Nick Carter sparks concern with alarming slimmed-down photo: ‘Hope he's doing fine'

Nick Carter's slimmed-down appearance has sparked concern among fans who are worried about his wellbeing. On Wednesday, the singer shared a relaxing selfie via Instagram ahead of practice for the Backstreet Boys' Las Vegas residency at the Sphere. 'Soaking up some Vegas heat before today's rehearsals,' Carter, 45, captioned the photo. Carter appeared in good spirits, wearing a grey hat and a dark red Ford T-shirt. Fans couldn't help but voice their concerns about his thin frame in the comments section, however, with one writing, 'Sorry to say, but you look a bit too thin to me! … I hope you're okay, @nickcarter! Love you so much!' 'He looks very unhealthy, hope he is okay!' another added, as a third chimed in, 'I'm a [bit] nervous.' 'Maybe he took some Ozempic,' a fourth wrote, to which another snapped back, 'Maybe you should mind your business.' Meanwhile, others rushed to Carter's defence, urging critics not to 'comment on other people's bodies.' 'Hey ladies … just like we don't want men commenting on our weight … men don't need to hear your opinions either,' one supporter wrote. '[I] think it's more out of concern … hope he's doing fine mentally and physically,' a second added. A source, meanwhile, told Page Six that Carter is 'not on Ozempic.' According to the insider, the pop icon and his bandmates have been rehearsing for their Vegas residency 'for the past two months now' and 'working out non-stop.' 'It's not going to be an easy show,' the source continued, adding that Carter's social media proves that he has slowly slimmed down over the past few months. 'It didn't happen overnight,' they said. Reps for Carter did not immediately respond to Page Six's request for comment. The Backstreet Boys — which also consists of Brian Littrell, AJ McLean, Kevin Richardson and Howie Dorough — will begin their Into The Millennium residency at the Sphere starting July 11. They are set to perform 21 concerts before wrapping their final show in late August. Nick's return to the stage comes after the tragic deaths of three of his siblings, Leslie Carter, Aaron Carter and Bobbie Jean Carter, who passed away in 2012, 2022 and 2023, respectively. In November 2023, the I Want It That Way singer admitted he was still grieving his late brother, telling E! News that it 'hurts' not to have made amends before he passed. He also addressed Bobbie Jean's death in January 2024, writing via Instagram that 'it may take a lifetime to fully process the loss [his] family has endured over the years.' Nick was one of five siblings. The family is also survived by Aaron's twin sister, Angel.

Daniel Cormier sees right through Jon Jones' lack of interest in Tom Aspinall fight

When it comes to not wanting to unify the UFC heavyweight title against Tom Aspinall, Daniel Cormier sees right through Jon Jones. During an appearance on the "Full Send Podcast" that released Thursday, Jones made it clear that he currently isn't interested in fighting, which has Cormier wondering one thing. Advertisement "What took so long? What took so long for you to tell us, 'Hey, if (the desire to fight) comes back, I'll come back.' But right now it's not there. What took so long?" Cormier said on his YouTube channel. "You will get grace in that regard. By not saying something, by waiting to say something, you gave people the idea that you just don't want to fight this guy. Seriously, that you just don't want to fight this guy, who represents another era of fighter. ... "By taking so long, he's now given you the idea, 'Well, he's afraid.'" Specific to Aspinall, who's held the UFC interim heavyweight title since November 2023 and defended the belt last July, Jones insists he's "not in a position to excite (him)" and that beating him would simply represent a win over "the next guy," which Jones did through generations of contenders while he was light heavyweight champion. Cormier takes umbrage with this mentality from Jones. Advertisement "That might've worked before. That's not working this time. That's where Jones loses me," said Cormier, who called for the UFC to strip Jones of the heavyweight title. "I get it that he's seen the great hope of someone that's going to beat him in the past. There's never been someone like this. … Let me tell you why it's never been someone like Aspinall: because of the way the rules have changed. If this was Jon Jones at 28 years old, no worry for him, and Aspinall would not be the biggest threat to him. The reason Aspinall is the biggest threat to him today is because (Jones is) 38 years old. Because he's lived a life of excess, partying, living, doing all those things that back in the day got him into trouble. ... "Aspinall's the biggest threat today because the roles have reversed. At 28 years old, Jon would've seen Tom a million times over and fought him already. But Jon, at 38, recognizes that this dude is a little better. He's not afraid. He just doesn't want to get knocked out. Jon Jones prefers to let his legacy stay as is with the caveat that he didn't fight Tom Aspinall, didn't run the risk of fighting Tom Aspinall and getting beat by Tom Aspinall. That's where the difference lies. That's where the worry comes from. That's why we're seeing a man say 'this guy doesn't really excite me' when in reality, it's exciting. But it's also very scary." Dana White said this week that a decision on a potential Jones vs. Aspinall fight will be made "in the next couple of weeks," but it seems Jones already has made the decision for the UFC. (Photo by Chris Unger/Zuffa LLC) "In the co-main event," said White, "we have another five-round fight, between No. 4 ranked Movsar Evloev taking on the guy most people consider to be the top free agent in the world, Aaron Pico. "Evloev is undefeated at 19-0 and one of the most intimidating guys at featherweight. Aaron Pico is a ridiculously violent striker and a very high-level grappler. Pico has had hype behind him since he was a teenager because of his skill and fighting style, which people compare him to the likes of Justin Gaethje or Dustin Poirier. "If Movsar can get the victory, he will likely be the next contender for the title against Alexander Volkanovski. "Expect this fight to be an absolute war." Volkanovski does not have his next title defense booked. NEWARK, NEW JERSEY - MAY 06: Movsar Evloev of Russia prepares to fight Diego Lopes of Brazil in a ... More featherweight fight during the UFC 288 event at Prudential Center on May 06, 2023 in Newark, New Jersey. (Photo by Cooper Neill/Zuffa LLC via Getty Images) Evloev (19-0) made his UFC debut in April 2019 in a featherweight contest against Choi Seung-woo. At the time he stepped into the UFC Octagon for the first time, Evloev was 10-0 and coming off a defense of the M-1 Global bantamweight crown. Evloev, defeated Choi via unanimous decision. Over the next five years, Evloev would climb the featherweight rankings, facing progressively tougher opponents under the UFC banner. He is 9-0 under the UFC banner. In his most recent outing, the 31-year-old defeated former UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling by decision at UFC 310 in a 145-pound scrap. Evloev has an eight-fight winning streak at 145 pounds, one of his UFC wins came at a catchweight of 150 pounds. He has the fourth longest winning streak in the history of the division. Volkanovski's 11-fight winning run between November 2016 and July 2022 is the second-longest UFC featherweight winning streak. All nine of Evloev's UFC wins have come via decision. Pico (13-4) joined the UFC as a free agent earlier this year. Pico was with Bellator for his entire MMA career before departing as a free agent. The 28-year-old had an up-and-down run with the promotion, but he enters UFC Abu Dhabi on a three-fight winning streak. His record in his past 10 fights is 9-1. His only loss during that span, which dates back to January 2020, is a October 2022 TKO loss to Jeremy Kennedy in a fighter were the doctor stopped the bout because Pico dislocated his shoulder. MIAMI, FLORIDA - APRIL 12: Alexander Volkanovski of Australia reacts after his unanimous-decision ... More victory against Diego Lopes of Brazil in the UFC featherweight championship bout during the UFC 314 event at Kaseya Center on April 12, 2025 in Miami, Florida. (Photo by Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC) In April after wining the vacant UFC featherweight title with a decision over Diego Lopes, Volkanovski spoke about who he could face next. 'If the UFC wants to give it to Yair [Rodriguez], I ain't gonna stop that for him,' Volkanovski said. 'I'll be honest, before that fight [against Patricio Freire], I didn't think if he won, he would be getting a shot. I'll be honest, that didn't come to mind. But now that he's calling, I'm not going to be the one to say no. I'm going to leave everything to the UFC. 'Obviously, you've got guys like Movsar, who's undefeated. I'd love to take that zero. We've got to see what the UFC say. I even seen him tweeting that he wants to fight someone in May and doing all this sort of stuff, so maybe he's had the chats and they want him to have one more fight. So I don't know that situation, but I'll see how things are. I'd love to say I want to get straight back in there. I still do. But I'm gonna have to maybe look at a couple of things.' As for Evloev, he's been angling for a title fight for a while. He revisited that idea in April on social media. Saturday, July 26, 2025 Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi Main Card: 3:00 p.m. ET Preliminary Card: 12:00 p.m. ET We will have more on UFC Abu Dhabi and the Movsar Evloev vs. Aaron Pico fight as fight night approaches.
