Juventus interested in Tottenham's Mikey Moore

Kenan Yildiz is probably Juventus' best player at the moment and that was in full display with him scoring a brace against Al-Ain in the club's 5-0 win in their inaugural Club World Cup match. However this also means that he has interest from other big clubs. Juventus though want to tie him down and be a leading player in the present as well as long term. Meanwhile, the club are looking at young attackers who could grow alongside Yildiz and become protagonists themselves. Mikey Moore of Tottenham Hotspur is a name that has been touted as an option as per Gazzetta dello Sport. He is widely considered as one of the best English talents around. Advertisement Although he's 17, many believe that he should have already featured a lot more for Tottenham than he already has. If this issue continues persisting under new manager Thomas Frank, then a move cannot be ruled out for the player who has a contract till 2027. Also on the list is Monaco's Eliesse Ben Seghir. The Moroccan made a great impression in what was his first real season in senior football and has a lot of clubs monitoring him. He is 20 and it is believed that he can be signed for a fee of around €30m. Kaulik Mitra | GIFN

England U19s produce astonishing comeback after trailing 5-1

Update: Date: 19:02 BST 16 June Title: England drew against Norway in opening match of European Under-19 Championship Content: This video can not be played UEFA Under 19 Championship highlights: England 2-2 Norway Tottenham forward Mikey Moore converted a late penalty as England drew against Norway in their opening match at the European Under-19 Championship in Romania. The 17-year-old equalised in the 80th minute after team-mate Shumaira Mheuka had been pushed to the ground by defender Jonathan Norbye. In an entertaining match, Will Antwi's Young Lions took an 11th-minute lead. Tom Watson, who scored an injury-time winner for Sunderland in the Championship play-off final against Sheffield United before joining Brighton in a £10m deal, saw his deflected strike go in after Kadan Young's bright run created the opportunity. Alexander Rossing-Lelesiit made it 1-1 with an excellent individual goal and both sides hit the woodwork before Sondre Granaas put Norway ahead just before half-time with a well-taken cushioned volley. But England were the better side in the second half and got a deserved equaliser with 10 minutes remaining. A late ankle injury to Moore was the only negative and, with Antwi's side having used all their substitutes, they had to see out the match with only 10 men. England play Germany on Tuesday and the Netherlands on Friday, with the top two in each group progressing to the semi-finals. You can watch live coverage from both the men's and women's European Under-19 tournaments on the BBC. The men's tournament - in Romania - kicks off on Saturday, one day before the women's competition in Poland begins. England's men have been drawn in a tough group with Germany, Netherlands and Norway, while the women will face Netherlands, Portugal and holders Spain. Spain are the most successful team in the men's tournament, with nine titles since it too was switched from under-18s to under-19s in 2001-02. Their most recent success came in Northern Ireland last year, when they beat France 2-0 in the final. That meant Spain's senior men and both under-19 teams won European competitions in 2024. England, who failed to qualify last year, have won the tournament twice since its rebrand - most recently in 2022.

Spurs' Mikey Moore aiming for another European trophy with England Under-19s

Having made his Spurs debut at the end of the last season, the highly-rated 17-year-old kicked on and showed glimpses of his outstanding potential during a topsy-turvy campaign in north London. Moore made 19 appearances in all competitions for his boyhood club, with five of those coming in a Europa League campaign that ended with Tottenham beating Manchester United to win a first trophy since 2008. Mikey Moore celebrates after Tottenham won the Europa League final (Nick Potts/PA) The winger was on the bench in Bilbao and three weeks on has more continental glory in his sights as England kick-off their bid for Under-19 European Championship glory against Norway on Saturday. 'It was a top experience – some of the best times of my life on that Wednesday night,' Moore told the PA news agency. 'Hopefully going on to win another medal and another trophy with these boys here would be a brilliant feeling, and experience for everyone. 'There's some top players. We think we can go on and hopefully win the tournament. It's been a good little build-up but excited to get into the games now.' Mikey Moore could be one of the stars of this summer's Under-19 Euros (Nick Potts/PA) England have been preparing for their shot at Under-19s glory in Romania over the past week, when it was confirmed Brentford boss Frank would be succeeding Ange Postecoglou as Tottenham manager. 'With Ange, I'm thankful to him,' Moore said. 'He gave me an opportunity to go and show people what I could do. 'Now I'm just excited to get back and hopefully go and impress the new manager. Try and show what I can do, really. 'I started away at Brentford, where obviously he was in charge, and I've played against his team before. 'I've heard that he's a good man and he's a good manager. One of the boys here (with the Under-19s) works under him and says good things about him, so I'm just excited to get going under him, really.' Frank is sure to be an interested observer as Moore looks to help England win the Under-19 Euros for the third time. The 17-year-old could be one of the stars of the tournament judging by some of his Spurs displays, with team-mate James Maddison likening him to Neymar after October's Europa League win against AZ Alkmaar. Moore went on to become the youngest Englishman to score a major European goal, breaking a record held by Jimmy Greaves since 1957, with his superb goal against Elfsborg in January, but there have also been some difficult moments. 1️⃣ Mikey Moore – 17y 172d2️⃣ Jimmy Greaves – 17y 245d Mikey is now the youngest English goalscorer in major European competition history 🤯 — Tottenham Hotspur (@SpursOfficial) January 30, 2025 'When I look back on the season, when I go back to (last) pre-season I didn't ever expect to be in the position I was halfway through the season,' Moore said. 'But obviously it wasn't all great, it didn't all go to plan. I think there were certain parts in the season where I've not struggled, but had down moments. 'But when I look back on it it's been a massive learning year for me, and it's obviously come to an end now almost, and we came out successful. It's a season I will always look back on and be proud of.'
