Oman Cables, Ministry of Education Celebrate Graduation of 280 Young Innovators in 2nd Edition of ‘Kids in STEM'
Oman Cables Industry (OCI), a leading provider of cable solutions in the Sultanate, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, marked the graduation of 280 students from the second edition of the 'Kids in STEM' initiative.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Maya bint Saeed bin Khamis Al-Azriya, Advisor to the Minister of Education for Scientific Innovation, along with Erkan Aydoğdu, CEO of Oman Cables Industry, school officials, students, and educators.
Supporting Oman's Vision 2040, the initiative took place at Al Tafawok Basic Education School for Grades 1 to 4 and expanded this year to include Al Shamaail Basic Education School. The year-long program engaged both students and teachers, equipping them with key STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) skills.
Ms. Zakia Al-Muqaimiya, Head of the Scientific Innovation Department at the Ministry, said: 'This initiative reflects our joint commitment with the private sector to foster a generation of creative thinkers. Early STEM education opens pathways to opportunity, innovation, and long-term national development.'
Echoing this vision, Erkan Aydoğdu, CEO of OCI, emphasized: 'We remain dedicated to nurturing young talent through education. Our investment in the next generation is a testament to our support for Oman's Vision 2040, promoting innovation, creativity, and critical thinking as pillars of sustainable growth.'
