Chris Brown Released From British Jail on £5 Million Bail Agreement

Singer Chris Brown was released from a British jail Wednesday on a £5 milion bond after being charged with inflicting an 'unprovoked attack' on a man in a London nightclub in 2023, according to the BBC. As part of his bail conditions, Brown, 36, who had not been asked to enter a plea at the time of this article's publication, can now launch his world tour next month. 'From the cage to the stage!' he wrote on Instagram after Wednesday's bail hearing. Brown could be asked to forfeit the money if he breaks the bail agreement. His tour is scheduled to start in Amsterdam on June 8. Brown was arrested on May 15 in Manchester, England, over an alleged bottle attack that occurred in 2023. He was accused of an unprovoked attack on producer Abe Diaw at London's Tape Nightclub in Feb. 2023, when he allegedly struck him with a tequila bottle several times and punched and kicked him while he was on the floor. Most recently, Brown, who has a long history of violence-related arrests, was sued for $50 million after allegedly assaulting four concertgoers backstage in Texas. The suit, filed in July 2024, alleges that Brown and his crew severely beat the plaintiffs following the singer's performance in Ft. Worth, Texas. After one of the accusers approached him backstage to congratulate him on the show, a member of his entourage reminded Brown that they had issues. The suit states that Brown and seven to 10 members of his team proceeded to assault the victim as well as others in proximity. Coca-Cola brings viral take on iconic soda to stores

Just because something becomes of viral sensation does not mean it needs to cross over into the real world. Remember when everyone was taking instant coffee and whipping it into a sort of cream? That was a viral fad that did not need to become something sold in stores. Related: AMC announces generous offer to win back customers There are cases however, we're viral trends, make it into reality. Starbucks, for example, has brought many items from its so-called secret menu onto its real menu. This happened somewhat organically. Customers were ordering these items which did not have an official recipe. By adding them to the menu, the chain gave its workers. The tools needed to make them successfully. These situations rarely happen. But when they do happen, they can be very big. Dirty sodas, for example, moved from social media and reality TV into a growing trend. A number of coffee chains now offer some version of a dirty soda with a few chains, leaning into it heavily. Don't miss the move: Subscribe to TheStreet's free daily newsletter Even McDonald's has brought items from its secret menu and offered them to fans. It's a smart strategy because many people want to try these, but don't know exactly how to order them. Now, Coca-Cola has jumped on this trend and is bringing a viral hit into stores later this month. Coca-Cola has not been shy about trying to have viral success. It has partnered with celebrities like the DJ Marshmello to create new flavors. It has also used artificial intelligence to create a flavor and seems very willing to introduce novelty sodas just to get some attention Coca-Cola's latest flavor, however, may be based on a viral trend, but it's not a novelty. It seems like a product that has an actual chance for long range success. Sprite Tea sounds like an unlikely combination. This isn't something that Coca-Cola (KO) invented, but a trend that truly spread online. People took a 20-ounce bottle of Sprite and dropped in two black tea tea bags allowing it to steep for 10 minutes. The combination actually brings out the best in both, tempering the carbonation and sweetness of the Sprite while accenting the tea with the soda's lemon-lime flavor. Media & Entertainment: Disney makes major theme park announcement after startling lossComcast raises red flag about unexpected customer behaviorDisney CEO offers unexpected response to tariff concerns This flavor has been long in the making as it was first introduced by Coca-Cola at an industry event in Oct. 2024 for a May 2025 release. Sprite and Tea will hit store shelves on May 20. It will be sold in 20-ounce bottles, cans, and in 12-ounce can 12-packs. The cans will offer both sugar and sugar-free options while the bottles will be sugar only. Consumers have mixed opinions on soda and have been looking for healthier alternatives in some cases. That has created challenges for Coca-Cola, which CEO James Quincey talked about during its first-quarter earnings call. "In North America, we grew revenue and profit and won value share, but we were not satisfied with our volume performance. In addition to challenges with severe weather and calendar shift, volume was impacted by weakening consumer sentiment as the quarter progressed, particularly among Hispanic consumers," he shared. There are some bright spots which also show why its important that Sprite Tea is being offered in a zero sugar variety. "Bright spots include continued volume growth for Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, another good quarter for fairlife and Topo Chico Sabores, and continued traction with food service customer renewals and new accounts. Our system has quickly pivoted to prioritize the most impactful investment opportunities and is emphasizing faster decision making and greater agility to accelerate volume growth," he added. "In the U.S., Coca-Cola Orange Cream is off to a good start with approximately $50 million in retail sales during the quarter. At the end of February, we launched Simply Pop, our first prebiotic soda in select locations and channels across the country. We're excited about our ability to test and learn and scale successes over time," he shared. The Arena Media Brands, LLC THESTREET is a registered trademark of TheStreet, Inc.

Rosé makes history with AMA nominations, becomes the only K-pop nominee outside of Korean categories

The American Music Awards announced its nominees for this year's ceremony earlier today. Ariana Grande, Beyoncé, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, Sabrina Carpenter, SZA, and Taylor Swift — the list of nominees and potential winners, is quite decorated, as it goes every year. But Korean girl band (and indominable global sensation) Blackpink's Rosé is enjoying her moment of glory. The K-pop idol has quite literally made history by becoming the first and only K-pop figure to be nominated in a category outside of the K-pop category. Not just this, she is also the only woman to be nominated in the one K-pop category, namely 'favorite K-pop artist'. A post shared by Coldplay (@coldplay) Rosé was nominated in the 'Collaboration of the Year' category for the record-smashing track from last year, APT, created with the very talented Bruno Mars. A post shared by American Music Awards (@amas) Contending competition in the category include Kendrick Lamar and SZA's Luther, Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga's Die with a Smile, Marshmello and Kane Brown's Miles on It, Post Malone and Morgan Wallen's I Had Some Help and Taylor Swift and Post Malone's Fortnight. As far as the K-pop category goes, Rosé is the sole female nominee alongside all-male contenders like boy bands Stray Kids and Ateez, as well as BTS members Jimin and RM individually. Coming back to the absolute flavour of 2024, APT, based on Rose's favourite Korean drinking game, which she has extensively spoken about, in essence even teaching the world to play along, released last December and was a near-instant chartbuster. APT now sits on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart for the 26th consecutive week, making it the longest for a song by a K-pop female artist to stay on the US music chart. This record previously belonged to K-pop girl group Fifty Fifty's 2023 track Cupid, which held its position on the Hot 100 chart for 25 weeks. Hosted by Jennifer Lopez, this year's AMA winners will be announced on May 26, in Las Vegas.
