'Magical' display lights up cliffs around Newquay Harbour

A Cornish harbour is to be illuminated with colour-changing Business Improvement District (BID) has installed the lights on the cliffs around Newquay Harbour so they can be seen from vantage points across the BID manager Mark Warren said the lighting created a "truly magical display" which celebrated the beauty of the "stunning harbour".He said the project, funded by the Town Deal initiative, would continue to tailor and add lighting around key times such as Christmas. Mr Warren said the project was part of Newquay BID's wider effort to enhance the town's visual appeal and promote it as a year-round destination for residents and Bradshaw, general manager of The Boathouse, a business in the harbour, said: "The lights look great across the harbour creating a stunning visual effect and this has enhanced the lovely evening atmosphere. "

New mural added to Newquay street art walking trail

A new mural in Newquay is set to be completed, making it the fourth in the town centre which form a street art walking Josephine Hicks, also known as Hixxy - began work on the mural on Gover Lane on Tuesday in Newquay town year, three other murals were created in the town - each by a different artist - as part of the MUQY Street Art Walking Warren, Business Improvement District (BID) manager said he was "excited" to confirm the arrival of the new mural. Mr Warren added: "The previous murals generated a palpable buzz and we anticipate this will do the same. "We don't want to give too much away, but we can say it will be a striking piece that speaks to the locals, whilst providing a fun and colourful lift to the street."Mr Warren said there were "exciting plans", with more sites set to launch in project was delivered by Newquay BID and funded by Cornwall Council's Town Delivery latest mural focuses on the flow of tourism in Newquay and features elements such as RNLI lifeguards, hospitality workers, dog-walkers and traffic wardens. The other murals in the MUQY trail - located in different parts of the town centre -are connected with QR codes.
