Why Troy Aikman doesn't mingle with his famous neighbors Meghan Markle and Prince Harry? The NFL star finally explains
NFL icon Troy Aikman explains why he keeps his distance from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry (Getty Images) NFL icon Troy Aikman may be enjoying the peace and quiet of Montecito, California, but he has no plans to bond with two of the neighborhood's most talked-about residents — Prince Harry and Meghan Markle . The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback, known for his down-to-earth nature, lives just a stone's throw away from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, but proximity doesn't always translate to friendship. What's keeping Troy Aikman from befriending Meghan and Harry? In a recent interview with Us Weekly, Aikman made it clear that his social circle doesn't overlap with the royals. While promoting his EIGHT Elite Light Beer, the 58-year-old Hall of Famer jokingly said, 'I don't think they're drinking much light beer.' That light-hearted jab revealed more than just a taste in beverages — it hinted at a cultural disconnect between the NFL legend and his royal neighbors. Despite living in the same upscale enclave of Montecito, Aikman hasn't had any run-ins with the couple. 'I haven't run into them. But they are there, from what I can gather. I think anyone with a heartbeat knows that they're out there,' he said, before adding with a chuckle, 'But I'm not hanging with them, that's for sure.' Troy Aikman Jokes About Why He Hasn't Spent Time With Neighbors Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Montecito has long been known for its serenity and exclusivity, but that reputation has slightly shifted since Harry and Meghan made the move in 2020 following their royal exit. Since settling into their $14 million mansion with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, the Sussexes have drawn a mix of curiosity and criticism. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Вот что поза во сне говорит о вашем характере! Удивительные Новости Undo Some locals, as revealed in Vanity Fair, have expressed discomfort over increased traffic, tourist activity, and rising property prices, suggesting the couple's presence may have changed the dynamics of the neighborhood. However, it's not all icy receptions for the Duke and Duchess. They've reportedly built close ties with high-profile residents like Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King, and once shared a friendly bond with Ellen DeGeneres before she relocated to England. Aikman, meanwhile, is laser-focused on his broadcasting duties. As one-half of ESPN's 'Monday Night Football' duo alongside Joe Buck, he continues to bring expert analysis and seasoned commentary to fans across the country. Having transitioned from the football field to the broadcast booth in 2001, the three-time Super Bowl champion remains a fixture in American sports media. While Aikman may not be mingling with Montecito's royal residents, he seems content with his own path — one paved with beer, football, and zero royal entanglements. Troy Aikman's joke on drinking preference of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and why they don't hang out
Pro Football Hall of Famer Troy Aikman may be living the California dream in Montecito , but don't expect to spot him sipping tea—or light beer—with his famous neighbors, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle , anytime soon. Aikman, the legendary Dallas Cowboys quarterback and current ESPN 'Monday Night Football' broadcaster, recently revealed why he hasn't become friendly with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, despite sharing the same exclusive zip code. 'I haven't run into them,' Aikman told US Weekly. 'But they are there from what I can gather. I think anyone with a heartbeat knows that they're out there. But I'm not hanging with them, that's for sure.' Promoting his Eight Elite Light Beer , Aikman joked that he doesn't picture Harry and Meghan 'drinking much light beer,' hinting that their social circles—and beverage preferences—might not overlap. The NFL icon, 58, is known for his disciplined lifestyle and love for fitness, noting that while he enjoys beer, he's equally passionate about working out and healthy living. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like These Photos Captured the Exact Wrong Moment Read More Undo Harry and Meghan moved to Montecito in 2020 after stepping back from royal duties, but their integration into the local community has been a mixed bag. Despite the star power concentrated in Montecito—where celebrities like Natalie Portman, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Jeff Bridges also reside—Aikman seems content to keep his interactions casual and his social calendar focused elsewhere. 'I don't think they're drinking much light beer,' he quipped, making it clear that, royal or not, he's not angling for an invite to Frogmore Cottage West. Former Packers CB Jaire Alexander Predicted To Sign $16M Deal With NFC Contender
Former Packers CB Jaire Alexander Predicted To Sign $16M Deal With NFC Contender originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Green Bay Packers fans can imagine a few destinations they would not be pleased with if former two-time All-Pro and Pro Bowler Jaire Alexander were to sign elsewhere. The most obvious rival is the Minnesota Vikings, who have a history of signing former Packers players after their time in Green Bay. Notable examples include Aaron Jones, Brett Favre, Dean Lowry, Za'Darius Smith, Robert Tonyan, and many others. Advertisement On the AFC side, the team that makes the most sense to go after Alexander is probably the Baltimore Ravens. They are a Super Bowl contender, and Lamar Jackson is good friends with him. According to Over the Cap, Baltimore has over $18.5 million in cap space, so they have the money to sign him. If that happens, Packers fans would see Alexander again in Week 17, when the Ravens come to Green Bay. Alexander should have a strong market, and there should be no rush for him to pick a new team. Among the options out there, the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles could be a strong suitor. CBS Sports' Cody Benjamin even predicts Alexander will sign a one-year, $16 million deal with Philly. Former Green Bay Packers CB Jaire Alexander (23) celebrates with CB Keisean Nixon (25) after a play during the second half against the Philadelphia Eagles© Kirby Lee-Imagn Images "All offseason, Alexander and the Green Bay Packers braced for a split over the two-time second-team All-Pro cornerback's contract, which once looked reasonable but quickly became concerning as the cover man missed more and more time due to injuries," Benjamin said. "The divorce finally occurred prior to minicamp, with the Packers outright releasing the veteran to free agency. Advertisement "Joining the rival Minnesota Vikings would be spicy and smart for both sides, while the Rams and Baltimore Ravens also make sense as playoff-contending suitors. The Philadelphia Eagles are due for a splash, though, and Alexander, who just happened to be born in Philly, would give them a higher-upside rental for their title-winning secondary. Prediction: Signs one-year, $16 million deal with Philadelphia Eagles." It would not bode well for Green Bay's chances of making a serious Super Bowl run if Alexander ended up in Philadelphia — especially if he managed to stay healthy. Howie Roseman is known as one of the most aggressive General Managers in the league, and it is entirely plausible to imagine him pairing the two-time All-Pro with Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell in an already stacked Eagles secondary. Green Bay and Philly went head-to-head twice last season — first in the NFL's first-ever regular season game in Brazil, then again in the NFC Wild Card round. The Eagles won both times. They are scheduled to meet again in Week 10 on Monday Night Football, and that game has the feel of a classic. If Alexander signs with the Eagles, it adds one more layer to an already loaded storyline.
