Iowa Job Corps closure in Denison cuts 115 jobs

DENISON, Iowa (KCAU) — More information has been disclosed about the recent closing of the Job Corps location in Denison, Iowa. The Iowa Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act reports that 'Eckerd Connects' is set to close on June 13. The company, Eckerd Connects, provides workforce and education solutions. 115 people will be losing their jobs as of June 13. Iowa State Representative Steve Holt says that it's not likely that the decision of closure can be reversed at this time. He added that leaders in local, state, and federal governments will continue to do all they can. The 3rd annual Siouxland Food Festival will offer 11 local food vendors, all while raising money and awareness for the Food Bank. Admission tickets are $10, and all proceeds from the event go directly to purchasing food for people experiencing food insecurity.
