‘God Bless the USA' singer Lee Greenwood to perform at Army parade

(NewsNation) — Singer Lee Greenwood said his lifelong support of the military will make his performance at the Army's massive parade this weekend 'very special.' Greenwood's song 'God Bless the USA' — a staple at President Donald Trump's events — will echo throughout the nation's capital on Saturday as the Army celebrates its 250th birthday with a parade through Washington, D.C. Where the 'No Kings' anti-Trump military parade protests are planned 'My wife and I are both USO veterans, and we work constantly to support our military,' Greenwood said Thursday on 'Morning in America.' 'So, this is going to make it very special to be singing my American anthem for the 250-year anniversary.' The Flag Day celebration also marks Trump's 79th birthday. 'My wife and I will be attending several of the events with the president and enjoying the day,' Greenwood said. 'So, people come out and see this. It's going to be fantastic.' Gold Star wife using experience with trauma to help others Regarding potential security concerns, Greenwood told NewsNation he is 'always comfortable traveling with our servicemen and women' and doesn't foresee any issues. 'I don't think we're going to have any kind of disruption of that wonderful event,' he said. Army officials estimate around 200,000 will attend the military parade Saturday. Trump's military parade in trouble? First Republicans back out — now TV giants like CBS, NBC, ABC might barely air it

On June 14 to mark the 250th anniversary of U.S. Army and mainly for Trump's birthday, his team organized a large military parade in Washington, D.C. The parade will have helicopters, Bradley vehicles, fireworks, and a parachute jump by the Golden Knights team. Big TV networks like CBS, NBC, and ABC are not fully airing the parade. They will not stop their regular shows for it, says reports. ABC will air the parade on its online news channel, ABC News Live, starting at 6 p.m. NBC will also stream it on NBC News Now, not on the main NBC channel. CBS will stream it on CBS News 24/7, not on their main channel either. Fox News is going all in, they'll show 4 hours of live parade coverage from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m, as reported by Variety. Lawrence Jones and Emily Compagno will be the lead host for Fox's parade coverage from D.C. Earlier, Fox & Friends Weekend broadcast live from West Potomac Park with guests including Army Secretary Dan Driscoll. NewsNation will also show long coverage, with Leland Vittert and Anna Kooiman hosting 'Tribute to America' starting at 6 p.m. Big TV networks avoid full coverage Their morning show 'Morning in America' will show the Army drill team and military vehicles too. ABC is sticking to its plan to show the UFL Championship game at night, since sports draw more live viewers. NBC will show the U.S. Open golf tournament during parade time and then reality shows, as stated in the report by Variety. CBS will air its local news and other programs like 'Elsbeth' and '48 Hours' after the parade. Fox will skip the parade and show baseball, Yankees vs Red Sox or Padres vs Diamondbacks. Trump's White House doesn't have a strong bond with big TV networks. He's sued ABC and CBS recently, according to reports. Live Events Disney which owns ABC paid $15 million to Trump's library after an anchor wrongly said Trump was found guilty of rape. Actually, the jury found him liable for sexual abuse, not rape, and Trump denied it. CBS's parent company is fighting a lawsuit from Trump about a Kamala Harris interview on '60 Minutes', as mentioned in the report by Variety. This lawsuit might be used to slow down CBS's important merger with Skydance Media. MSNBC will only give light coverage and let anchor Ali Velshi cover 'news as it happens.' CNN didn't share any info on their parade coverage plans, as per reports. FAQs Q1. Why won't ABC, CBS, and NBC show Trump's parade fully? They are busy showing sports or regular shows, and don't want to stop for the parade. Q2. Which TV channels will show the full parade? Fox News and NewsNation will show full live coverage with hosts and special programs.
