India Attacks Pakistan's Finances, Urges FATF To ‘Do The Right Thing': Inside Details Of Letter
Last Updated: Top government sources told News18 that India has once again written to the FATF to remind them to put Pakistan on the grey list during the next meeting India is mounting pressure on global financial institution Financial Action Task Force (FATF) to ensure Pakistan's economic lifeline is cut off. Top government sources told News18 that India has once again written to the FATF to remind it to do the 'right thing" by putting Pakistan on the grey list during the next meeting in autumn. The FATF lists countries according to their track records on clean money. So money laundering, for example, would put a country on the grey list, which is the equivalent of a poor CIBIL score. Sources say the letter lists all instances of past acts of terror which emanated from Pakistan, including the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. Another point highlighted was the more than 20% recent increase in Pakistan's defence budget. The development happened at a time when the International Monetary Fund (IMF) issued a payout for Pakistan. This suggests the money was not used for the welfare and development of people. Government sources say that the last point could be the clincher to prevail upon global institutions to ensure Pakistan gets no reprieve. In fact, there is some indication of good news. In a press release, the FATF said, 'The FATF reaffirms its support to over 200 jurisdictions within its Global Network to build and enhance their counter-financing of terrorism (CFT) measures…The FATF expresses grave concern and condemns the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, India, on 22 April 2025." This marks the third time the FATF has explicitly condemned a major terrorist attack, following previous condemnations in 2015 and 2019. The Pahalgam attack, which tragically claimed the lives of 26 tourists, targeted innocents in a horrifying manner – they were killed at point-blank range in front of their families after being forced to confirm their religion. The FATF has enhanced its focus on the effectiveness of measures countries have put in place. That is how FATF has identified gaps that need to be addressed. The FATF has developed guidance on terrorist financing risk to support experts that contribute to evaluations of the 200+ jurisdictions in the Global Network. The FATF will soon release a comprehensive analysis of terrorist financing, compiling cases provided by the Global Network. As emphasised by FATF President Elisa de Anda Madrazo recently, 'No single company, authority, or country can combat this challenge alone. We must be unified against the scourge of global terrorism. Because terrorists need to succeed only once to achieve their goal, while we have to succeed every time to prevent it." Top government sources say that it is rare for the FATF to issue condemnation of terror acts. With the move and the letter, India is hoping for stern action against Pakistan. BREAKING NEWS Fired ex-ABC News reporter Terry Moran lashes out with VERY petty claim after axing over Trump rant
An ABC News reporter fired over an anti-Trump X post has started a petty squabble with his former employer over his axing. Terry Moran took exception to an ABC News' spokesperson's suggestion that he was at the end of his contract anyway and that the anti-Trump rant had sealed network boss's decision not to renew it. Last week, Moran was sacked after branding President Trump and his top aide Stephen Miller 'richly endowed with the capacity for hatred.' ABC top bosses fired Moran within two days of him sending and deleting the post, citing a 'clear violation' of the network's policies. Speaking to the New York Times on Monday, Moran insisted it was 'not a drunk tweet', and lashed out at the suggestion he was on the outs anyway. He said his former employer was 'bailing' on a 'pre-existing oral agreement' that would have seen his contract renewed for three more years. The statement which infuriated Moran read: 'We are at the end of our agreement with Terry Moran, and based on his recent post — which was a clear violation of ABC News policies — we have made the decision to not renew.' Moran also told The Times that he wasn't drunk when he sent the post that cost him a job - and insisted that he stood by his words.

Grocery startup KiranaPro CEO gives an update on how company's servers were deleted: It was not hacking but ...
KiranaPro, a grocery delivering startup was recently hit by a sever cyberattack in which led to the complete deletion of its servers. Now, the company CEO Deepak Ravindran has confirmed that recent data wipeout was not the result of any external cyberattack, but rather an internal breach caused by a former employee. Ravindran posted on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) about the indecent. In post, he wrote that the company initially suspected hacking but later discovered that a trusted internal employee was responsible for deleting critical server logs. Despite the setback, KiranaPro assured that customer data remains intact, and the company is working to restore its services. The startup has also strengthened security measures, including revamping access controls and improving audit logging, to prevent similar incidents in the future. KiranaPro's complete data deleted: Here's what happened KiranaPro lost access to its backend servers and app source code, leading to disruptions in its operations. Initially, the company feared a targeted cyberattack, but an internal investigation revealed that the data deletion was intentional and carried out by an ex-employee with legitimate system access. The startup, which operates on the Indian government's Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), had been serving 55,000 customers across 50 cities, facilitating 2,000 orders daily. KiranaPro CEO Deepak Ravindran on how company's servers were deleted Ravindran explained that the individual behind the breach had worked with him previously and was part of the company's product team. The employee's role was terminated due to internal restructuring, and shortly after, the server logs were wiped. "This was not a hack. No external party exploited vulnerabilities or bypassed security protocols. Instead, it was an internal data breach by someone who had legitimate access to our systems," Ravindran stated Read KiranaPro CEO Deepak Ravindran complete post here Clarifying the Recent Incident at @kirana_pro In light of recent events affecting our infrastructure, I want to take a moment to provide clarity and transparency regarding what occurred, the last few days have been hectic and stressful and firstly I would thank you for your support during such trying times. Here is a snapshot of what happened and what did not. After careful investigation, we conclude that this was not a hack. No external party penetrated our ordering or payment systems, exploited vulnerabilities, or bypassed security protocols. Our external security posture remains intact, and there is no evidence of any unauthorized access from outside the organization. All customer data stays intact. Instead, this was an internal data breach. Specifically, it was the result of actions taken by a trusted internal employee who had legitimate access to our systems. This individual intentionally deleted critical server logs while they were being tested and/or edited, an action that goes directly against our policies, our principles, and the trust we place in our team. Why the Distinction Matters Understanding the nature of this incident is important: A hack implies that a system was compromised from the outside. Typically due to security flaws or insufficient safeguards, which could place customers and stakeholders at broader risk. An internal breach, however, involves someone with authorized access misusing their privileges. This represents a very different type of threat: one rooted in internal trust and the perpetrators need for vengeance, rather than technical system vulnerability. What We're Doing We are taking this breach extremely seriously and have already taken the following steps: •Internal teams are working hard to bring the KiranaPro app back up live. •Initiated a full forensic review to determine the complete scope and impact of the data deletion. •Strengthened access controls and improved audit logging to prevent similar incidents in the future. •Reinforced internal policies and implemented additional training around data governance and privileged access, restructed MFA for all parties working on the server and implemented a One-to-One Entry Log to the databases as we rebuild what we lost during this attack. •Pursuing appropriate disciplinary and legal action against the individual responsible, in line with the severity of the breach. I fully understand the concern this incident may cause. As the founder, I want to reiterate our commitment to protecting our systems and data not only from external threats but from internal misuse as well. An attack of this kind is not an attack on outcomes, It is an attack on trust and the covenant we share with our employees, The next few months will see us come back, with learnings from this experience with stronger controls and systems in place. Love Island removes Yulissa Escobar after viral casteist slur video shocks fans
It has not taken long for Season 7 of Love Island USA to spiral into controversy. In just the second episode, fans were hit with the shocking onscreen message: 'Yulissa has left the villa.' No context, no warning—just a vanishing act that sparked instant speculation online. Love Island drama hits early—and it is messy Turns out, the abrupt exit of Miami-based contestant Yulissa Escobar came right after a resurfaced video exposed her using the N-word in past podcast appearances. The clip, published by TMZ just one day before the episode aired, sent social media into meltdown. By the time the second episode hit Peacock, Yulissa was officially gone. Fans were not quiet about their feelings. Even before the episode aired, the comment section under Yulissa's official cast photo had already turned into a digital battleground. Viewers were calling for her to be eliminated, with messages like, 'We're sending you home the FIRST vote' flooding the post. Her Instagram eventually limited the comments—but the damage had been done. Network confirms her exit, but keeps it vague A Peacock spokesperson confirmed that 'Yulissa left the villa,' but offered no explanation. While Entertainment Weekly reached out to Escobar's reps, there has been no public statement from her team as of now. The show moved on quickly, but the fans? Not so much. Who was Yulissa Escobar before the controversy? Before the scandal, Yulissa was introduced as the fun, confident 27-year-old mobile bar owner looking for her 'knight in shining armour.' Fresh off a nine-year relationship, she claimed she was stronger and happier than ever. 'I am like a bundle of joy that came out of nowhere,' she said in her promo video. But that joyful energy quickly evaporated with the controversy now surrounding her name. The internet reacts From Twitter threads to TikTok and Instagram, the internet has been ablaze. Some are praising Peacock for acting swiftly, while others are questioning why proper vetting did not catch the clips earlier. Either way, Love Island has officially entered its drama era—and it is only week one.
