couple are said to have spared no expense on their special day, which was reportedly attended by a whole host of celebrity guests, including Nick's Strictly co-stars. Last month, Katie kicked off the wedding celebrations with her hen do at luxury boutique hotel Karma Sanctum, where she was joined by close friends Kirsty Shaw-Rayner and Sherene Fuller. The group arrived on a beer bus and then headed through party district Soho wearing Nick Knowles face masks, much to the amusement of Katie, ahead of partying at Karma Sanctum. Katie was later entertained by two buff men dressed as a fireman and policeman as the party carried on into the early hours. Katie and the TV star have been subject to cruel trolling during their relationship, with critics mocking their age difference and financial setup. Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, about the 'gold digger' jibes, Katie admitted they don't get to her as much as they used to because she and Nick know it's not true. She said: 'I think at the start, it was probably more irritating, especially for my family. But now those comments kind of just pass over me because we both know it's not true. 'Nick works hard, he has what he has. I work hard, I have what I have and then we buy each other stuff.' Katie continued: 'We're both really comfortable with where we are with that and you will always get it because there's an age gap. 'I know plenty of people who are together and the same age where someone's using the other one for money and they're not happy. 'So as long as I know it's not true and he knows it's not true, I think that's, that's pretty much all that matters.' Nick has an estimated £7.5 million net worth but Katie has built up an impressive lingerie brand, having launched Boa Boa in 2022. She has proved to be her own best advert for the brand, modelling the skimpy looks to her 102,000 Instagram followers.

I dated Nick Knowles & know why this marriage won't last – he has ‘shiny penny' syndrome & always had a wandering eye

Before his TV fame, Nick was married to Gillian, the mother of two of his children, Tuesday, 26, and Charlie, 27 WHO KNOWLES I dated Nick Knowles & know why this marriage won't last – he has 'shiny penny' syndrome & always had a wandering eye Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) WHEN it comes to heartthrobs, Nick Knowles might not be the first name that springs to mind for many women. He's openly admitted to being a workaholic, struggles with flat-pack furniture, and has even faced criticism for reportedly calling women in the North East "munters." Last week, Nick tied the knot with his fiancée, Katie Dadzie, 34, a lingerie entrepreneur, in a stunning ceremony at the luxurious Braxted Park Estate in Essex. The DIY SOS star and mum-of-two were all smiles as they posed outside the grand country house - rumoured to have cost six figures - with Katie turning heads in a striking blue and white gown. But will it all be as perfect as it seems? A source suggests Katie may need to be cautious. 'Obviously he's been married before, he's got kids, but he's never really settled down, has he?' she said. 'He's been with some beautiful and intelligent women – long-term partners like Suzi Perry – and had some stunning girlfriends, but he always manages to f*** it up because he goes for the next shiny object.' Before his TV fame, Nick was married to Gillian, the mother of two of his children, Tuesday, 26, and Charlie, 27. After their split, he dated beauty therapist Paula Beckett-Vass for two years, and they welcomed a son, Tyrian-J. Nick Knowles and wife Katie Dadzie show off their dance moves on wedding night In 2000, Nick began a relationship with TV and radio presenter Suzi Perry, but the couple split three years later. He then met his second wife, Jessica Moor, in 2009. They married in September 2012 and welcomed a son, Edwin, two years later, but separated in January 2016. Nick was also linked to Emmerdale actress Gemma Oaten after they were spotted looking cosy at the TV Choice Awards, with the pair later enjoying a romantic getaway to Edinburgh. Back in the day when I knew him, Nick was a champion of sh***ers But is this marriage destined for a happy ending? The source remains doubtful. 'I reckon she's probably given him an ultimatum like, 'Marry me.' He'll probably go along with it until the next shiny penny comes along in a year's time when he's bored of the sex – because, let's be honest, being in a relationship gets boring,' she said. 'I don't think marriage is going to be the thing that settles him down. It's just a piece of paper that he knows he can get out of. 'He's not the kind of person who wants longevity – he's got a wandering eye. He's very sexy, a red-blooded male, and he makes it very obvious. 'There's no denying that if he has eyes for you, he'll make sure you're aware of it. 11 Suzi Perry and Nick Knowles at a party Credit: Rex Features 11 Nick Knowles and Gemma Oaten Credit: Fame Flynet 11 Jessica Rose Moor and Nick Knowles attending Pimms Summer Garden in 2013 Credit: Capital Pictures 'That's the impression I got with him… he'll do things like tell you what room number he's staying in without you even asking. He'll say it as a joke, but you know he's being serious.' The pair "hooked up" because they were working on a TV production together. "We were all out for drinks and he was very flirty, making eye contact, very flirty and let me know which room he was staying in," she said. She also explained that Television sets - especially on location - often involves a lot of the staff sleeping with each other. "Sh***ing while on location is incredibly common," she explained. "It happens all the time. The cameramen, sound recordists, even the talent, and contributors you make the shows with. He is very charming and he is lovely to talk to. Although he's a bit cocky, he is a nice guy "It happens all the time. And yes, married men, yes, single men, people that have got girlfriends. "It is prolific - particularly because you're on location all the time. You're away from home. Staying in a hotel makes it so much easier." The source warned Katie to be wary when Nick is away filming. She said: 'Back in the day when I knew him, Nick was a champion of sh***ers. "I slept with him while out on location, and there's no way anyone could find out. He was single at the time. "I was attracted to his swagger, confidence and he's a good looking bloke. Everybody fawned over him. "Whilst I pretended I wasn't interested, of course I was flattered and I was young and thought lets go for it. "If I went back now knowing what I know, I'd probably still do it because, you know, you're flattered and you're like, well, 'why not? I'm single, I can do what I want, can't I? She continued: 'He's not someone who can truly settle down – I just don't think it's in his nature. 'I'd advise her to keep an eye on him. You can't stop someone from cheating, but remember – a leopard never changes its spots. 'She might have brought him down the aisle, but that doesn't mean he'll change.
