Rashford's strict transfer rules leave Man Utd with one option over summer exit

Marcus Rashford is expected to be shown the Manchester United exit door this summer but the Red Devils academy graduate is rapidly running out of options for his next club Marcus Rashford might only have one Manchester United exit option left after already ruling out three Premier League rivals. The Red Devils academy graduate is fully expected to leave Old Trafford this summer after an explosive season. He was axed from the squad entirely by Ruben Amorim before joining Aston Villa on loan. Villa had a £40m option to make the deal permanent but despite his promising displays in the Midlands, they chose not to re-sign him. ‌ That has left Rashford in an uncertain position regarding his future but even then, Rashford has a list of criteria for his next club. According to the Manchester Evening News, the forward is not prepared to take a wage cut on his current £325,000-a-week package, which only a few clubs could afford. ‌ It is suggested that Rashford has already turned down moves to both Saudi Arabia and Turkey. He is open to a rival Premier League side but he does not want to move to London, which would see the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham all out of the race for his services. It is further detailed that United chiefs expect Rashford to move abroad having put a move to Barcelona at the top of his list. The Catalan giants have an interest in Rashford but are currently attempting to thrash out a deal for Athletic Bilbao's Nico Williams which will stretch their finances. A loan move now looks to be the only route out of Old Trafford for Rashford this summer. And he will hope to get his future sorted soon after Ruben Amorim made his feelings about a reintegration into the squad very clear. The United boss banished the forward alongside three colleagues from the club's pre-season tour alongside Antony, Alejando Garnacho and Jadon Sancho. Explaining Rashford's initial omission back in February, Amorim said: "What I say is I couldn't put Marcus to see the way you're supposed to play football and to train the way I see it. "And sometimes you have one player who is really good with one coach and the same player with another coach is different. I just wish the best to Rashford and Unai Emery, and they can connect because he's a very good player." ‌ Where do you think Marcus Rashford should go? Share your thoughts in the comments below He added: "The case was some of the guys don't adapt the way I see football, the other guys adapt, and we are trying to build the team. It's something that you feel, as a coach and a player. "It's quite normal, it happened with a lot of coaches. The important thing is that I'm here saying it was my decision." Marcus Rashford 'emerges as a shock target for Champions League giants' - with Man United outcast facing uncertain future

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has emerged as a potential target for European giant, according to a report. Rashford, 27, has been exiled at Old Trafford, last playing for the Red Devils in December and he was loaned out to Aston Villa for the second half of the season. The forward impressed at Villa Park, scoring four goals and adding six assists in 17 appearances in all competitions, but his future remains up in the air and he is not in Ruben Amorim 's plans. The 27-year-old's contract, which sees him earn £315,000-per-week, runs until 2028, and his wages could prove to be a stumbling block to any transfer. As reported by the the Manchester Evening Standard, United are preparing for the prospect of loaning out Rashford for the entirety of next season. The outlet also reports that Inter Milan enquired about the England international earlier this month - but they would only consider a loan deal. Rashford, who is valued at £40million, is expected by senior United officials to make a move abroad this summer. He hasn't ruled out a move to another Premier League club, but is reluctant to relocate to London. Mail Sport has previously reported how Rashford's dream move is to join Barcelona and his agent met with Deco , the Catalan giants' sporting director, last month, but no transfer has subsequently materialised. Barcelona are now instead closing in on the signing of Athletic Club's Nico Williams having agreed personal terms with the winger. Any money United make from a potential Rashford sale would count as pure profit in their PSR calculations. Rashford is understood to want to play in the Champions League as the 62-cap England international aims to win a place in Thomas Tuchel's World Cup squad next summer. Rashford was called up by Tuchel back in March, but he was absent from this month's internationals after missing the final period of the season due to a hamstring injury.

FC Barcelona Dream Still Chased By Premier League Ace Despite Williams

A Premier League star is still determined to fulfil his dream and play for FC Barcelona despite its increased interest in Nico Williams according to Mundo Deportivo, which cited anonymous sources. After Barca paid the former Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia's €25 million release clause, and announced his capture on Wednesday, Barca has moved on to trying to land the Euro 2024 winner Williams, who is also a close friend of Lamine Yamal. Doing so will require the triggering of another release clause, though this one is a lot more expensive at €58 million and won't be as straightforward for a club still recovering from a financial crisis that pushed it to the brink of oblivion earlier this decade to raise. In the meantime, while Nico has reportedly agreed to join Barca, Marcus Rashford is still pushing for transfer from Manchester United to Catalonia according to Mundo Deportivo. Before interest was sparked in Williams again, he was believed to be Barca's top target for the left wing alongside Luis Diaz. With Rashford rated at around €40 million, he would be the cheapest of these forwards while Diaz is the most expensive at something close to €85 million. Rashford and his corner don't believe that signing Williams will be an obstacle that puts the kibosh on the England international's Camp Nou dream. His input on the pitch isn't only limited to the left wing, as, unlike Williams, he can play all three positions across the front line while providing a good alternative to the aging Robert Lewandowski. The Pole is entering the last year of his contract signed when joining from Bayern Munich in the 'economic levers' summer of 2022, and Barca as of yet has no natural heir for him other than winger Ferran Torres or Dani Olmo playing as a false 9. The newspaper also writes that Rashford is willing to lower his salary demands, while United would want a reduced fee of €30 million. Even at a cut fee for Rashford, FC Barcelona might struggle to afford both him and Williams. Across those two potential deals, we're talking about more than $100 million in cash, which is still a push for Barca despite its improved financial health under President Joan Laporta.

Football transfer rumours: Liverpool move for Guéhi? Rashford to Newcastle?

Marcus Rashford's future is very much in the 'up in the air' category. The chances of him ever playing for Manchester United look slim-to-none as he will not be given a boarding pass for the club's US tour, while a dream move to Barcelona is going up in smoke. A few Serie A clubs have had a sniff but his wages might be a stumbling block. What he really needs is a Champions League club with plenty of cash. Step in … Newcastle. The Magpies are back in the bigger time next season, will be eager to make a statement signing or two, and Rashford fits the bill. Liam Delap chose Chelsea over Newcastle and Eddie Howe likes to have the best English talent at his disposal, so Rashford would be an ideal candidate as an extra attacking option. It takes a brave man to move from Liverpool to Everton (and vice versa). Nick Barmby, Abel Xavier and Gary Ablett did the Merseyside double in their time and the next potential candidate is Ben Doak. The Scottish teenager impressed on loan in the Championship last season at Middlesbrough and is ready to step up to the Premier League but there is no obvious role he can play under Arne Slot. It means Doak might need to find an alternative and at least this one means he will not have to move house. He is currently playing for England at the European Under-21 Championships but that is not stopping talking going on in the background with Bayer Leverkusen over a summer move. The Germans are not short of cash having sold Jeremie Frimpong and – imminently – Florian Wirtz to Anfield. Said cash splashing is not coming to an end for Slot, who also wants Crystal Palace skipper Marc Guéhi to bolster his centre-back options. A year ago the defender was subject to bids from Newcastle but £65m was deemed insufficient and the Eagles are unlikely to have dropped their price. Burnley are seeking some extra quality now they are back in the promised land. One potential incoming is the Lazio winger Loum Tchaouna who could head from Rome to Turf Moor in a deal worth in the vicinity of £12m. Advertisement Igor Thiago has endured a difficult time at Brentford through a mixture of injury and the form of Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa. Despite the fact at least one those forwards will depart this summer, the Brazilian could also be allowed to leave with Besiktas contemplating a move for the former Club Brugge man. Speaking of those who could swap London for Istanbul, José Mourinho is eager to bring Thomas Partey to Fenerbahce for absolutely nothing. The midfielder's contract is days away from expiring and the club and player have failed to agree a new one, leaving him free to leave. Napoli are eager to add to Kevin De Bruyne in midfield and are targeting Brighton's Matt O'Riley. The Danish international has been the subject of a £26m bid from the Italian champions.
