A magical winter wonderland has popped up on a rooftop in Southwest Sydney
Lady Banks Rooftop in Southwest Sydney has transformed into a magical winter wonderland, complete with igloos, warm fire pits, twinkling fairy lights, sweet delights and delicious cocktails – so if you're looking for something fun to do during these chilly months, look no further. The rooftop bar, located on Level 10 of Bankstown Sports Club and boasting 360-degree views of Sydney city and even the Blue Mountains, is hosting the fairy tale-coded Winter Wonderland every Friday to Sunday from now until August 31. For a super special date night, couples can book out the igloos for themselves for $100 per person, which includes a bottle of either Moët & Chandon or Whispering Angel rosé on arrival. Plus, you'll enjoy dinner under the stars, with a menu that features things like spanner crab brioche with finger lime mayonnaise; butterflied king prawns with chermoula; burrata with heirloom beetroot; wood-fired lamb gozleme with lemon and ricotta; and an apple and rhubarb crumble with pistachio ice cream for dessert. Groups of four to ten can opt for the $50 per person experience, which includes a magnum of bubbles or rosé and a share-style menu of yum snacks. Hello, birthday parties or a boozy lunch with the girls. Plus, a daily happy hour from 4-6pm with $10 mulled wine and $8 beer and wine – best enjoyed by the fire – makes a strong case for knockoffs. Bankstown Sports Club CEO Michael Clancy says: 'We're committed to keeping Lady Banks Rooftop fresh, exciting and full of new experiences – whether it's your first visit or your fifteenth. Winter Wonderland is all about creating a cosy, magical space where our patrons can come together to enjoy good company, warm drinks, and beautiful winter evenings. 'We know that not everyone wants to trek into the city when the temperature drops, so we've brought the magic closer to home – with private igloos, fire pits, fairy lights and frosty cocktails under the stars,' he adds. As well as the daily offers, Lady Banks Rooftop is hosting a bunch of fun events that you're not going to want to miss. Think a hot chocolate-fuelled après-ski weekend (June 19-22); Bastille Festival (July 11-12) with bubbles and brie; and Christmas in July (July 26), featuring puddings, tinsel and holiday vibes. Emirates Business Class offers even more bubbly-paired meals
Listen up, jet setters. Your meals in the clouds just got a serious upgrade. This summer, Emirates Business Class customers are in for a culinary experience like no other – 18 new dishes, each paired with a premium Moët & Chandon bubbly, are taking flight. This exclusive menu is the result of over a year's collaboration between Jean-Michel Bardet, Moët's head chef and Emirates' own vice president of culinary design, Doxis Bekris. Their mission? To design the menu to offer restaurant-quality dishes that complement the French bubbly house's most prestigious cuvées, all while being served at 40,000 feet. Among the new offerings, expect starters like poached scallops with green melon and kumquat, going well with the brand's grand vintage 2016. For vegan travellers, silken tofu with poached asparagus and cashew cream is paired with the impérial brut variant. Each dish has been designed to unlock and enhance the flavours of the bubbly that it's served with. Main courses include roasted duck with spiced couscous and cherry tomatoes with fruit-forward pink bubbly. While seafood-lovers will enjoy the seared Chilean seabass with lemongrass sauce and artichoke purée, a dish that is paired with the brut impérial. Even classic comfort foods like roasted turkey and creamy mash are given a luxurious twist and are served with the grand vintage 2016. Billionaire Arnault Urges EU-US Tariff Deal to Help Winegrowers
French billionaire Bernard Arnault, whose group LVMH owns Champagne labels like Moët & Chandon and Veuve Clicquot as well as Hennessy Cognac, called on the European Union to strike a deal with the US on tariffs to defend the region's winegrowers. Speaking on the sidelines of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE 's annual shareholders meeting in Paris Thursday, Arnault seemed to suggest that EU leaders weren't pushing hard enough for an accord. The EU and US have made scant progress bridging trade differences this week. Officials from President Donald Trump's administration indicated that the bulk of the US tariffs imposed on the bloc will not be removed, while providing little clarity on their goals for the negotiations, Bloomberg reported earlier.
