3 reasons why Tommy Vercetti was the Original GTA mastermind
(Image via Rockstar Games) GTA has always been about rising to the top by any means necessary. But before we had Michael's scheming, Niko's calculated choices, or Franklin's street-smart hustle, there was Tommy Vercetti. The loud suit. The sharper mind. And arguably, the first real criminal mastermind in GTA history. Here are some reasons why he was the original mastermind of the GTA series. 1. He Went From Being a Hitman to Kingpin Tommy doesn't start as a nobody — he starts as a somebody fresh out of prison. Sent to Vice City by the Liberty City mob to oversee a drug deal, Tommy instantly gets thrown into chaos. The deal goes sideways, money and drugs go missing, and now he's on the hook. Instead of running or reporting back, Tommy decides to flip the board. He hunts down leads, takes out threats, and slowly builds his empire — all while keeping tabs on those who tried to screw him over. Mastermind energy? 100%. How Tommy Vercetti Became The Kingpin Of Vice City 2. He Built an Empire Brick by Brick Tommy's playbook wasn't just guns and grit; it was business. He took over nightclubs, bought strip joints, ran drug routes, and controlled property across Vice City. The dude was playing Monopoly while everyone else was stuck in Grand Theft Auto 101. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Memperdagangkan CFD Emas dengan salah satu spread terendah? He was the boss. 3. He Was Ruthless, Strategic, and Untouchable What made Tommy different? He didn't care about being flashy or famous: he wanted control. He eliminated threats like Ricardo Diaz with surgical precision. He turned enemies into allies (shoutout Lance Vance… until that betrayal), and never let loyalty blind him to power plays. Tommy wasn't chaotic like Trevor or conflicted like Michael; he was cold, calculated, and always ten steps ahead. The smartest protagonist in GTA Games - Tommy Vercetti | GTA Vice City So, Was He the Original Mastermind? Absolutely. Tommy Vercetti was the blueprint. He was the first GTA protagonist to combine brute force with smart strategy. The first to really own a city. And the first to show that in the world of GTA, brains beat bullets — if you know how to play the game. He walked into Vice City as a hired thug. He walked out as its king. Tommy didn't just play the game — he mastered it. Game On Season 1 kicks off with Sakshi Malik's inspiring story. Watch Episode 1 here

Hasbro has reportedly laid off 3% of its global workforce as tariffs boost costs at the toy maker. According to The Wall Street Journal, the laid-off employees, who spanned departments and regions worldwide, were informed of the cuts on Monday. The layoffs affect approximately 150 employees, based on Hasbro's 4,985 global staffers cited in its 2024 annual report. Hasbro (HAS) has reportedly laid off 3% of its global workforce as tariffs boost costs at the toy maker. According to The Wall Street Journal, the laid-off employees, who spanned departments and regions worldwide, were informed of the cuts on Monday. Roughly 150 employees are affected by the layoffs at the maker of Monopoly and Nerf, based on Hasbro's 4,985 global staffers cited in its 2024 annual report. According to Reuters, it sources about half of its toys and games sold in the U.S. from China, which has faced a spike in tariffs on its exports into the U.S. under the Trump administration. Hasbro didn't immediately respond to an Investopedia request for comment. In April, Hasbro stuck with its full-year forecasts for the year though it noted the 'uncertainty of the current tariff environment.' Hasbro shares, which entered Wednesday up by a fifth this year, were flat in premarket trading. Umm, Mansory has just made a Monopoly-spec convertible G-Wagen
Umm, Mansory has just made a Monopoly-spec convertible G-Wagen Want your 809bhp Merc off-roader with lots of Pennybags branding? Here ya go Skip 19 photos in the image carousel and continue reading Turn on Javascript to see all the available pictures. 1 / 19 For reasons we cannot yet fathom, Mansory has transformed the Mercedes-Benz G63 into a short-wheelbase, four-door convertible liveried with everyone's favourite post-Christmas, family-destroying game: Monopoly. Still reeling from when you landed on your sibling's hotel in Mayfair? Look away now. Via creative input from the appropriately named street artist and DJ, Alec Monopoly, this big Merc is dubbed the 'AL3C MONO9O7Y'. It's based on the Grand Entrée Mansory revealed last winter. Advertisement - Page continues below There's a black and white 100 currency note on the sides with splashes of paint, and a seemingly triumphant Pennybags. He's spotted again on the rear wheel cover, this time joined by a band of (presumably) elated bankers. The rest of the body gets Mansory's now familiar grainy carbon look, and new 24in gloss black 'FC.5' alloys, each gaining an individually coloured inner ring. Inside, the cabin is coated in an aqua-blue theme and retains all the familiar G-Wagen touchpoints, only with more Monopoly in places such as the door cards and the passenger handle bar. The seat belts are different colours too, and the rear seat cushions see yet more Monopoly. Beneath the bonnet sits a 4.0-litre V8, spruced up with bigger turbos, a new air filter and a shoutier sports exhaust. As such, outputs now sit at 809bhp and 848lb ft, so 0-62mph hovers around the four-second mark. Advance to really very Go. Toymaker Hasbro cuts 3% of its total workforce, WSJ reports
(Reuters) -Hasbro has cut 3% of its global workforce in a bid to cut costs amid higher tariffs, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday. Swirling worries about a global trade war after U.S. President Donald Trump's tariffs on trading partners have piled pressure on the toy industry that was already struggling with weak demand. Hasbro did not immediately respond to Reuters request for comment. The current job cuts are part of the latest round of a multi-year restructuring at the maker of Monopoly board games and Nerf blasters, the Wall Street Journal added. In December 2023, Hasbro had said it would cut 900 jobs globally, nearly a year after saying it would reduce 15% of its workforce due to weaker sales. The company had roughly 4,985 employees globally, according to its fiscal 2024 annual filing.
