MoI foils drug trafficking attempt, seizes pills
Ministry of Interior's (MoI) Anti-Narcotics Units successfully thwarted a criminal attempt to distribute narcotic pills within the UAE, after field teams discovered suspicious activities involving two Arab nationals, who, investigations revealed had connection with an international drug trafficking network. Security forces reportedly raided two locations, a storage site where the suspects were unloading and preparing the pills for trafficking and another site where a digger was used to conceal an additional amount, based on information gathered by the teams. The suspects confessed to having partners who prepared and smuggled the drugs from Hamburg, Germany, to a UAE port. One suspect reportedly entered the UAE on a visit visa specifically to execute the operation and the mastermind, residing abroad, financed and managed the entire plan. A senior official from the MoI emphasised the critical role of international cooperation in combating transnational drug networks, adding that the ministry will continue investigations to apprehend the remaining suspects abroad, collaborating with international counterparts through legal channels.

MoI assistant undersecretary visits FIFA Club World Cup stadium
DOHA: Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) for Security Affairs Sheikh Nayef bin Faleh bin Saud Al Thani has visited the Rose Bowl Stadium in Los Angeles in conjunction with the kickoff of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025. He was accompanied by a number of department directors and officers from the Ministry of Interior and Lekhwiya, as part of the operational monitoring programme in cooperation with FIFA. He was briefed on the security system in place for major sporting events.

MoI ramps up security and traffic preparations for Eid Al-Adha holiday
KUWAIT CITY, June 5: The Ministry of Interior (MoI) confirmed on Thursday that its security and traffic sectors across all six governorates have finalized preparations to secure the Eid Al-Adha holiday, aiming to ensure public safety and boost reassurance among citizens and residents. In a press statement, the Ministry's General Department of Security Relations and Media said various field units have increased their presence at key locations, including shopping malls, entertainment venues, residential neighborhoods, and border crossings. This is part of a comprehensive plan to improve traffic flow and maintain public order throughout the holiday period. The Ministry urged the public to adhere to general safety guidelines and cooperate with security personnel to help create a safe and comfortable environment during the Eid celebrations. It also highlighted that emergency operations rooms are working around the clock to handle reports through the emergency hotline (112). The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to ongoing security efforts throughout the holiday and extended wishes for a happy and safe Eid to all.

Ten Arrested in Kuwait, Large Quantities of Narcotics Seized in Security Raid
KUWAIT CITY, June 2: The Ministry of Interior announced on Monday the detention of ten persons on charges of dealing with narcotics and psychotropic drugs in a chain of well-planned raids. The MoI security information department said in a statement that the suspects were apprehended during security operations in Al-Gurain, Wafra, Andalos, Saad Al-Abdullah City, Khairan, and Sabah Al-Salem districts. The engaged personnel found and confiscated six kilograms of shabu (methamphetamine) materials, three kilograms of hashish, 7000 Lyrica capsules, guns of various calibers, ammunition, and suspicious funds. It has affirmed the determination to pursue the security campaigns against 'dealers in these contaminating substances,' warning that the security forces will act firmly against such dangerous activities. It called on the citizens and residents to cooperate with the security personnel and report any suspicious activities for the sake of safeguarding society
