Abu Dhabi Hosts First Infrastructure Summit ADIS

It was hosted by the Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Centre (ADPIC). The event was held under the theme Future Cities: Rethinking Infrastructure for Better Lifestyles . It attracted more than 4,000 attendees from over 100 countries. Organizers reported participation from over 70 global speakers and 30 exhibitors. These included developers, multilateral institutions, technology innovators, academic institutions, and global consultancies. During the two-day summit, 15 agreements and strategic partnerships were signed. ADIS was supported by a strong network of partners: Modon was announced as Headline Partner, while Aldar was the Real Estate Partner. Strategic Partners included Bloom, Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), and Etihad Rail. Abu Dhabi Police was the Government Partner. Lead Development joined as Platinum Partner. Etihad Airways was the Diamond Partner. Plenary and National Bank of Fujairah served as Silver Partners. His Excellency Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), stated that ADIS reflects Abu Dhabi's vision for sustainable urban development. He noted the summit reinforces the emirate's global leadership in infrastructure innovation. His Excellency Eng Maysarah Mahmoud Eid, Director General of ADPIC, revealed that ADIS is a major step toward shaping the emirate's infrastructure. He emphasized its long-term impact on economic, social, and environmental goals. In addition, several global Collaboration Partners contributed to the summit. Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, joined H.E. Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, to discuss the intersection of infrastructure, investment, and livability. During the session, H.E. Al Shorafa unveiled two major initiatives: the Liveability and Investment Exhibition (LIVEX), aimed at attracting global partnerships. ADNEC Group, a Modon Company, has launched a new smart parking system at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, a project aimed to leverage the experience for the venue's annual 3 million visitors. The system applies internationally recognised technology and integrated digital services to manage parking more efficiently, from entry to exit, providing visitors, exhibitors and event organisers with a more convenient parking journey and increasing the accessibility of the venue. The Smart Parking System has a feature that uses high-definition cameras, capturing vehicle number plates upon entry and issues digital parking tickets within seconds. Message screens inside the parking facility will provide real-time updates on available parking spaces, allowing visitors to locate open spots more quickly and reduce congestion. This system will greatly improve both visitors and exhibitors experience of having a smoother flow eliminating the inconvenience of searching for parking. By minimising delays and streamlining entry and exit, the Smart Parking System supports smoother event operations and contributes to a more efficient flow of traffic throughout the premises. This enhanced functionality reflects ADNEC Group's ongoing commitment to leveraging smart infrastructure to elevate the overall visitor experience. Supported payment methods include Mastercard, Visa, American Express, UnionPay, Apple Pay and Google Pay, while cash payments can also be made through self-service kiosks at major exit points. For exhibitors and visitors, digital tickets can be pre-booked and accessed via mobile devices, including Apple Wallet for iOS. Vehicles registered in advance benefit from an automated process, where number plate recognition allows entry and exit without the need to open windows or interact with barriers. The entire system is powered by ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi internal fibre optic network, integrating hundreds of components across the site.
