Fabletics names new marketing chief among management promotions

Fabletics announced on Wednesday the promotion of Carly Gomez to the role of chief marketing officer, alongside the expansion of Meera Bhatia's role from chief operating officer to the U.S. activewear brand's president and COO. Bhatia joined Fabletics in February 2020. As COO, she has led strategies across e-commerce, production, operations, and technology, while driving the brand's expansion into new channels. The California-based brand said her appointment to president and COO will see her remit now include product creation, retail, wholesale, and international operations, aligning both brand and operations. Likewise, Gomez joined Fabletics as senior vice president of brand marketing in April 2024. In her new role as CMO, she will lead all brand, digital innovation and customer engagement initiatives. 'Meera and Carly have been exceptional leaders for our team during a pivotal point in our growth trajectory,' said Adam Goldenberg, co-founder and CEO of Fabletics, who said both leaders will continue to play critical roles in propelling the brand forward, as it enters its next phase of growth. 'This is a big year for Fabletics, as we are on track exceed $1 billion in revenue while continuing to expand our retail fleet beyond our current 100+ stores. We're introducing new store formats and pursuing plans for international expansion – all while continuing to deliver the innovative partnerships and best-in-class product we are known for. We are thrilled to have Meera and Carly expand their roles and position us for continued success.' Last October, the brand announced its expansion into Mexico through a partnership with Liverpool, a local omnichannel retail group founded nearly 200 years ago.

Rachi Sharma takes inspiration from Shraddha Kapoor from Stree for her role in Aami Dakini

The much-anticipated show Aami Dakini is all set to keep viewers on the edge of their seats with its gripping story. Set against the beautiful backdrop of Kolkata, the show marks a return to spine-chilling storytelling for the channel after the iconic show, Aahat. The show features Hitesh Bharadwaj as Ayaan, Sheen Das as Dakini, and Ranchi Sharma as Meera. Meera stepping into the layered character of Meera, Ranchi Sharma reveals how she found inspiration in Shraddha Kapoor 's performance in Stree to shape her portrayal. She says, 'When I watched Shraddha in Stree, I was definitely captivated—there was a mystery to her, layered with a quiet emotional pull. That performance lingered with me. But when it came to Meera, while I could relate to the essence of that character, I knew the emotional landscape was different. Shraddha's expressions, her silences, her rhythm—they were inspiring, but Meera demanded a different kind of intensity. I drew from her restraint and calm, but I had to push in a direction that was bolder, rawer, and a bit more grounded in grief and strength. So yes, I referenced her, but only as a starting point. From there, I had to find Meera's unique emotional pitch.' Recently, in an exclusive chat with Times of India TV, Sheen Das, who plays a Dakini in the show, opened up about her role. She shared, 'I've never done something like this on TV before. It's my first time doing something like this for TV. The look is very bold, and it justifies the role. There's a lot of emotion that is driving the horror in the show. I saw a lot of horror movies. There's a certain way the character had to walk, talk, and do everything, so there's a lot of preparation that went behind not just the physical aspect but also the emotional. ' She further shared, 'There are two aspects of my role — one of a 100-year-old and another is of a girl who was a great musician. The show will portray that her love is timeless, and she is in love with her boyfriend. The character will wait for her boyfriend to be reincarnated so that she can finally reunite with him.' Explore therapeutic benefits of self-expression at this workshop

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a world where sharing often boils down to a caption or status update, finding someone who truly listens to your happiness, fears, or doubts feels rarer than ever. Real friendships are harder to form, and people seem increasingly guarded. Perhaps that's why journaling has found new life. Of course, we've all had those classic 'Dear Diary' days — a little scribble here, a secret there. But journaling today is more expressive, more intimate. It's no longer just about writing down thoughts. It's about tucking in a dried flower a friend gave you, pasting that first solo bus ticket, or keeping a chocolate wrapper that meant something. To explore this creative, open-ended form of journaling, a three-hour mindful workshop is being introduced in Thiruvananthapuram for the first time on June 29. It will be led by Meera Nazer, a lawyer, economist, and one of the pioneers of journaling workshops in cities like Kochi, Kozhikode, and Bangalore. 'I used to journal as a child, in a playful way,' Meera shares. 'You know how, around New Year, we get leftover diaries of our parents? I'd scribble in them without any pattern.' The workshops took shape much later, in 2023, during her breast cancer journey. 'When I was diagnosed, people around me started looking at me like I was fragile, like I was going to die,' she recalls. 'I've always been loud and outspoken, and people assumed I would lose all that. I wasn't scared, I was angry. Angry that even in 2023, with all the medical progress, people still saw cancer as a death sentence.'

Chennai: Pothole-ridden road in Anna Nagar raises traffic concerns

Commuters using the 13th Main Road at Anna Nagar in Chennai have raised concerns over the deteriorating condition of the stretch, which has become riddled with potholes and uneven patches. The situation has worsened in the recent weeks due to intermittent evening rains, leading to slippery surfaces that pose a risk to motorists, especially two-wheeler riders. The stretch connecting 2nd Avenue with 4th Avenue (Shanthi Colony), both arterial roads of Anna Nagar, has been a key route for vehicles diverted from the Thirumangalam junction following the commencement of Phase II of the Chennai Metro Rail project. Traffic from Ambattur and Mogappair heading towards Koyambedu is rerouted through the 15th Main Road and then onto 13th Main Road, resulting in a sharp spike in vehicular flow, particularly during morning and evening peak hours. Residents say that both roads were dug up for utility works a few weeks ago, but were never properly re-laid. 'Temporary fillings using loose materials have since eroded, leaving the surface bumpy and unsafe. The surface is extremely uneven. At nights, it becomes a nightmare to drive, especially on two-wheelers,' says S. Meera, a resident. Flanked by residential apartments, shops, banks, and other commercial establishments, the stretch has become heavily congested. 'Driving down the stretch is a test of patience. The intermittent evening showers cause water logging along the stretch and the traffic slows to a crawl,' says R. Nagarajan, a daily commuter. Residents and shopkeepers also highlighted the issue of encroachments, including unregulated parking and building materials piling up along the road, which further reduce space for vehicles and pedestrians. While they acknowledge that Greater Chennai Corporation has initiated pavement works for the benefit of pedestrians, they want stronger enforcement to prevent roadside dumping and unregulated parking. According to sources in the civic body, relaying work has begun, starting from the other end of the 13th Main Road. The remaining stretch will also be taken up soon, they added.

2 held after court marriage sparks family feud

Shamli: Two men were arrested in Shamli district on Thursday after a court marriage between relatives sparked a family feud. The dispute began in Jan, when Rajveer Singh (27), a daily wager from Lakshmipura village, married Meera Saini (22) of Bajhedi through a court marriage. The match, however, faced opposition from Meera's maternal uncles — Janeshwar, Salendra, and Pappuram — who are part of the extended Saini family and live in the same village as Rajveer. "Meera often visited us. We didn't know when their friendship turned into a relationship," said Rajveer's mother, Sona Devi (58), a widow. Rajveer is one of her three children; his elder brother Rajkumar and sister Reenu are already married. On June 10, around 8–10 relatives, including Meera's uncles, allegedly gathered at the house of ex-village head Swaraj Singh to sort out the matter and Rajkumar was summoned. Sona Devi added the situation escalated the next day when she was threatened by Meera's uncles and asked to leave the village. She subsequently filed a complaint at Jhijhana police station, prompting police to register a case under Sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 352 (assault), and 351(3) (criminal intimidation) of the BNS. Based on her complaint, Janeshwar and Pappuram were arrested. Chausana outpost in-charge Gyanendra Singh said, "A meeting was held between the two sides recently where objections were raised due to prevailing social customs against intra-family marriages." He confirmed that Rajveer and Meera, both consenting adults, are now living in another state. Supporting the couple, Rajveer's grandmother, Angoori Devi (75), said, "While 'sagotriya' (same gotra) marriages are traditionally prohibited, Meera belongs to a different gotra. So, there should be no objection." Follow more information on Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad here .
