The fire department spokesperson shared that he had called with claims of Burrell suffering cardiac arrest. Burrell's death shook the food entertainment industry to its core, as confirmed by TMZ from the account of NYC restaurant owner Melba Wilson. Wilson shared that her passing left her feeling empty and, by extension, the culinary sphere. The Food Network star revealed that she had a conversation with Burrell last week, and everything seemed well on the phone. They reportedly chatted about karaoke, backgammon, and life in general. Wilson was healthy and vibrant, with nothing seeming out of place as they talked, even down to her health. Wilson described her late friend as a warm personality who lit up any room she entered. Her death, according to the cooking pro, was by no small measure a surprise. She raved about her friend being a trailblazer and an iconic figure who broke the glass ceiling in the food and beverage industry, which men previously dominated. The television host left her loved ones with sweet memories before her death, which is what most of them are holding on to. She reportedly spent quality time with her friend Elizabeth Falkner at her dinner party last week. Falkner recalled inviting her over for the feast at Soho House. In her words, 'It'll be great to see you.' And she brought her husband, and we just had such a good time. It was just so sweet." After the dinner, Burrell reportedly sent a lovely appreciation message to her friend. The host emphasized that she had a lovely time indulging in the provided delicacies. 'We were like, 'Let's just make a point of talking and texting more often. I'm very grateful to have had that special night. I feel like [our friendship] just got cut really short fast,' Falkner shared. The tributes have not stopped pouring in, a testament to Burrell's eventful time on Earth. Flay reiterated that he would cherish the gifts forever. During an interview in April, Burrell communicated her desire to feature on Meghan's Netflix show "With Love, Meghan." Burrell — who famously hosted Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-hosted Worst Cooks in America — died at her Brooklyn, New York apartment on Tuesday - with harrowing new details of her demise recently released. Restaurateur Melba Wilson spoke with Burrell the week before her sudden death and said the star seemed 'healthy, vibrant and beautiful' with no signs of illness - amid reports the star went into 'cardiac arrest.' She told TMZ: 'Anne never mentioned anything about being sick. That's why this is such a shock to us. She was healthy. She was vibrant. She was beautiful. 'If you saw Anne, Anne could light up any room she walked into. So to know that she went to sleep and just didn't wake up is heartbreaking. 'Fifty five, this is not supposed to happen to a healthy 55-year-old. It's unbelievable to know that someone so vibrant and full of life is no longer with us. Recalling her birthday party a few weeks before Burrell's death, Wilson said: 'Anne was fine. We talked about karaoke because we love to do karaoke'. adding the star 'loved games, dancing and backgammon. MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) – A popular New York City restaurant has opened a new location in Manhattan. Melba's, a restaurant that has served Southern comfort food in Harlem for 20 years, opened up a new location inside Grand Central Terminal this week. More Local News 'The interest for me was the melting pot. This is iconic, this is Grand Central Terminal. There's no other place like it in the world,' said Melba's owner Melba Wilson. 'There are 750,000 people who go through this space on a daily basis. I'm born, bred and buttered, like I said, in Harlem. Everybody cannot and will not come up to Harlem. But 750,000 come through Grand Central.' Melba's is located on the lower level of the dining concourse in Grand Central, according to its website. The Grand Central location will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
