Acron Aviation has announced the launch of its new iOS application, Astra, which is designed to provide pilots and management teams with personalised performance data and insights before and after each flight. The app is described as a tool for transforming how flight performance data is accessed and used by pilots and airline operators. Data-driven flight operations Astra's safety module offers pre- and post-flight insights, prioritising safety and fostering continuous improvement for pilots and operations teams. Key features include the monitoring of fuel consumption, aircraft wear-and-tear, and performance metrics, all available through an intuitive dashboard that provides management teams with comprehensive oversight at fleet level. After Party City closed over 700 stores, 2 locally owned Austin locations will remain open
In December of last year, with bankruptcy looming, Party City declared the party was over and announced it would close all of its more than 700 stores across the country. So why are two Austin locations still dancing while everyone else heads for the exits? According to Mitesh Patel, the owner of the Austin locations, despite Party City stopping the music, shoppers don't have to go home—they can keep the party going at their favorite Austin stores. 'In a significant development for the community and party supply enthusiasts, locally owned and operated Party City stores are open and ready to serve the public, even as all corporate Party City locations have been closed,' Patel said in a statement. Because Mitesh Patel owns his Party City locations outright, they are not subject to the closings. Patel is choosing to rally instead of turning in, keeping the party going at 5610 Brodie Lane and 11150 Research Blvd. Patel said his stores will 'continue to operate with the same commitment to quality, creativity, and community spirit.' According to CoStar, a commercial real estate information company, the two Austin locations will be among 29 stores left of what was once a lineup of roughly 700 stores. Of these 29 locations, Patel is one of only nine remaining owners who are still operating Party City locations. 'Our Party City stores have deep roots in the community since 1984,' Patel said in a statement. 'We are proud to continue serving our neighbors with the same passion and personal touch that has long defined our brand. Our commitment is to ensure that every party, from small gatherings to large celebrations, is a success.' Last December, it became apparent that Party City would be filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy for the second time, and this time around, it planned to finally take down the streamers. "The decision was made following exhaustive efforts by the company to find a path forward that would allow continued operations in an immensely challenging environment driven by inflationary pressures on costs and consumer spending, among other factors," Party City said in a statement at the time. Debt has been a consistent party foul for the company and was the cause of its first bankruptcy in January 2023. During that filing, it was found that things were slightly looking up as it had less debt but fewer stores. In its statement, Party City referenced its prior Chapter 11 restructuring, in which it eliminated nearly $1 billion in debt, though it is reported that it could still be nearly $700 million in debt.
