It has been an honour shouldering the responsibility of playing Adam and He Man. "It's been the role of a lifetime and I put everything into it. There's not much I can show you, but I am so proud of the movie we've made. Thanks to our amazing cast and crew for all your hard work." Galitzine previously confirmed via a post on TikTok that filming had wrapped on the movie. He wrote on the video-sharing app: "No ships left to fly that's a wrap on masters of the universe!! "I'm eating about 4,000 calories a day, but the amount of physical work I'm doing, you end up hungry at the end of the day, which is quite surprising. This is the fun part." Galitzine ultimately intended to cut down on his eating, explaining that it would likely cause his mood to change.

'Masters of the Universe' Star Gives a Huge Update, Complete With First He-Man Photo
Following in the footsteps of the legendary Dolph Lundgren, Nicholas Galitzine will wield the power of Grayskull as the first cinematic version of He-Man of the 21st century. The 2026 version of Masters of the Universe is shrouded in mystery, though, as of Father's Day, 2025, Galitzine himself has dropped a massive update. "Well, that's a wrap on Masters of the Universe," Galitzine wrote in the caption to an Instagram post on June 15. "It has been an honour shouldering the responsibility of playing Adam and He-Man. It's been the role of a lifetime, and I put everything into it. There's not much I can show you, but I am so proud of the movie we've made. Thanks to our amazing cast and crew for all your hard work." That caption accompanied an incredible photo of Galitzine as He-Man, the first full photo of him as the character that's been officially revealed. Although He-Man and the Masters of the Universe became a popular toy line and animated series in 1984, there has not been a live-action version of the fantasy hero since the 1987 film, starring Lundgren. The new version of the movie has a very big cast, including Galitzine as He-Man, Camila Mendes as Teela, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Idris Elba as Man-at-Arms, Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress, and Jared Leto as He-Man's arch nemesis, Skeletor. The film is directed by Travis Knight, with a script from Chris Butler. It is produced by Mattel, the same toy company that created the original toys, and was responsible for 2023's smash hit film, Barbie. Will Masters of the Universe be the Barbie of 2026? Who knows. For now, it's clear that Galitzine has the power.'Masters of the Universe' Star Gives a Huge Update, Complete With First He-Man Photo first appeared on Men's Journal on Jun 15, 2025

Dolph Lundgren Says 'Maybe I'll Get Involved' in New 'Masters of the Universe' Franchise
In 2026, Nicholas Galitzine will redefine the character of Prince Adam/He-Man for an entirely new generation when he wields the famous power sword in the rebooted big-screen version of Masters of the Universe. Unlike Batman, James Bond, or Superman, He-Man is unique because prior to Galitzine, only one other man has played He-Man in live-action: the legendary Dolph Lundgren. Recently, Men's Journal spoke to Lundgren at length, primarily about his excellent new American-made spirit, Hard Cut Vodka. But, while chatting about cocktails, we also managed to wax nostalgic with the original master of the universe. "If you think a new He-Man movie makes you feel old, I feel old! I was in it!" Lundgren tells Men's Journal. "They've been trying to remake the picture for at least 15 years, and I'm glad they're doing it. There's a great cast, a great crew. It's a big budget picture with MGM/Amazon. I think they're doing a great job."Lundgren also reflected that the durability of He-Man is partially because of how different the character is from other types of action heroes. "Prince Adam has a bit more romanticism to the character than other superheroes. Marvel and DC are a little harder-edged," Lundgren explains. "There's something magical and childlike about it. And even though they're kind of making an adult picture, there's something soft and positive about that character." As Lundgren's successor, Galitzine, has just revealed that the new Masters of the Universe has finished filming, fans might wonder if there's a chance for cameos from the old days. Could the original He-Man somehow use the cosmic key to cross over to the newest version of Eternia? Lundgren didn't reveal anything specific, but did hint that he's certainly interested in being a part of the new franchise in some way, shape, or form. "It's a bit of a secret, but I can't say much," Lundgren says. "But yeah, maybe I'll get involved somehow. We'll see."Dolph Lundgren Says 'Maybe I'll Get Involved' in New 'Masters of the Universe' Franchise first appeared on Men's Journal on Jun 16, 2025

Nicholas Galitzine Reveals How He Got Shredded to Play He-Man
Following the announcement that filming has completed on the 2026 reboot of Masters of the Universe, the new He-Man himself, Nicholas Galitzine, gave fans an epic update showcasing how he transformed into the utterly jacked, famously musclebound fantasy hero. In a series of new behind-the-scenes photos from Masters of the Universe, Galitzine shows himself in the gym, as well as boxing like a machine. "Just a lil BTS and training from the last few months. (I can't show you nada)," Galitzine wrote in the caption. Galitzine certainly didn't mess around with this training. He looks significantly larger than he appeared in his most recent film, the 2024 romance, The Idea of You. The photos also show him alongside his stunt double, wearing a pink shirt very reminiscent of what Prince Adam wore in the original Filmation cartoon back in 1984. We also get at least one look at Galitzine fight training with katanas, which probably aren't the same kinds of swords that He-Man uses in the actual movie. But then again, you never know. At least one photo showed Galitzine holding the new power sword, which looks very much like the classic power sword from the 1980s cartoon. As has been previously revealed, some of the action of Masters of the Universe will take place on contemporary Earth. This mirrors the 1987 film, which also depicted travel between the planet Eternia and Earth. But this time, the story will focus on Prince Adam having grown up on Earth (like Superman) and only learning of his heritage later. How Galitzine will handle this transition from a terrestrial Prince Adam to He-Man remains to be seen. But clearly, thanks to his incredible training, he certainly looks the Galitzine Reveals How He Got Shredded to Play He-Man first appeared on Men's Journal on Jun 16, 2025

Dolph Lundgren Teases 'Secret' Role in New MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE Movie — GeekTyrant
The Power Sword may have a new wielder, but one legendary champion of Eternia might still have a part to play in the upcoming new Masters of the Universe movie. Dolph Lundgren, who played He-Man in the cult 1987 Masters of the Universe film, has hinted that he may be returning, though not in the way fans might expect. With Amazon MGM Studios' live-action Masters of the Universe movie officially wrapped, the studio has kept a lot of details under wraps. But, during a recent chat with Mens Journal , Lundgren was asked about the persistent rumors that he's involved in the reboot. His response? Just coy enough to fuel the fire. 'It's a bit of a secret, but I can't say much. But yeah, maybe I'll get involved somehow. We'll see.' totally in it. The project has been in development limbo for years, with several directors and writers taking stabs at the franchise reboot. It finally gained real momentum under Amazon/MGM with Bumblebee director Travis Knight at the helm and Chris Butler rewriting a script originally drafted by David Callaham ( Shang-Chi ). Filming took place in London, which, interestingly enough, is where Lundgren had teased he was working on a 'secret' project not too long ago. As for who he might play, the strongest fan theory floating around suggests King Grayskull, a powerful ancestor of He-Man and an ideal role for Lundgren's commanding presence. While that casting remains unconfirmed, it would be a cool way to honor his legacy in the franchise. Lundgren also offered some thoughtful commentary on the tone of the new movie and how it compares to today's superhero fare: 'If you think a new He-Man movie makes you feel old, I feel old! I was in it! They've been trying to remake the picture for at least 15 years, and I'm glad they're doing it. There's a great cast, a great crew. It's a big budget picture with MGM/Amazon. I think they're doing a great job. 'Prince Adam has a bit more romanticism to the character than other superheroes. Marvel and DC are a little harder-edged. There's something magical and childlike about it. And even though they're kind of making an adult picture, there's something soft and positive about that character.' The story for the new film follows '10-year-old Prince Adam who crashed to Earth in a spaceship and was separated from his magical Power Sword—the only link to his home on Eternia. After tracking it down almost two decades later, Prince Adam is whisked back across space to defend his home planet against the evil forces of Skeletor. But to defeat such a powerful villain, Prince Adam will first need to uncover the mysteries of his past and become He-Man: the most powerful man in the Universe!' Masters of the Universe is slated to hit theaters on June 5, 2026.
