Nick Carter sparks concern with alarming slimmed-down photo: ‘Hope he's doing fine'
Nick Carter's slimmed-down appearance has sparked concern among fans who are worried about his wellbeing. On Wednesday, the singer shared a relaxing selfie via Instagram ahead of practice for the Backstreet Boys' Las Vegas residency at the Sphere. 'Soaking up some Vegas heat before today's rehearsals,' Carter, 45, captioned the photo. Carter appeared in good spirits, wearing a grey hat and a dark red Ford T-shirt. Fans couldn't help but voice their concerns about his thin frame in the comments section, however, with one writing, 'Sorry to say, but you look a bit too thin to me! … I hope you're okay, @nickcarter! Love you so much!' 'He looks very unhealthy, hope he is okay!' another added, as a third chimed in, 'I'm a [bit] nervous.' 'Maybe he took some Ozempic,' a fourth wrote, to which another snapped back, 'Maybe you should mind your business.' Meanwhile, others rushed to Carter's defence, urging critics not to 'comment on other people's bodies.' 'Hey ladies … just like we don't want men commenting on our weight … men don't need to hear your opinions either,' one supporter wrote. '[I] think it's more out of concern … hope he's doing fine mentally and physically,' a second added. A source, meanwhile, told Page Six that Carter is 'not on Ozempic.' According to the insider, the pop icon and his bandmates have been rehearsing for their Vegas residency 'for the past two months now' and 'working out non-stop.' 'It's not going to be an easy show,' the source continued, adding that Carter's social media proves that he has slowly slimmed down over the past few months. 'It didn't happen overnight,' they said. Reps for Carter did not immediately respond to Page Six's request for comment. The Backstreet Boys — which also consists of Brian Littrell, AJ McLean, Kevin Richardson and Howie Dorough — will begin their Into The Millennium residency at the Sphere starting July 11. They are set to perform 21 concerts before wrapping their final show in late August. Nick's return to the stage comes after the tragic deaths of three of his siblings, Leslie Carter, Aaron Carter and Bobbie Jean Carter, who passed away in 2012, 2022 and 2023, respectively. In November 2023, the I Want It That Way singer admitted he was still grieving his late brother, telling E! News that it 'hurts' not to have made amends before he passed. He also addressed Bobbie Jean's death in January 2024, writing via Instagram that 'it may take a lifetime to fully process the loss [his] family has endured over the years.' Nick was one of five siblings. The family is also survived by Aaron's twin sister, Angel.

Legendary '60s Musician Refuses Rock Hall Honor Over ‘Insulting' Label
Legendary '60s Musician Refuses Rock Hall Honor Over 'Insulting' Label originally appeared on Parade. Iconic musician Carol Kaye is skipping this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony — and she's not holding back about why. Kaye, 90, reportedly explained in a Facebook post that she's turning down the honor because the event doesn't properly represent the legacy of studio musicians during her era. 'NO I won't be there,' she wrote. 'I am declining the awards show… turning it down because it wasn't something that reflects the work that Studio Musicians do and did in the golden era of the 1960s Recording Hits.' She also voiced frustration over the Hall referring to her as part of the 'Wrecking Crew,' a label she's long rejected. 'You are always part of a TEAM, not a solo artist at all,' she wrote. 'There were always 350–400 Studio Musicians… I was never a 'wrecker' at all… that's a terrible, insulting name.' Shortly after her induction was announced, Kaye doubled down in the comments, saying, 'Please know our only name was Studio Musicians,' and added she wasn't sure if she could tolerate being labeled a 'wrecker' to attend the event. Although Kaye is opting out, the Hall will still induct her. A pioneering bassist with more than 10,000 recording credits, Kaye helped shape the sound of popular music behind the scenes, performing on hits by The Beach Boys, Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, Simon & Garfunkel and The Supremes — just to name a few. In her post, she also reflected on her unconventional rise to fame. Originally a jazz guitarist, she was invited to a recording session in 1957 and accidentally ended up playing bass in 1963 when another musician failed to show. 'I never played bass in my life,' she recalled, but quickly found a knack for inventing catchy bass lines. 'As a jazz musician, you invent every note you play.' Now, despite the honor, Kaye is choosing to stand by her values. 'I refuse to be part of a process that is something else rather than what I believe in… We all enjoyed working with EACH OTHER.' Legendary '60s Musician Refuses Rock Hall Honor Over 'Insulting' Label first appeared on Parade on Jun 19, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Jun 19, 2025, where it first appeared.

Sabrina Carpenter Lands Second Number One Single With 'Manchild'
Sabrina Carpenter's 'Manchild' has debuted atop Billboard's Hot 100, the publication confirmed Monday, marking Carpenter's second chart-topping song in her career. 'Manchild,' the lead single off Carpenter's upcoming seventh album Man's Best Friend, debuted with 27.1 million streams, per Billboard, while it sold 20,000 units. It dethroned rising Atlantic act Alex Warren's 'Ordinary,' which had spent the past two weeks atop the Hot 100. The number one opening comes almost exactly a year after Carpenter landed her first number one last June with 'Please Please Please.' More from The Hollywood Reporter Aura Entertainment Acquires Anderson .Paak's Directorial Debut 'K-Pops!' (Exclusive) Shakira Says Being an Immigrant in the U.S. Amid Trump's Policies "Means Living in Constant Fear" Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival Canceled Due to Weather The hot start is a positive sign as Carpenter looks to lock in the song of the summer for another year, after her breakthrough hit 'Espresso' became one of the biggest songs of 2024. Elsewhere on the songs chart, Morgan Wallen and Tate McRae's 'What I Want' fell to No. 3, and Wallen's 'Just in Case' came in fourth. Kendrick Lamar and SZA's 'Luther,' which spent 13 consecutive weeks at No. 1 this year, rounded out the Top Five this week. En route to her latest No. 1, Carpenter had picked up some controversy online for the recently revealed album artwork on Man's Best Friend, along with for her Rolling Stone cover, where she posed naked except for a pair of lace white stockings. In that cover story, Carpenter addressed critique about sexualization in her music. 'It's always so funny to me when people complain. They're like, 'All she does is sing about this.' But those are the songs that you've made popular,' Carpenter told the magazine. 'Clearly you love sex. You're obsessed with it. It's in my show. There's so many more moments than the 'Juno' positions, but those are the ones you post every night and comment on. I can't control that.' On the album's side, Wallen locked in a fourth consecutive week at No. 1 for I'm The Problem, staving off Lil Wayne's Tha Carter VI, which debuted at No. 2 this week with about 108,000 units. K-Pop group Enhyphen's Desire: Unleash debuted at No. 3, while TikTok influencer turned pop star Addison's debut album Addison took fourth.
