Mohanlal receives a grand welcome in Sri Lanka Malayalam superstar Mohanlal arrived in Sri Lanka for the film's eighth shooting schedule and was greeted with a warm, traditional welcome by Sri Lanka's tourism authorities. The video of his arrival, shared online by his close friend Ishanta Ratnayake, quickly went viral and fueled curiosity about the ongoing shoot. As reported by Manorama Online, the Sri Lankan schedule will reportedly include key sequences involving Mohanlal, Kunchacko Boban, Fahadh Faasil, and Darshana Rajendran. This yet-to-be-titled (or possibly Patriot) film is being helmed by acclaimed filmmaker Mahesh Narayanan and features an impressive star-studded lineup. Mammootty plays the central character, while Mohanlal joins him in a pivotal role. The film also stars Kunchacko Boban, Fahadh Faasil, Nayanthara, Revathy, Darshana Rajendran, and Zarin Shihab. High production values and international appeal The film's cinematography is handled by Bollywood's Manush Nandan. With scenes being shot in Sri Lanka and a cast that includes some of South India's biggest names, the project has the makings of a pan-Indian film with strong international appeal. On the other hand, Mohanlal recently made his grand comeback with the thriller drama film 'Thudarum'. Mammootty's previous outing was the game thriller film 'Bazooka', which was directed by the debutant Deeno Dennis. Mammootty was also seen in the film 'Dominic and the Ladies' Purse'.

The three-year-old pet reportedly died during a routine grooming session, prompting widespread outrage after the director shared the incident on social media. 'Chakkara had been with us for three years' The complaint was registered with the Palarivattom police. Recalling the incident in a conversation with Manorama Online, Nadirshah said, 'Our Persian cat, whom we lovingly called Chakkara, had been with us for three years. My daughter took her to the veterinary hospital for grooming.' Hospital Responds to Allegations In response to the accusations, Dr. Aneesh Antony, the owner of the veterinary facility, denied any negligence. Speaking to OnManorama, he asserted that the cat was treated in accordance with standard procedures and that the anaesthesia was administered by a qualified veterinarian. Dr. Antony maintained that the dosage given was appropriate and monitored by trained professionals. He added that the cardiac arrest occurred unexpectedly and that a definitive cause of death could only be confirmed through a post-mortem examination. Police have acknowledged receipt of the complaint and confirmed that further action will depend on the postmortem report. On the Work Front Nadirshah's most recent directorial release was 'Once Upon a Time in Kochi', a light-hearted entertainer. Unni Mukundan recalls growing up near Ahmedabad plane crash site: ‘My school friends and I are in shock'
Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan spent the majority of his life in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, before he shifted to Thrissur for studies and Kerala for work in the film industry. After the Air India aeroplane crash in Ahmedabad on Thursday, the actor spoke to Manorama Online and recollected growing up near where it all happened. It's a few kilometres away from where the Air India flight crashed with 242 passengers on board. Recalling that the crash site is close to where he played as a child, he said, 'I have come to know the plane crash took place in Meghaninagar, ten kilometres away from Maninagar in Ahmedabad. Maninagar is where I lived for 24 years. Like Kerala, Gujarat is my favourite state. I spent my childhood and adolescence there. This news is causing immense grief in my heart. My school friends and I are in shock.' He also expressed grief on social media, writing, 'Heartbroken by the news of the Air India Ahmedabad-London flight crash. My heart goes out to the families who lost their loved ones. I can only imagine their grief, and I pray they find strength in their darkest of times. May every soul lost find their peace, and may those left behind feel the warmth of support and love around them.' On Thursday, an Air India aircraft flying from Ahmedabad to London crashed a few seconds after takeoff. It had 242 passengers on board, out of which only one survived. 'The passengers comprised 169 Indian nationals, 53 British nationals, 7 Portuguese nationals and 1 Canadian national. The survivor is a British national of Indian origin,' wrote Air India in a statement on X (formerly Twitter). They also announced ₹1 crore compensation each for the families of the dead passengers.

Actor Shine Tom Chacko's father dies in car crash, Shine injured
(Picture Courtesy: Facebook) Popular Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko was injured in a road accident near Salem, Tamil Nadu, that claimed the life of his father, C.P. Chacko. As reported by Manorama Online, the family was reportedly travelling from Ernakulam to Bengaluru around 10 PM when the accident occurred around 6 AM near Salem. Shine and his family were on their way to Salem for medical treatment following an earlier course of treatment in Thodupuzha. Truck Rams Car; Multiple Injuries Reported According to preliminary reports, a lorry veered off its lane and rammed into the car in which Shine and his family were travelling. Shine's father, who was seated in the middle row alongside his wife, sustained critical injuries and later succumbed to them at the hospital. Shine, who was asleep in the back seat during the crash, suffered an injury to his right hand and may require surgery. His mother, brother, and the assistant who was reportedly driving the vehicle received minor injuries and are currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Dharmapuri. Actor Shine tom Chacko gets candid According to reports, Shine's brother was seated in the front with the driver, while their parents occupied the middle seat. Shine Tom Chacko was reportedly resting in the rear seat when the lorry suddenly collided with their vehicle. Questions Remain Over Identity of Driver While initial reports indicated that the assistant may have been driving the car, some confusion persists regarding the exact identity of the person behind the wheel at the time of the crash. Additionally, there are unverified reports that another individual was also present in the vehicle. Authorities are yet to release a confirmed statement on the details of the driver and the cause of the accident.
