Kid Rock Talks Bringing ‘Pro American' Rock the Country Fest to Arkansas With Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders
In advance of this weekend's first Arkansas edition of Kid Rock's Rock the Country festival, the 'American Bad Ass' singer sat down with the state's Governor, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, to discuss why he's bringing his 'pro-American' event to the Natural State. Describing the concept of the two-day fest slated for June 20-21 at the Arkansas State Fairgrounds as a 'small town, pro-American… everything pro-American music festival for a lot of people I felt were underserved in this country,' Rock said he was excited when he heard from Trump administration press secretary Huckabee Sanders had invited him to her state. Saturday night will open with Deana Carter, followed by Little Texas, Lee Greenwood, Hudson Westbrook, a house party set from Afroman and then headlining spots from Travis Tritt and Rock. 'Any time you have an event like this an an opportunity to bring in such a huge headliner, that is something that will a big difference in the state, bring in a lot of revenue, tourism,' said Huckabee Sanders, who was seated in front of a mural of a giant eagle with the American flag painted on the inside of its wings alongside a short-wearing Rock. She added that she hoped people from 'all over the country' would come to the show. 'So not only are we excited to hear great music and see from people that love this country but also it's a big win for Arkansas to have that kind of economic driver,' she said. Rock the Country kicked off in April with shows in Louisiana and Tennessee, followed by gigs in rural Missouri and Florida and a stop in York, PA in May. The tour will march on after Little Rock with scheduled shows in Ashland, KY (July 11-12), Sioux Falls, SD (July 18-19) and Anderson, S.C. (July 25-26). Registration opening soon for alligator hunting in Arkansas this fall

AGFC officials said each permit authorizes the harvest of one alligator, which must be at least four feet long. Officials added that alligator hunting is allowed 30 minutes after sunset until 30 minutes before sunrise during the approved alligator hunting season dates, Sept. 19 to Sept. 22 and Sept. 26 to Sept. 29. Over 11,000 Arkansans without power after Saturday morning storms
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Storms moving through the Natural State on Saturday morning have left thousands without power. According to , 11,121 Arkansans were without power after storms entered the western part of the state shortly after 8 a.m. The county with the most outages was Scott County with 4,873 without power. Another county with a high number of outages include Madison with 2,195 outages. Other counties with outages are Crawford, Franklin, Newton, Jackson and Woodruff. Firefighters and EMS from different counties gather for boat safety training in Arkansas
DEGRAY LAKE, Ark. – One of the largest inland fireboat training schools in the United States made its way back to Arkansas, and this year leaders are taking water safety to a new level. The Natural State's lakes and rivers are something that people enjoy, but it can be dangerous with over 30 accidents reported in the last 42 years according to American Whitewater. Bill Barnes, Co Chairman of Arkansas Fireboat School says their program is focused on lowering those numbers. 'We have thousands of boats that are trailered into this state every year, our guests our visitors that are on the lake, so were set up to respond to all those emergencies,' Barnes said. New video shows multi-agency rescue at Arkansas River dam Firefighters and EMS crews trained to operate boats from different counties, and some from Texas and Missouri were all presented with 15 different water emergency scenarios. Sunday storms create power outages for Arkansans
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – As storms made their way through the Natural State Sunday morning, many Arkansans were left without power. According to data from , 17,893 customers in the state were without power as storms passed through Sunday morning. Residents in Johnson County were hit the hardest, with 2,182 without power.
