It's Time to Invest in Affordable Jewelry, says Jewel Fairy Haena Sia-Foo

We work tirelessly for a better future—that's what we always say. Oftentimes, we think that there are far better things to spend our pennies on than spending them on jewelry. Which is why investing in jewelry is a luxury we think we cannot afford. Luxury for all. That is Haena Sanbie Sia-Foo's advocacy—to be able to bring these luxurious pieces within reach so that people can invest for their futures while enjoying the jewels wrapped around their fingers. High-quality pieces often come with a price; so, having to read the word affordable next to jewelry seems so surreal. But with Sia-Foo's unwavering dedication to her advocacy, her jewels remain low-priced so that everyone could afford them. Haena Sanbie Sia-Foo, CEO and Founder of Jhaena Jewels, showcasing their exquisite holiday collection to beloved clients. The Rise of Affordable Luxury Wearing elegant pieces can be dreamy. However, with gold's fluctuating prices, it can be a bit difficult to put that dream to life. Fear not, though, because Jhaena Jewels' natural diamonds and gold jewelry pieces are at one's fingertips. You can own a chunky 18K gold charm bracelet for only PHP 68,130, while a 10-carat tennis bracelet only costs PHP 378,000 which is by far affordable compared to its prices in the market. With Sia-Foo's promise of affordable luxury, loyal clients won't have to chase moonlight just to dream about real diamonds at the manufacturer's price. Instead, they would stay up all night watching her live, commenting 'mine' on pieces that stole their hearts at first flex. Gabriella Carballo on leaving a year of medicine behind for MUPH: 'The risk was worth it'

Gabriella Carballo boldly chose to set aside a year of practicing medicine to pursue her pageantry dreams and join Miss Universe Philippines, where she was crowned Miss Eco International Philippines. In an event at Surge Gateway on Friday, Gabbi reflected on her journey, sharing that her heart's posture is 'definitely in the right place right now.' 'It's in a good place and I say that because it's really that since before I joined Miss Universe Philippines and until now, not a single thing has changed in the way that I view myself. I'm not saying it hasn't elevated and it also hasn't gone down,' she said. Gabbi thinks it feels that way because she has been guided to this moment very well. 'I left behind a year of medicine to come here and that was a risk that I had to take but clearly, the risk was worth it because I was able to get a crown and because of that I don't take it lightly and I take this role as really a place to inspire other people that you don't have to pick one. You can do both,' she said. The doctor and beauty queen will aim for a back-to-back Miss Eco International win for the Philippines after Alexie Brooks won the 2025 title in April. In a previous interview with GMA News Online, she said that she doesn't feel pressured. 'For me, I think pressure comes when you don't understand your responsibility. And for me, I understand my responsibility very well. I know that I have people to inspire. I know that I do have a wonderful queen to follow up,' she said. —Carby Rose Basina/JCB, GMA Integrated News

Photos: Michelle Dee/Instagram Michelle Dee rushed to get medical help after her pet dog bit her in the face and left a torn wound on her cheek. The Filipino actress-beauty queen showed her face with patches on her cheek and chin, through her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, June 3. 'My unexpected Tuesday plot twist,' she captioned her post. 'Sa mukha ko pa talaga.' (It even had to be on my face.) In a succeeding post, Dee showed herself at the clinic of celebrity doctors Vicki Belo and Hayden Kho. The Miss Universe Philippines 2023 also gave a closer look at the wound on her face. 'No matter how much we love your furbabies, never underestimate dog bites!' she reminded her followers. 'Act quick.' Belo, who came to Dee's rescue, wrote in a separate post, 'We got you, Michelle!' Just last February, another celebrity fur parent, actress Alma Concepcion, shared that she and her son were bitten by their pet dog. The actress regarded the incident as a learning experience for her and her family, saying that while their dog is kind, they would refrain from cuddling him as it might prompt another biting incident. 'I'm sad about this change. But over-all he is kind. He's potty trained and with the looks of it, he is very sorry,' Concepcion said. – Philippine Daily Inquirer/Asia News Network

Michelle Dee welcomes Pride Month with fierce portraits

Michelle Dee ushered in Pride Month with the ultimate 'PoGanda' photos! The beauty queen and actress donned a classic outfit of a white tank top and blue jeans, and posed like a supermodel in the Instagram photos. 'It's that time of the year,' Michelle said in her caption. She also added rainbow flag, red heart, and fire emojis. Michelle came out as bisexual in 2023 after being crowned Miss Universe Philippines. Back in April, she became one of the inspirations for Klarisse De Guzman for coming out on 'Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition.' Pride Month serves to empower the Filipino LGBTQIA+ community by creating spaces where their identities are celebrated, stories are respected, and their rights are recognized. Pride March and other events also serve as a protest against the abuse and injustices the community faces. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
